Q:hey just wondering is there any big difference between a rug with leg straps and a rug with a tail chord?
not really any big difference. Only that rugs or blankets with tail chords have one chord running behind the horse while rugs with leg straps go in between the horse's legs. Rugs with tail chords would be better for a horse who is stall kept who doesn't move around as much. The tail chord isn't the best for keeping a rug in place, especially when the horse is running around. Some owners don't like to use them because their horse developed a habit of using the chord to rub their tail Rugs with leg straps keep the rug in place and keep it straighter when the horse is moving around. Some horses with sensitive skin can get rubbings or chaffing because of the straps being too tight. They are better if your horse is pasture kept or rolls frequently.
Q:I have a leopard gecko enclosure and i am wondering if it is better to have rug in the tank or calcium sand ... please no immature answers
No loose substrates...especially not sand. I use non-adhesive shelf liner. It's cheap, easy to clean, and can be cut to size. It's what I use in all my reptile cages. You can find it at any store.
Q:I bought two new rugs and one of my cats has already peed on one of them. I spanker her and told her no and rubbed her nose in it. Is this a good way to train her or can I do something else? This cat destryed a previous rug by peeing on it.
Try a litter box! no , seriously, if the cat is old or sick sometimes they do this for some reason. take it to the vet cause it could be a urinary problem. There is also some stuff called Boundary I got at the pet store. you spray it on what you want the cat to stay away from. it works. good luck
Q:I'm looking for a living room rug approximately 8x10 or larger. Someone told me that I can perhaps be able to buy two pieces of carpet and have them made into a rug, it suppose to cost less than an already made rug and I can chose the colors I want. If you know any places where I can have this done or where I can purchase a rug for a low price, please let me know. I live in West Chicago, 60634. I can only afford to pay up to $150. Thanks!
Here's a link to area rug in your price range. You didn't say what color. Good luck!
Q:We are almost done painting the living room which has hardwood floors. Covering them was simple...newspaper and tape. How do I go about covering a carpeted floor so that it will stick? We have 2 1/2 carpeted rooms and pulling the carpet up will be our LAST resort. We are amateurs so please be kind! Thanks!
Are you painting the base boards also? If not, then do the same routine you did for the hardwood floors. If you are painting the base boards, the carpet needs to come up.
Q:Does quot;Pulling the Rugquot; effect negate and destroy Dark Red Enchanter, if D.R.E. has been out for a few turns. To clarify: The card came out, the effect was activated immediately. A few turns later, quot;Pulling the Rugquot; was flipped after his trigger effect. Does quot;Pulling the Rugquot; still negate and destory D.R.E.?We know it would negate it if we had flipped P.T.R as soon as D.R.E was Normal Summoned, but we don't know if it still counts if it happens a few turns later. The wording of the card is unclear.
Pulling the rug effect only works when the monster is summon and is effect activates during the summon, pulling the rug wwill not effect dark red enchanter after its been on the field already
Q:i have had a shag rug for more than a year and the area my kids love to sit it is all smooshed down.....even when i vaccuum...The area under my coffe table is like it used to be when i vaccuum. how can i make it pop back up like it used to?
Vacuums can pick up all the loose dirt, but some of it gets matted into the carpet fibers and eventually weighs them down. Rent a steam cleaner or rug shampooer or have a professional company do it for you and you will be amazed at the results. Carpet should be cleaned once a year or every other year depending on the traffic they get - sounds like yours needs it once a year.
Q:What's the daily care of all rugs? x
Rugs are normally synthetic so don't need the same daily care as leather tack. They are also not expected to last as long. If taken care of well leather tack can out last your horse, so it's well worth caring for them properly. You want to keep the rugs clean and dry for the health and comfort of your horse, but how this is done varies form owner to owner. In my case: My horse wears a sheet (or fleece cooler when it gets colder) next to her skin and I wash it regularly in the washing machine so she has a clean layer. Over the top she wears her turnout rug. When I groom her I first brush over the rug with a dandy (if it's dry) and spot clean if necessary. Then I remove it and put it over a fence or stable door and bang it against it. I can remove the sheet and shake it more forcibly (the turnout is too heavy for that). If the sheet or cooler is wet at all I hang them to dry and replace it with my spare (I have two of each). If the turnout is soaked through I'll replace it with a stable rug and pay a fee to use a heater to dry the turnout quickly (if I didn't the rug would probably still be wet that night when my horse is turned out out again). It's usually fine though and I use the turn out as a stable rug too, it fits better then the stable rug, and modern rugs can be breathable and waterproof. In spring both the turnout and stable rugs are either washed by hand or sent away for cleaning (my washing machine isn't big enough to take them) and the turnout is reproofed. It's also important to remove and replace the rugs at least once a day even if you don't ride. The horse must be groomed as sweat and grease can built up under the rug and the horse will also enjoy a good scratch with the brushes as they can't do that for themselves when they are rugged.
Q:I have a heavy recliner sofa and chairs. These are on heavy metal frames which leave a a square indent in the carpet as well as the 4 corner feet. Does anyone know of any carpet protectors made especially for these type of sofas. UK

Q:Life span is 5 years on this bright white carpet. They lived here 2 years before us, and didnt replace the carpets before we moved in, and we lived here for 2 years.. Meaning the carpet is currently 4 years old out of the 5year life span. We did normal wear and tear, and we did make a few spots but nothing huge or horribly bad. Anyways, they want us to pay for the whole carpet cost. Is that right? Were in minnesota
I think your age calculation is incorrect. Even cheap carpet should last 8-10 years. So let's say it's 8 years... the carpet is 4 years old. You made spots that can't come out, it's acceptable that they need to replace the carpet. Since there is still 50% life expectancy = you need to pay 50% of the cost.
