Q:I just bought a new roll of Reptile Carpet. I've never used Reptile Carpet before, but I decided that you have to experiment with substrates to see what your reptiles like best. Anyway, I want to know how to clean the carpet. The roll I bought came in a kit with other things made by Zilla (reptile supply brand. and it didn't come with any instructions on cleaning the carpet. I know you can clean it, because I've read online comments on Zilla being a very good brand of carpet because of it's eco-friendly (made out of recycled bottles re-usable by washing). Could tell me how they clean their Zilla Reptile Carpet, or any other brand that is basically that same as Zilla's carpet? I would like to know how you clean it, what detergents/soaps (if any) to use, and how to dry (is it machine dryable, or air dryable?)
The repti-carpet should be hand washed with a mild dish soap, like Dawn, and then air dried. I personally clean my repti-carpet like this: 1) I get a large mixing bowl and fill it with hot water and some Dawn. 2) I let the carpet soak for a while in the bowl to help loosen the dried on stuff. 3) I agitate the carpet in the water and scrub it with itself (rub the carpet together) to help remove all the dirt and debris. 4) I rinse it off thoroughly, squeeze as much of the water I can out of it, and then let it air dry.
Q:by 25 feet and the area of the rug is 160 square feet, how wide will the border be?
You could do this how the first poster did it, or this way: Define you variables: x is the width of the rug y is the length of the rug xy=160 x+12=y Substitute equation #2 into equation #1 x(x+12)=160 x?+12x-160=0 (x+20)(x-8)=0 x=8 (a negative answer wouldn't work because this is a word problem) xy=160 8y=160 y=20 25-20=5 13-8=5 Both leave 5ft, and since there are two 'widths' in the border, I divide by 2 2.5ft
Q:my mom has purple marker stuck in her carpet.
You need a solvent to dissolve the marker and then it needs to be rinsed and extracted from carpet. You can try rubbing alcohol like the first suggestion but goof off or goo gone will work better. 1. Spray or pour onto carpet - It is important that you use a little bit at a time so you don't dissolve the glues in the backing or damage the fibers. Lightly agitate will a rag to help dissolve the contamination - too much agitation can damage fibers. It needs to be rinsed thoroughly with water. Soak the area with water and suck out immediately with a carpet cleaning machine or shop vac would work too. make sure you do this multiple times to remove all residues from the carpet Repeat steps 1, 2 3 until gone MANY CONSUMER CARPET CLEANING PRODUCTS CAN MAKE STAINS WORSE OR SET THE STAIN. Trying multiple products will greatly increase the odds of causing permanent damage. IF YOU CAN'T GET IT OUT YOU MAY WANT TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL WHO USES PRO'S CHOICE INK OUT, PRO SOLV GEL, OR CITRA QUICK AND HAS EXPERIENCE REMOVING INK STAINS. GOOD LUCK!
Q:Great landlord. Don't want to damage beautiful floors. Need to have rug lay flat. In living room. Carpet is thin. needs padding
A true pad won t really work since it ll bunch up,make it to thick and cause a tripping hazard.. What you should use is a special mat made just for rugs over hardwood. This type allows the rug to stay it place w/o slipping and bunch up, allows the wood to properly breathe and not stain the wood . These are bought any where wood and flooring are sold, just get the kind made for rugs over wood. Since you know your rug size you can get the closest size to your rug. You can even cut these and trim them to fit so the whole rug is covered from below. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:Hello I have a repti carpet coming today or tomorrow for my leopard gecko, so I'm just wondering how do I clean the repti carpet?Do I need to clean it with disinfectant liquid or can it go in the washing machine?
For loose debris and bits, take it out and give it a good shake like a rug. For tough 'stains', I use a spare, unused coarse-bristle toothbrush to bring them out of the carpet, then wash it down in the bath tub with hot water. I would not use any chemicals. Use only disinfectants that are reptile-friendly, which you can usually find at pet stores. I have never put my reptile carpet in the washing machine, because I get the feeling it would probably disintegrate.
Q:While yard-selling I came into a massive 9 by 7 grizzly bear rug with wavy blond hair in perfect condition for 20 dollars. Of course, I bought it. It's completely real, there is even a mole or two on the hyde if you look close. A good friend says they go for around 10,000 dollars. How much do you think, and where would I go to sell it?
Advertise it on Guns America, Guns International, Gun Auction. These are 3 places used by people who have the money to afford it. From what I found, you can expect to get $3,000. to $5,000. for it; IF it is in very good condition. Grizzly Bear Rugs The fur of a grizzly bear rug is commonly medium to dark brown but in rare cases can have a silver tip or blond color. The long guard hairs often have a lighter tip, giving the bears their 'grizzled' appearance. Grizzly bear rugs have very soft and long thick hair. The head is very large and round with a concave facial profile and the claws are extremely long and thick. Q:I'm trying to clean our apt carpet, which is beyond filthy. Go figure we are all college students. Total of 3 rooms and living room. What is the most efficient and cheap way of doing it? I heard carpet cleaning services are very expensive. I would like to save money and have a clean carpet.
yes you can go to home depot and rent your own carpet cleaner from them .they take like 40$ from you to rent one.
Q:The carpet will go in a finished basement. The basement has bare concrete right now.
If your basement is at most, a little damp, then I'd hesitate before putting in carpeting. You don't want mold to form under the carpet. Try to dry the basement out first. Maybe all you need is a good dehumidifier that you will continue to run. If you're not sure about the floor, do a simple test. Tape a 3x3 foot plastic sheet onto the floor. Seal all edges. Come back in a few days. If there is moisture between the floor and plastic, don't finish the basement floor with carpet. Once the basement is dry, just put an 8-pound pad under the carpet. You don't need roofing felt under it. If you are gluing carpet or carpet squares directly to the floor, be sure to seal any and all cracks in the cement first. Also, use a water-soluble glue in the event that you have to rip up the carpet due to a flooded basement. Don't cover the drains with carpet or, at least, mark them off so you can find them later. There is a spray mold-retardant that can be applied to the carpet after it is laid down. We had that done in our basement. I'm not sure if that can be done prior to laying the carpet, i.e., to spray the floor and/or the padding first.
