Q:I am rebuilding an 1981 FLH. My question concerns the wiring harness. Coming off the starter relay there are four wires. Two are black ground wires, one is green going to the solonoid and the other is orange(pin 87) that is supposed to go up to a copper stud under the instrument panel. The previous owner just had this orange wire running straight over to the copper bar off the battery. The bike ran fine for years like this so I assume its ok. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me a little more about what the orange wire is for?
I also have an '81 FLH--- welcome to the elite club-- the orange wire is a power wire to the relay, mine is hooked to the power side of the main circuit breaker, same as the wire to the ignition switch. Also if you are re-wiring w/o diagram, make sure the power wire to the start button goes thru the neutral switch or the bike will be able to be started in gear---trust me thats a problem waiting to happen. Just found what I was looking for earlier--The relay has numbered contacts---No. 1 is the power wire--No. 2 goes to the solenoid--No. 3 goes to the start button--No. 4 goes to ground
Q:Who knows what is the name of the stuff in the picture? Everyday life is often seen, but want to buy and do not know what it is called. The
Into the communications company to do it, ZTE, Huawei, post and telecommunications can be!
Q:i have the complete wiring harness for my craftsman lawn mower. i have the ignition switch and all kids of wires that im pretty sure i dont need i just need/want it to start it and kill it.i need to know what wiring i need to use just for the ignition switch and if i am going to have to bypass other wiresit is an upright motor the flywheel is already on it i just need to know how to get power to the starter and to be able to use my key switch i plan on putting it on my go cart so i dont need half the wires on the wire harness.
The air gap is not a critical measurement so long as there is a gap. With the magnets adjacent to the coil the gap should be set. I don't think that you can install the coil upside down or at least you can't on my Kohler engine. You did not mess up the timing. You would have to remove the flywheel to effect the timing. I would check the spark with the new coil. If you are not getting spark, disconnect the ground wire from the coil and try it again. Most often when a coil is bad they quit completly when they get hot not just make the engine run bad. You could be working on the wrong problem. The first thing to do is determine if you have spark with the new coil.
Q:i have a wiring harness that leads from my radio and it's stuck inside the other wiring harness, it's cracked on the one side and i can't seem to get it out any suggestions would be helpful
Pull hard. It will come out There is slit in the corrugated loom.If it has that tape on it, note that it isn't adhesive. You can unwrap it like a mummy--takes a while--or slit it (Careful!) open and use electrical tape to replace it. If it's melted and cracked, it may take insulation from any wire it touched. There was a short--find and fix this Before you replace the wire or it'll do it again.
Q:I bought a wiring harness and im trying to connect it too my aftermarket stereo wire and my aftermarket stereo wire does not have an orange/white one like the other harness does. I looked and this orange/white wire is the dimmer wire. I was just wondering what that wire did and do i need it hooked up?
if your new stereo does not have a dimmer wire you do not hook that wire to anything.
Q:2005 HYUNDAI ELANTRA Changed all fuses and bulbs sockets work because lights will work one week and one week one wont . Im told its a wiring harness ? At first I was told a multi relay switch but that only fixed the headlights. Not the horn dash or rear lights.
Cancel that, as you mention the horn
Q:I have a 1986 toyota pickup with wing windows and a pocket below the stereo, and I'm trying to install a new Pioneer radio for it. All the cords in the toyota pickup are different chords than what they are for the new wire harness i'm trying to install. I'm trying to figure out which cord is the one that will turn it on and the cord that connected to the ignition. I'm really confused and I don't want to buy an adapter for it because I'm converting the pickup into a four speaker system.
have you ever tryed OKorder? uncertain of your region yet autotraders has a tendency to have a transformation and save software so which you will easily paintings your guy or woman deals w/otheres of comparable interest
Q:I am going to put a trailer hitch receiver on an 2008 Buick Enclave. Any one know where the wiring harness is under the vehicle for the 4 prong plug?
Should be near the rear bumper in wires leading to tail lights
Q:Do they make wire harness for a 2005 F150 yet?
i have been installing for about six years now and i have never had a problem putting a radio in a 2005 f-150 you can get the harness at any best buy or car audio palce that installs radios. i have done a couple hundred of these trucks for radios and never seen a problem.
Q:I bought a salvaged vehicle and the door was switched with one of a different year or model Im not sure. I cant work the power locks because the harness does not match the plug. I found one for a 1999 civic ex but I dont know if it will also work on the lx. Any suggestions?
go to your local honda dealer and have them check the door harness part number to see if they are the same number. the door harness can be bought and the price is not that bad.
