- Q:i have large area rugs on my carpet and the are moving and sliding all around. which tape have you had the best experience with? thanks
- Do not place rubber backed area rugs or any rug that cannot breathe over a carpet as the carpet on the bottom will discolor to a yellow tint that is permanent.
- Q:What is the reason for the arch rise after the carpet is cleaned?
- Because carpet is easy to deform, and the carpet will become hard after exposed to hardlight. Dry foam carpet cleaning machine will make you no trouble any more. Dry cleaning to the carpet is recommended, and not dry it.
- Q:Our small office currently has tiles (vinyl, I think). I wonder if it would be beneficial to have floor carpet installed. What are the pros/cons of having that carpet put in? We'll stay here at least a year or two. Every desk (4 right now, will be adding 2 more) has a laptop or computer, monitor. All workstations connect by WiFi so it's just the power cords that are unsightly. We have guests/clients visit the office less than 5 times a month. We often have conference calls -- will the carpet help with soundproofing? And will the carpet help keep the place cool and complement the A/C?
- Pros: Soft Better sound insulation Cons: Holds more dust stains wears out
- Q:Hi everyone. I have a problem with my carpets. I recently bought a very nice, thin carpet. It is very detailed, thus it doesn't stay quot;flatquot;. It likes to move around and bulge. I have placed this carpet on another thick carpet. Now I need ideas to keep or stick my thin carpet on top of the thick one without damaging both of them. I dont want to glue or nail stuff done. Something quick and simple. Thanks everyone.
- there is double-stick tape made just for that; Home Depot, Lowes, builders Square, etc.
- Q:Ok i am getting confused here.... The Irian Jaya is the smallest of the three? followed by the Jungel Carpet Python, and then a coastal? if that is correct could i get the...average? measurements on them?
- That's correct, but i'm not sure about measurements.
- Q:I've just moved into a beautiful older home (125 years) and, although it's been recently re-wired, there just isn't always an outlet where I need it. I live with my elderly mother and do not want to take a chance that she might trip over a cord. When I do short tasks like ironing or vacuuming, can I slip the excessive cord under a rug so that she will not encounter it with her feet. She is absolutely sure that I'll burn the house down - and she's incredibly intelligent, but I'd like to hear from a real fire prevention expert.Thank you for your expertise - I think that safety is essential - paranoia is a bit much, though!
- This Site Might Help You. RE: Is it a fire hazard to run an electic cord under a throw rug? I've just moved into a beautiful older home (125 years) and, although it's been recently re-wired, there just isn't always an outlet where I need it. - Q:i want to knit or crochet a rectangular rug for my room not too big but not too small. ive looked on the internet but the ones i like are too hard and the rest are nothing but granny squares or look like over sized doilies =( please help me find classy yet kinda simple patterns.. pictures would help
- One of the problems with substituting other yarn for rug yarn is that rug yarn is generally more resilient because you need to be able to walk on it, however, I have done some latch-hook work and have found that chunky 16 ply yarns are similar in thickness to 6 ply rug yarn and are therefore a reasonable substitute. 3 or 4 strands of knitting yarn may also give you a similar thickness and may work for you purposes but won't have the same resilience as proper rug yarn.
- Q:Funny but its stained red! How can i get it out of the carpet.
- Fill a quart jar with a cup of ammonia, 1/2 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup vinegar and the rest can either use more ammonia or fill with water. I use more ammonia on tough stains and maybe because of the red color more would be better. Dampen some cleaning rags with the mixture and rub into or spray into the areas to be cleaned. When you've got it all then rinse with plain water or a little vinegar. You can also use a soft bristle brush to work it out and then rinse. maybe some of it is still there and it might have to be done twice to completely remove it all. Good Luck. Take an old towel to dry it somewhat and just put the towel on the floor and walk on it zig zaggy.
- Q:I currently operate a rug store that sells almost all persian rugs in Santa Rosa California (in the San Fransisco bay area). Operation is rather stable but I have two issues.1. I sell high quality rugs and hence the prices are more expensive reflecting the quality. However, many customers can find designs similar to mine on the internet at 1/3 to 1/4 of the price. (internet is 600, mine are 3000). If you put the rugs side by side you can DEFINATELY tell the drastic difference in quality. How should I cope with this?2. I am hoping to think of an idea used to promote the sale of these rugs. Any sort of promotion would be great just to get people to start buying.I have money to spend on ideas. Thanks, All help is appreciated. Best Answer will be chosen promptly.
- You sell such a luxury item that your client base is much smaller. You have to infiltrate the market by showing that you have great taste and an eye for quality. Get a couple of high profile (rich, important, and powerful) clients and then word of mouth should help you immensely. It is all public relations. Hire a specialist if you must. Buy one of the cheaper rugs and have it on display (don't be real in your face with it-put it in a corner so that you can direct people to it if you need to make the point-keep the receipt on display and be genuine. Personally, I bought a handmade rug from Iran (I can immediately tell that it is better quality than whatever they sell at retail stores for twice the price (I bought it for $300 with shipping on OKorder). It is a low psi (120) with a thicker wool and some low pile, but you must remember that most people intend to have furniture, children, and feet on their rugs. I don't mind the lower quality because I don't feel the pressure of keeping it pristine when I bought it for function (then beauty). If you wanted to expand your client base you could open a seperate place that dealt with the more affordable and function driven rugs that would cost under $1000, but still be better quality than synthetic machine woven options. Good luck in your pursuits and I hope that I have been helpful! Just provide a service that fills an honest NEED.
- Q:could i turn my highland out in winter with a summer turnout/sheet with a rambo fleece underneath ( best fleece on the market ) because hes a highland i dont want him caked in thick heavy turnouts. i just think a summer turnout would be enough to keep the snow off his fleece which is really what i want. i will only use this method on snowy/frosty days.
- I think you can use a summer rug with a under rug that can keep him warm, if the snow melts in the middle of the night and the water wont soak the fleece. I bought a waterproof and durable HH summer rug for my pony, and I used it with a under rug. Also you can buy a proper turnout rug.;)
