- Q:I just bought a new roll of Reptile Carpet. I've never used Reptile Carpet before, but I decided that you have to experiment with substrates to see what your reptiles like best. Anyway, I want to know how to clean the carpet. The roll I bought came in a kit with other things made by Zilla (reptile supply brand. and it didn't come with any instructions on cleaning the carpet. I know you can clean it, because I've read online comments on Zilla being a very good brand of carpet because of it's eco-friendly (made out of recycled bottles re-usable by washing). Could tell me how they clean their Zilla Reptile Carpet, or any other brand that is basically that same as Zilla's carpet? I would like to know how you clean it, what detergents/soaps (if any) to use, and how to dry (is it machine dryable, or air dryable?)
- The repti-carpet should be hand washed with a mild dish soap, like Dawn, and then air dried. I personally clean my repti-carpet like this: 1) I get a large mixing bowl and fill it with hot water and some Dawn. 2) I let the carpet soak for a while in the bowl to help loosen the dried on stuff. 3) I agitate the carpet in the water and scrub it with itself (rub the carpet together) to help remove all the dirt and debris. 4) I rinse it off thoroughly, squeeze as much of the water I can out of it, and then let it air dry.
- Q:So somebody spilt hydrogen peroxide on the carpet and now it's bleached! The original color was kinda a beige color and I need to know is there any possible way at all to get rid of this or kinda dirty it up to look beige... Please help!
- You can buy carpet dye but I am not sure if you could dye just a small area and it match and look good. I'm not sure either if you could use Rit dye. It's possible you might be able to find a product like fabric color pens that you could use to sort of fill in the bleached area. A carpet person could possibly cut out the bleached part and replace it with a section from a closet if your closets have the same carpet. It would depend on the type of carpet, its condition and age, etc.
- Q:What kind of rug should I buy that will stand up best to cat's claws besides sisal?
- Berber is an excellent choice. Very durable and they won't be able to pull up the pile as much if at all. I have a throw rug that shows no wear after 5 years.
- Q:we found a large area rug that we'd like to use in our bedroom, but it takes up more than half the room. is it possible to cut it to fit into the corner under our bed so it looks like it was made for that?
- NOT REALLY...BUT YOU SAID IT WAS TOO BIG FOR THE ROOM...SO WHAT YOU CAN DO IS CUT THE RUG ON THE SIDE OR END THAT WILL BE UNDER THE BED......ANOTHER PLACE YOU COULD CUT IT WOULD BE ON THE WALL WHERE YOUR DRESSER WILL BE....YOU SEE WHEN YOU CUT A RUG LIKE THAT THE EDGES WILL FRAY AND IT WILL LOOK TERRIBLE....THAT HY I SAID IN THOSE ARES BECAUSE YOU WON'T BE WALKING IN THAT ARES SOS IT SHOULDN'T FRAY ON YOU...MAKE SURE YOU USE A NEW BLADE IN THE RAZOR KNIFE YOU ARE GOING TO BE USING USE YOU GET A NICE SMOOTH CUT...PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING WHEN CUTTING...IT WOULDN'T LOOK VERY GOOD WITH YOUR BLOOD NOW IT..............
- Q:I am remodeling a room and I'm not sure if I should put in the baseboard or the carpet first. Also, if the baseboard is first how much of a clearance does the carpet need to get tucked under?
- put the carpet in first. the just put the base board over it , that would be the easiest to do in my opinion
- Q:I have never purchased new carpet and do not know where to begin. What type of carpet is best for high traffic areas? This will be in our living room. Thanks for the input!

- Q:Why people crazy about indoor outdoor rugs? Give the proper reasoning.
- Outdoor : Small and large houses alike can benefit from attractive outdoor rugs. The right outdoor rug can extend your living room into your yard and make use of space you didn't realize you had. If enjoying the outdoors is a priority for you and your family, then read on for all the things you need to know about outdoor rugs. Indoor: One of the most important things to look for in an indoor and outdoor type rug is the size of it. You'll find they come in sizes ranging from small, runner rugs to huge, room-size rugs. Which size you need to get is going to depend on where you want to put it. Many people choose to use indoor outdoor rugs on hallways leading to and from the outside, which is why you'll find many runner rugs. However, other people wish to cover their entire patio on them, and for this purpose you would use a larger one. To make things easy, take your measuring tape out and see how large you need it to be. Chances are they wont have the exact size, but you should be able to find one close to it.
- Q:I know the chairs should stay on the rug when pulled out.. But it's a pretty small space. I was thinking maybe no rug at all would look Better than one that's too small!?
- Yeah, skip the rug. I have the same situation where I can't fit a rug for a space where the chairs need to be pulled out. I just have a couple of rugs in other parts of the room. Much easier to clean under the table and no stains on the rugs.
- Q:can olifine pile rugs go outdoors?
- I've used them on my patio, but have experienced some problems particularly if they are rubber backed. Moisture gets between the backing and the fiber to cause little black spots on the rug which are mildew. If it rains and the rug stays hortizontal for any length of time, it will mold as well. The good news is that both can be removed with DampRid Mold and Mildew Remover (the one for fabrics) and it protects the rug from it happening again with little moisture exposure (not drenching, pouring soaking rain). If I'd have known about this product, I would have sprayed it on first before putting it outside and just picked it up when we have a heavy rain to keep it from molding.
- Q:i want to put in some new carpet in these two small rooms about 3x3 each how much around would it be? plus to be installed by someone
- The standard price to install carpeting is about $3. 00-$4. 00/square foot. This only includes the installation of the carpet and not a carpet pad, which costs an extra $0. 50/square foot. Carpet installers will also remove old carpeting for about $0. 50/square foot. These would all be minimum prices and could increase depending on the type of carpet you wish to install ask at your local carpet store as they sometimes have a list of contractors that could do the work for you and this would give you a better idea ok,good luck.
