- Couple hours as long as you have the right tools and don't break the wire socket connectors. Use some masking tape and a marker to label the connectors if you are not familiar with the wire system. Make sure you disconnect the battery before you even start.

- There is more than one wiring harness. Year One sell a dash harness for about $485. An instrument cluster harness for about $160. You need to get used to the fact that replacement parts for a classic car are expensive. This is especially true if you are looking for OEM style parts. It is fortunate that you can even find parts so plentiful for a classic car. Be thankful that you are not tryig to find parts for something like a Rambler American or a 64 Chrysler 300.
- Q:I bought a f20 motor (Type r Accord) but it came with no ecu its being swapped into a 92 accord I know most of these parts are interchangeable but I want to make sure. What is the name of this ecu for this engine? p28? or can i just buy h22 ecu and wiring harness and call it a day?
- the computer that you need for the swap is a p13 witch is the h22 ecu Just that the one that comes on the type r is a lil different. p28 is for b and d series motors. Good Luck with the build
- Q:I recently had a hitch intstalled on my car for my bike rack. However, I'm having a tough time deciding if I want to install the wiring harness for trailer lights, just in case I ever decide to tow anything.I will primarily use the hitch for the bike rack. But, it's not inconceivable that I may be inclined to tow a small trailer occasionally if I had the wiring harness.However, my car does not have the connector that you can use to plug the harness into. So, it would require splicing directly into my car's wiring. Since the car is still under warranty, I don't like the sound of that very much. I don't want someone messing with the electical system if they could accidently mess it up somehow.
- Hold up before you start cutting wires, First, many auto part stores has a do-it-yourself kit where you can Plug into your existing wiring. It comes with easy to follow instructions to install it properly, and installation is basically finding a connection point on your cars frame that plugs into the tail lamps, usually just behind the bumper. unplug it, then you place the kit's connecter inbetween what you just unplugged , then reinsert the plugs in that and, bam you now have the ability to connect to a trailer with lights.

- its not that simple you have to find out all wire functions before making any connections . you will need to get an wire diagram for a harness like this to convert to the pioneer harness

- Well I can connot tell you all the wires will work. Here is my question. Is the engine the same year of the body? Cause from year to year they change the wiring and pluges. You hap to use all the electric parts in that year of the body. Most peoplle don't know the plug end of the wires can be change. Plus newer hard ware will not work on older wiring and the solf wear. Nor will old hard wear and solf wear will work on newer system. That why the mechanic changes the electric hard over to the engine going in. If there is a wiring shop in your area for automtive. It would be the cheapest place to go to have it repair and wired right. 12 votage to a smal amp wire can burn the computer up. Diagram for the wiring is hard to fine. Most shop do even have it. Only wiring shop seem to have them. Guess is so people cannot over ride alarms system and take someone less vehicle. What is out there is pice mill at best.

- go to a best buy, they will either have one or will order one for you. please do not hard wire the deck into your car. while it is possible, It just makes for more nightmares then its worth
- Q:Current wiring harness has a two wire plug for a sensing circuit but the new alternator does not have a provision for connecting the plug. One of the wires goes to the ignition switch and the other to the alternator lamp on the dash.
- Check voltage between both wires with the original alternator and the engine running as well as stopped (but key on). my guess is the original alternator closes the circuit between the positive (coming from ignition key) and lamp. As for the replacement alternator my guess is it supplies ground from its only connector when the lamp should be lit (please measure it with voltmeter!). If my theory is correct you should wire a relay in the middle to allow the lamp to be lit, since you need a positive for the lamp.
- Q:hello. i took out my old radio from my 1995 jeep cherokee. and i cut the wires from the old wiring harness. and now they are to short. and i want to put back in my old radio and still have the little adaptar/harness. . but the wires are two short to connect. how can i take those out safely so i can take the metal ends of them and put them onto the wires in the jeep then snap them back into the harness.
- Buy a couple feet of 16 gauge THHN wire and some crimp-on butt splices. Use a wire crimper to strip the short wires, and butt splice a few inches of the new wire on to the short ends. Then connect the new wires to the harness. ACE hardware should have everything you need. An auto supply house might also.
