The baby's bedroom has white carpet but it has like... hot pink and purple stains, which I think is either marker or make-up from the prior tenants children. Would a Rug Doctor be able to get out marker/make-up stains?

Have used Rug Doctor, in the past, with great success. I would recommend, however, trying a cheap home made remedy first. I would be afraid to use Windex because it contains ammonia and ammonia can permanently discolor the carpet. If you have any kind of shaving cream, spray that on the stain, wait, and blot up, see if that helps. If it doesn't, I would make sure that when I rented the Rug Doctor, I'd also purchase a bottle of their Rug Doctor spot remover. We used this, with the rented Rug Doctor machine and the results were fantastic. Good Luck.

The study is mainly used to work and study, so it needs to create a serious feeling. Furniture should be selected of American style or European style with cluture ambience carpet. the matching color is monotonous, the furniture should adopt its good qualities and aovid its shortcomings, it's easy to depress the whole study and work.

Red dye from kool aid is one of the hardest stains to clean. Your best bet would be trying to find a professional carpet cleaner to remove the stain, but since the carpet is such a light color I'm sure they won't be able to guarantee any type of results.

Q:Hello, Thanks for taking the time to read this.Ok, I have been living on aparments since long time ago, most of them are all carpet (no choice), so now I'm moving to a beautiful townhome with 2 levels, first level where the living/dinning/kitchen are is all hardwood floors, I was just looking for slidders or socks for the furniture so they don't scratch the wood, my fiance said that the dinning room and the couches will look funny without a big area rug underneath. Do you think that Area rugs are mandatory on hardwood floors? Please share your opinions. Thanks again.

Rugs do add a touch of warmth to a room, but they are expensive and attract dirt. I would rather have no rugs than cheap ones that roll up on the sides. I have lived both ways but I do prefer the look of a nice rug underneath big furniture.

Q:my idiot dog decided to pee on my $300 hand made, natural dyed rug that i got in afghanistan. of course she would choose that spot out of the entire house. my dilemma is how to clean it. i'm scared to use normal stain removers because of the natural dyes. any ideas?

You can try a home carpet machine but, I have had good luck with using oxyclean like you use for laundry. Just mix some with water and dip a rag in it and start scrubbing the stain with it. Then when you have lightened the stain a bit, maybe the home rug machine. Or a professional carpet cleaner, you have spent a pretty penny on wool and a professional may be the way to go. The oxyclean does well though, I got bright red vomit out of a beige carpet (shag) with it. But, my carpet is not wool. The only thing is, that spot gets dirty easier because, I didn't scotch guard the spot after.

1. assume d carpet is so tightly rolled dat it can b treated as a right circular cylinder 2. let the radius of this rolled carpet be R width W, then volume V = pi*R^2*W 3. measure thickness of carpet accurately, say = t then V = W*t*L 4 equating the two, W*t*L = pi*R^2*W or L = pi*R^2 / t u don't hv 2 measure d width, only R t [ actually, better 2 measure D use R = D/2 ] happy new year !!!

Q:i live with my g-parents and the rugs are disgusting, and they refuse to change them. is there a way to throughly clean them and attempt to restore them without replacing them? thanks!

If the rugs do not have a rubber backing on them, and are not braided rugs, you can run through the washing machine set on delicate. Hang to dry. If you can not run them through the wash, place them in the driveway. Put a small bit of laundry soap on them, use a brush to scrub them and then hose them off and hang to dry. If it is installed carpeting, then have them professionaly cleaned as a present for them

Q:We had some pee spots on our area rug while house breaking our dog. We rented a rug doctor steam cleaner and cleaned our rug but now I can smell dog pee just sitting on the couch. I can assure you we were very thorough in cleaning this rug; went over the area many times using over half a bottle of solution then ran just water several times to get up all remaining soap. I can understand that it seems we have loosened and spread around the pee, but if doing a through job with a steam cleaner doesn't work, what else can I do? Now I couldn't even spot treat since it is all over now. I would assume the pee is up but the odor remains. There is no carpet pad under this rug which I know can be the problem with carpet. This rug is only 6 months old, how can I save it?!

Water makes odors worse. The Rug Dr is a joke. 90% of the urine is in the pad or in your case, the subfloor, not the carpet. You removed none of it. I assure you. You have structural damage.

Q:Well we kind of had a little mis hap and we accidently got a burning piece of paper on the ground. The paper was burning and went onto the carpet and we cleaned all the ash up and now there is a dirty ashy looking stain on the carpet. How do you get rid of it? I don't mean by buying another carpet, is there anything that could get it out of the carpet? Thank you.

clean the spot well and let it dry. Then go to the edges of the carpeting and snip some fibers. put glue on the spot and place those fibers. Small amounts at a time let dry for an hour then add more. Should camouflage it well
