- Q:I spilled hot hair removal wax on my carpet in two places in my aparment. A. Is there any way to remove the wax from the carpet. B. If there is not a way to remove it, does the whole carpet in the room have to be replaced or just the small area? C. How much does this generally cost. - I would try ice to free it and then pick out the clumps then go to home depot or walmart and get OPPS it's in the paint department at walmart the liquid not spray kinda let it soak in for a while and then scrub your carpet with HOT water it should take care of it. It took candle wax out of mine. I own apartments and it usually costs about $500 a unit to purchase and install that is a one bed room and I don't know my size compared to yours. If it comes to the point you need to replace it you should notify your landlord and make sure he approves it so you don't end up putting carpet in and paying him. Some landloards are shady I personally would be thrilled I didn't have to worry about it. But I bet if you do the opps you'll be ok UPDATE do NOT use an iron because to get the heat high enough to warm it you will BURN the carpet

- You can also use the whole t-shirt and make them several layers thick, sewing them together much like a quilt and making a rug that way. But I like the texture of a woven or knitted or crocheted rug, especially when it is made of rags. How many you need depends on many things, such as the size of the rug, and how thin you cut the strips. You will need MUCH more than you think... I know! Collect as many as you can from friends and neighbours and search the second-hand shops for them as well.

- It really depends on the flooring you buy, I've seen floors usually for $1 to $4 per square foot while I was last in the hardware store. I don't know if it's just in my area or what, but either Home Depot or Lowe's (I don't remember) has a $99 whole-house install special that includes padding.

- I have a similar room to yours though opposite colors concerning the wood and walls. I have very light oak for furniture and light fabrics with vibrant blue walls. The area rug I used is a brilliant red. So to my thought... What about a royal blue rug? I have seen some nice ones at Ikea recently. Good luck!
