FAQ

Are the factory speakers wired be being soldered or by a wiring harness?
Any GM vehicle I have ever messed with the speakers are connected with 2 wire and a plastic connecter.
I have a GM 97 Pontiac Bonneville SSE with a stock Bose Audio SystemI am installing a Kenwood head unit and since my Bose system has a built in stock amp I cant wire this myself because its not simple like 8 wires, 4 speakers, + and - to rewire its all confusing. So my question is, is there a wiring harness that will convert/integrate my stock factory radio wire clip into my kenwood clip so I dont have to do any wiring. Also I have already looked up the OFFICIAL wiring diagrams of my stereo and they ALL match up EXCEPT the 8 speaker wires, so Ive had my head unit powered and functioning, I just cant figure out the rest so I want a wiring hardness so I can keep my 4 stock speakers stock amplified so they are loud when I install my subwoofers next week.
that's confusing to make certain if the alternative of the harness will sparkling up the difficulty. in case you have faith that using at tough street is the reason for the difficulty, the broken harness could desire to be placed undeneath the vehicle.
Don't know what the old wiring harness was hooked to, faceplate was ripped off, but I'm getting a Sony Xplod CDX-GT34W and I don't think it comes with one so what should I do. Cars a 97 Eclipse.
yes and no.yes u can use the wiring harness (presuming the previous owner bought one and hooked it up correctly) that hooks from the car to the actual head unit harness. ** no u cannot use the old head unit harness tho.so no it will NOT plug in.u will need to unplug the old head unit at the factory hook-up and then splice the wiring harness to the new head unit .the wires are color coded and labeled tho so should be fairly easy.
I have been searching for the past few days, I bought a new stereo for my car but the problem is I don't have the wiring diagram for my old radio and only have the one for the new radio. By the looks of it, my car still has the stock radio in it and the colors are very different from the new one. All I want is the diagram so I can figure out where each wire is suppose to go so I can splice the wires together. If anyone knows where I can find for free a wire/harness diagram for a 1985 Honda Prelude stock stereo I'd be extremely grateful and Thank you very much!

I bought a pioneer radio for a van I owned but the engine blew. So I took it out and sold the van. Now I have a new van and don't want to pay $80 bucks to have the radio installed. So I tried to do it myself but the wire harnesses were different. Don't really know where to go from here. If there is an easy way to switch them, please let me know.
You need a new wire harness adaptor for the van you have now, the old one will not work with your current vehicle, evidently. That is all that you need, can pick it up at any of your local audio shops.
I have a 93 land cruiser and something is wrong with the trailer wiring harness. Only the left side seems to work. When turning on the right turn signal, the left blinks, and the right side will not light up under braking either. The left signal works properly and it will light up under braking. This happens on several trailers ive towed, so its not the trailer wiring, its the harness on the vehicle. I ran a multi meter as well to confirm that its the vehicle wiring thats messed up. I don't believe its the plug its self. Any clues?
Since it is on everything you tow. I would agree the wiring problem is on your land cruiser. unless you only tow boat trailers that have been dipped in the sea and they have corrosion or a bad ground on the right side. if your land cruiser tail lights work correctly than I would say you need to take your meter and verify the right hand light power, if that is not correct. than it is the connection where your pigtail is tied into the factory wires.
I have a 2001 dodge ram sport. I recently purchased new halo LED projector headlights and had to purchase an additional sport model wiring connector in order to make the lights compatible with my stock set up. Well this connector was cheap and the wires came out. My question is, how can I convert my stock 4 lamp headlight set up to a 2 lamp so I can directly wire my new headlights in? The truck also has fog lights.not sure if that matters.
could you not use my avatar? thank you very much.
don't have harness so im going for straight connect
I would go get the harness, or wait and have one shipped to you. You can do a ton of electrical damage to the vehicle, if it's not done correctly. But, if the radio's harness was already cut: Constant 12V+ Orange Switched 12V+ Yellow Ground Black Illumination Gray Dimmer Brown Antenna Trigger Pink Antenna Right Rear Front Speakers 6 1/2 Doors Left Front (+) Tan Left Front (-) Gray Right Front (+) Light Green Right Front (-) Dark Green Rear Speakers 6 1/2 Side Panels Left Rear (+) Brown Left Rear (-) Yellow Right Rear (+) Dark Blue Right Rear (-) Light Blue AS ALWAYS, Double check all wiring, with a multimeter.
