Q:HOW CAN I IDENTIFY THE WIRING HARNESS ON A 1997 GMC 1500 SINGLE CAB TRUCK. AND IS THERE A WIRING DIAGRAM THAT LABELS IGNITION 1, IGNITION 2, IGNITION 3, AND ACCESSORY. IM TRYING TO INSTALL A REMOTE START ON MY TRUCK, ITS A PROJECT TRUCK THATS WHY I WANT TO DO IT MYSELF INSTEAD OF TAKING IT TO A SHOP.
if you go to the web site for the system you bought they should have diagrams for you truck, or go to a radio shop and they may give you that diagram.
Q:I have a 95' Silverado K1500 (4x4) with a 4L60-E transmission and 5.7L engine that is in need of a wiring harness. I have quite a bit of blood, sweat, and tears tied into it (along with money) and I'm not going to give up on it. Besides, it's my only hope for getting back and forth to school. I'm thinking about getting a C1500 for a parts truck. The problem is that it has the 4.3L V6. If I use the E.C.M. from my truck, will the harness work?
No, it won't work at all. Why do you need a new wiring harness though?
Q:I have a 98 Ford expediton with a 4.6L Romeo engine, and engine i have is a 98 4.6l windsor engine. Just need to know if the electronic end is the same( harness, computer.)
Yes. As long as its an OBD0 to OBD0, OBD1 to OBD1, OBD2 to OBD2 and if it Vtec or non Vtec. If you try to swap an OBD1 to OBD2 don't work, and vise versa, If both are OBD2 and are both Vtec. yea it will work, you'll just have a couple of wire left if you use the harness from a 1.8 Vtec.
Q:Harvard h6 control lock in the motor line in what position
No industry standards in accordance with their own understanding of the Notes can be done in general, according to my turn into CAD
Q:i have a 1980 camaro with a 305 carburated im putting in a 383 carburated stroker can I use the same wiring harness. Thanks.
Yes, no wiring changes will be needed for that swap. Pretty much remove, replace, plug and play
Q:i have a Pioneer DEH 1200MP car stereo and im not sure what else i need to be able to install it in my car so can u help?
The audio wiring harness is the bundle of wires going to your radio (and/or other audio devices, such as CDs). You can buy one at a junk yard or at the dealer (if the dealer carries it).
Q:i am putting a new stereo into my 05 chevy colorado and before i buy a wiring harness i need to know if i accually need one since i do not have onstar?
While it is possible to install an aftermarket receiver in practically any vehicle without a wiring harness, it's usually better to use one. 1) First of all, it makes the installation easier and more professional looking; 2) If something goes wrong, it's usually easier to isolate and diagnose the problem; and 3) If and when you ever want to re-install the factory unit (perhaps when you trade or sell the vehicle), it can be just plugged back in. Wiring harnesses are cheap and what you pay for one can save you lots of time and future headaches. I've had to correct a few butcher jobs myself, and believe me it would have been a lot less expensive if they had just purchased a $10 harness in the first place. And in the case of the Colorado, a wiring harness will eliminate the need for extensive rewiring if you want to retain factory chimes or steering wheel controls.
Q:How can i wire my OEM harness i purchase at the parts store for my Electric fan. Is there a way for me to Not to wire it into the A/C compressor and it work . the instructions say to wire it into the A/C compressor wires. Mine does not work . Any other alt. I don't not want to wire a toggle switch
You can wire it into the ignition switch so it runs all of the time. Make sure you use a relay or you will burn out the ignition switch. Use a relay no matter how you hook it up. OR, you can buy a sensor that goes into a radiator hose. It's a sensor with a adjustment knob or screw that has a thin sensing tube coming out of it. You loosen the radiator hose clamp and hose, slip the tube into hose so it's in the coolant flow, and tighten the clamp. You set the knob or knobs on the module to come on at about 190 degrees. Then you wire it into the fan. Directions should be included. You must use a relay or it will burn out the module. Check out stores like Pep Boys or Autozone or Advance or JC Whitney for one. Not expensive and you can install it yourself. You can wire it so it only comes on if the ignition switch is on and the car is at 190 or better.
Q:I recently bought a 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty with LED tail lights. A load equilizer needs to be installed to eliminate the fast blinking. My understanding is that the load equalizer gets installed on the ground wire that is coming out from the LED bulb, is that correct? What color is the ground wire so I make sure that I have the correct wire? Thanks for the help!
if you go to the dealer, they have a special flasher relay to fix that. its behind the dash towards the middle near the radio, kind of a pain to get to but its not too bad to do and you won't have to cut into the factory wiring
Q:I will connect a wiring harness for my trailer lights form my truck. One set of cables costs $7 and I saw another one for $40The difference is a little box they told me is to compensate the voltage drop. The trailer only has 2 stop lights and 2 turn lights. Do I need the harness with the compensator?
No! Someone is trying to make big bucks off of you. Go with the regular harness.
