Q: what should be done if the carpet has water in?
suggest you to find a professional carpet cleaning company to absorb the water, because they can supply large-scale water absortion equipment. you can also have the carpet cleaned up if it is dirty. if the carpet is not dirty,
Q: So i practily live in my basement. Its a hard wood floor but my moms stupid dog as come down and peed on it countless times. It seems like an easy fix case u would usualy just spray it down where the pee was and clean it up. Problem is my rug is black so i cant see the stains .Im sick of the smell and my friends dont want to come over cause of it. I dont want to have to get rid of the rug ... i cant take it outside cause its gross and wet and raining all week. What should i do?
If you want to solve your problem for good You should hire rug cleaner to solve your problem. This can be very challenging and time consuming process. You can pay $2 or $3 a sf. You have to wash with shampoo and water and must dry properly otherwise you will have mold problem.
Q: I am going to get new carpet and a friend told me to get berber because it wears better.Does it?Is it more expensive than a good plush carpet?
Not necessarily , but it can be. Berber by it s construction you don t see any wear because your walking on the loops. It will mat and crush because it usually , but not always made w/ a softer yarn called Olefen. So check your warranty info on the back of all carpets to compare. They ll add nylon in it to get colors in the yarn because Olefin is a natural stain blocker but a softer, not as tough as nylon. You ll find cheap berbers and expensive ones. If you have pets, give it a 2nd look, since 1 loose or snagged loop (pet nails) and a whole row can be zipped right out via a cat or a vacuum. When picking ANY carpet, get the correct pad and the poundage to match.Minimum 3/8 and 8# pad for berber and 7 / 16 ths and 5 1/2# pad for regular carpet. These will protect you for a warranty GL
Q: Besides renting a rug doctor or other carpet machine
Maybe the Carpet Cleaner products would help.. Something like Resolve.
Q: Yo!My apartment floors are horrable tiles in the living and bed rooms and I hate it! It's cold and cracked up and ugly. Anyways, we started looking at area rugs but for the sizes we would need to cover most of the rooms we are only finding ones that cost like $1,000 - and we can't afford that - and thats at places like kohls and target, places I thought would be cheap. Are there any websites where I can buy large area rugs for cheap? Or could I even buy the kind of rugs they usually install but not install it? Where would I get that? At this point anything is going to look better then these stupid tiles!
I buy all of our large area rugs on OKorder. I bought one that is like 11 or 12 feet by 7 or 8 feet(sorry can't find my measuring tape) for $80.00 with shipping. It is a knock off Persian rug design. We have had it for over a year and it still looks great. Just nose around a little and be sure to check the sellers feedback to be sure you are dealing with a reputable seller and be sure to check out the shipping charges before deciding. Good luck!!
Q: What material is persian rugs/carpets made of?
Real Persian rugs, wool or wool and silk. Current rugs with Persian designs may be machine made with olefin fiber. Just remember real Persian rugs have not been made since 1935. That's the year Persia became Iran
Q: I'm thinking a dark purpley magenta... or perhaps a shaggy brown rug might suit. Ideas?
I personally would go with a burgundy color..like a red wine...Never go with light beige colors, they are very hard to clean unless you clean them right away. Our home has fitted carpets and all of them beige, and one can see every little blemish. I like burgundy. I think it won't clash and it looks elegant...I think a shaggy brown rug will not do the blue justice and yes, if you are young and daring and for bold extremes, then I think a purply magenta could work. That will be a bold color scheme but it can work. Also make sure, that you either redecorate your walls or the rug and the blue cream sofa should somehow be in harmony with the color on the wall ..otherwise if you have too many different colors, (meaning the wall has a yellow paint, and the rug is purply magenta and the the sofa is blue cream, then I find that too much of a contrast..so check the walls and if they are white, I would paint them and maybe give them a nice color that could be a blue...Blue is very relaxing and a restful color and it depends in which room this sofa stands. A cream colored wall would also go with a blue cream sofa and a burgundy carpet...I would not get the cheapest rug. Look for a bargain but get something nice..but not too expensive. Look around in in antique shops for bargains..Maybe they have something suitable that is not too expensive..x
Q: Did you realise that professional carpet cleaning is recommended every 6-12 months? How often do you have your carpet cleaned? Who cleaned your carpet was it a company or did you clean your carpet yourself?
We clean our carpets once a year. But if it needs it more often we would clean them. We have children so, sometimes it is necessary to clean them every 6 months. It really depends on what happens in your home. But I would say at least once a year. And, yes, we do rent a machine and do it oursleves. Thanks
