Q:What is pearly carpet, what is pearly carpet?
Colorful colors, colorful effect, is another milestone in your wedding. This product is divided into three types:A, fine surface pearly carpet (surface pearl powder is smooth and delicate).B, large pearl carpet (surface with large particles of pearl, brighter and brighter colors).C, glossy pearl carpet (on the original basis, made a layer of glue on the surface of the surface, smooth surface, not falling film).
Q:I went to a heritage craft festival last year, and there was a lady making rugs. It was at a Colonial period mansion, and she said the rugs were found in the storage of the family, and never finished. So she was using similar materials, and following the pattern to finish them. I guess it was rug hooking, but I don't remember her calling it that. She would take a very thick piece of wool and pull it through the backing to make a little loop, then, on the same piece of wool, just make a loop in the next hole, no knots, no cut pieces..she said the fabric was so tight and the wool so thick that it would hold it in, and eventually the bottom would become felt from walking on it (she showed me the older portions of the piece). Is that the same as regular modern rug hooking? it doesn't seem like it...does anyone know if this sounds right? does anyone rug hook like this? Thanks!

Q:can Pulling the Rug kill Jinzo?
no. forced back is the only card that can handle jinzo
Q:I have a smallish (3ft by 5ft) area rug that needs to be cleaned. It's not worth enough to pay a cleaner and I have hardwood floors so I'm not trying to rent a steam cleaner. I was thinking about using a clothes line between two trees and hosing it down real well with a pressurized garden hose... I have tried vacuuming and quot;beatingquot; the rug with a stick, but there is a dingy coloration that I think needs water/washing to get it looking nice. I wasn't going to use any detergents, just water and a scrub brush then let it air dry for a day or so. Does this seem like at least a semi-good idea? I'll sooner throw the rug out and spend money on a new one than spend money cleaning this one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Q:I'm going to redo the flooring in my bedroom, so I was checking options. Traditional carpet is not really in my budget, so I was thinking carpet tiles, I really have no idea about them so all the info will help. But what I want to know the most is the seams, are they noticeable or will they blend in? I'm thinking plush carpet tiles if that makes a difference.
Ideally, you need a sub-floor for carpet tiles. If you have hardwoods, you can ruin them with carpet tiles. Otherwise, I have carpet tiles in my attic, which is my kids bedrooms. I went with that style intentionally because they love anime and we went with an Asian decor. Here is where I also admit that the builders put in a sub-floor for us and gave us the carpet tiles for free...lol I love them. One of my husbands friends is a very handy person and helps with all the DIY, so he helped to lay them. There are no seams and I think they are perfect. Carpet companies usually have some carpet that they will sell for cheap. We had them lay a plaid carpet in our basement because it was good quality, but wasn't selling because its plaid. I love it. Its off white with navy and black lines. Perfect for our exercise room, my sewing room.and under the pool table. Made us get blue felt for the pool table and I think it's beautiful. Check with them.
Q:Ok so i want to get new carpet in my basement and on the Home Depot website it says that youcan get any size carpet for only $139, but idk if this includes taking the old carpet out. If not, then how would i do that, and/or how much will it cost???
The ad is to install the carpet, not purchase. You'd have to ask Home Depot if the install also includes removal and haul away. It may not for a special deal. Removal can be fairly easy if the carpet was not glued to the floor. The easy way is to peel back a corner. Tack strips are thin slat with grippers nailed to the floor that have spikes on the top to grip the carpet. Once you get it off once section, the carpet is easily taken up. However, get a carpet knife and cut them into sections for easier handling. Often the carpet is NOT under the baseboard, but right at the bottom. Letting a putty knife or screw driver under there will probably loosen it. Remove the carpet and the pad.......pads are cheap and you want a fresh clean start. If the carpet is glued down.......well, you'll need a heavy duty flat scraper and start scraping. You'll also need a carpet glue solvent and plenty of open windows...at least. You may need breathing protection, getting the birds out of the house, etc.
Q:I have a budget of about $2300 for the carpet, pad, and labor. I have inquired at two different places and have been given very different estimates of the cost of carpet per square foot that I can afford. These are the dimensions of the three rooms:Living Room: 12X23Dining Room: 12X12Hallway: 4X12How much, with approximate cost of pad and installation fees, do you think I can afford?
You actually need a 12x41 piece of carpet (total--with one seam in hallway). This is 54.66 square yards. This means you can spend about $42 per square yard and stay within your budget. You can have most anything in the store if you come to my store. The same will apply wherever you shop. Your budget is great for what you want. You have no worries. DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT...EXACTLY. Then have both companies bid on that product. You should be able to get something nice for about $35/sy. If you happen to live in the Dallas, Tx area, I would love to give you a quote.
Q:I just recently moved and the carpet in the bedroom is brown. I don't have the money to replace it, but I would like to brighten it. I can tell at one point it was a very dark brown and has lightened up over time. I would like to know how to darken it without having to replace it yet. Is there a way to darken it?
I would use a large throw rug.
Q:We have a red rug which needs cleaning, but I'm no longer interested in using the harsh chemicals most commercial cleaners insist upon.
I okorder . FYI - if you fill out a short form on their website, they'll give you $10 in Earth Friendly Products printable coupons. (I personally use Earth Friendly Products and think they are great). You can find Seventh Generation and Earth Friendly Products at just about any organics store, such as Whole Foods, or you can order through their website. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Q:I have carpet beetles. Will carpet cleaning kill them? If not, what should I do to get rid of them that is pet friendly.
I have had a major problem with black and variated carpet beetles and no matter what I did, they kept coming back! I don't want to buy bug spray because I have a 6 month old boy. Recently I went on a whim and started spraying down the baseboards with colgate pro health mouth wash since someone told me it works for bugs and then I did an experiment. I found a beetle escaping running across the kitchen floor so I sprayed him and he was running, running, running then fell over dead! I decided to add some lavender oil drops to the mix to make it smell nice. Then, I was cleaning the bedroom and I had found a carpet beetle larvae out of its hiding spot so I took it and put it into an empty container and sprayed it with mouth wash and took it out right away on a dry piece of paper and only after a few seconds, it was dead. Try mouth wash. So far it seems to be an effective way of killing them- all life stages. Since the stuff doesnt have alcohol and if you spray the baseboards only, it shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't make a pool of it.
