Q:can i use a US wire harness on a JDM engine?? i need one for my h22 and its been really hard for me to find it. i found one for a desent price, but its a US made wire harness for a h22 t-tec: yes you may have to extend wires abit but it will work i am using my usdm wiring on a jdm b16 motor. Google swaps and they usually tell you what u have to do.

Is best buy just trying to make me buy top of the line?: nope. its true dude. for gm's past 2000 it ranges from $85 to $150 for a wire harness. from 2006 and up the harness also controls parking assist, heated seats, climate control fan, warning chimes. for the alero it will stop rigning when she leaves her keys in the car and stops ringing when she leaves the lights on. ive heard it can cause airbags to not deploy, check engine lights to turn on. it depends on the particular car. but it is needed. another reason being there is no turn on for the radio, it is controlled through data. the $125 part receives the data and turns the radio on or off.

Q:I was going to install my stereo when I realized that someone removed the factory wiring harness. There are a bunch of different colored unlabeled wires. I don't know how to figure out what each wire goes to.: Meaning they cut the harness behind the plugs. So all you have are the wires, and not the main plug that the harness from the oem radio plugged into? You need to get either the oem schematics from a dealer, or the Chiltons or Haynes manual for the car - any of the three should give you the color-coded schematic for the underdash wiring, including wiring for the radio. To make things easier, if there's a junkyard near you - and you can get lucky enough to find another similar year Chevy (doesn't have to be a Corsica) that had the radio pulled without removing the plugs - you can get the plug and wires and just match color for color.
