Q:Hello I got in a wreck in my dodge ram and wires wer torn out from a harness and the female side of the harness is in tact but the male side is broken and the wires are out of the male side. So should I just cut the female side of harness and twist the wires together ? And in the future get a harness on it ? Q:I am wanting to buy a harness for my vehicle to install a system in it. When I am researching the harness options, they all say not for premium systems. My vehicle has a stock amp in it, is that what it is talking about?: Possibly--it depends on the vehicle. For example, most Chrysler Infinity systems will work fine with a standard wire harness, even though it says not for premium systems. Many GM vehicles have factory amps, but they're designed for use with a standard head unit, so they'll work fine with an after-market head unit using a standard harness. On the other hand, most Bose and JBL systems use a low-level output from the head unit to the stock amp(s), so a standard harness wouldn't work as well unless you used it with a premium sound adapter module. I'm pretty sure the standard harness will work for you Santa Fe's Monsoon system. You'll have to make sure to connect the wire in the harness that activates the factory amplifier.

Q:hello. i took out my old radio from my 1995 jeep cherokee. and i cut the wires from the old wiring harness. and now they are to short. and i want to put back in my old radio and still have the little adaptar/harness. . but the wires are two short to connect. how can i take those out safely so i can take the metal ends of them and put them onto the wires in the jeep then snap them back into the harness.: get a wire stretcher from parts store.

Q:I have a 1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria with the Premium sound package. I went to the local audio shop and they don't know what wiring harness I should use. It says for 1983-89 Crown Victoria or 1990-91 LTD Crown Victoria so it leaves mine out. Any advice?: They are correct. You cannot simply hook up a vehicle participant to a wall socket. Car avid gamers use DC electrical energy. Your wall offers AC electrical energy. If you hook it immediately up your CD participant will probably be performed for, and would possibly trap on hearth or explode.

Q:and if i could cana i just connect the wires togethers and put elec tap around it: yeah, you can do it that way, not as good of a connection but as long as you make sure you get all of the right wires together, i have done it, but the colors are different for every make of car.

Q:I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. It has a regular factory cd stereo and I want to install a new aftermarket stereo. I have found the wiring harness, but it cost at least $60. Can I bypass the harnesses' and wire direct. I also found a wiring diagram for my stereo to make sure I get the wires right. Oh and will I void any warranties by doing this? Thanks for any info: Every stereo comes with a a bunch of wires sticking out of a plug which plugs into the back of the stereo. You then have to get an adapter for your specific make and model of your car which will also have plug on one end. The wires from the stereo plug need to be connected to the wires on the car adapter. The adapter comes with a diagram which tells you what wires are for each function. When your done, you should have on big harness which on one end fits into your stock connector and then the other end goes into the stereo. If the adapter doesnt come with a wiring diagram, usually it says on the wires themselves what that wire goes to. All you have to do is match them up. (ie. LR speaker+ to LR speaker+ etc.) Usually the kits run $10 to $20 depending on your car. Best Buy almost always has the adapter you'll need. It shouldn't void your warranty because you aren't cutting any of the cars wiring to do this.

Q:I have a 1994 Acura Integra LS manual transmission and the wire harness is bad, my friend has a 1992 Acura Integra LS also with a manual transmission and he has the wire harness for it still. Would it be compatible with my car?: Maybe. The 1992 is second generation while the 1994 is third generation. However, if the connectors are the same there is still a good chance they are compatible. EDIT - you can check out the part numbers for the exact harness in the source. If they are the same part number you are in if not, I doubt the store would stock two different part numbers of the same thing.

Q:i have a pontiac sunfire 2000 and the wiring harness is like 110$ but for a 99 it s 10.99 why does it make such a big difference? i have the simple version no power locks or windows: because their completly different the 110$ one retains all of the chimes and warning signals, the 10$ one does not it has nothing to do with the year of the car, you can buy the 00 stereo harness for 10 bucks as well. just go to a guy audio shop or search the internet you dont need the harness that retains the vehicles chimes. only difference without it is if your key is in the ignition and your door is open it doesnt go ding ding ding foreverthats all really find the 10$ one for your car, its out there. i have a 02 gand am, same thing with mine. mine was 15 bucks for just the straight harness. not warning signal one

Q:I recently purchased a wiring harness so i could hook up my aftermarket stereo to my 2001 chevy blazer. The Harness i have has every color of wire except for Blue/White which is the wire that i am suppose to hook up my remote wire too from my amplifier. So i dont know where to hook the remote wire too, do i need to get another harness or.?And another question on the harness i have for my pioneer DEH-P4600MP it has all colors for the harness for my blazer except for Orange/White wire. This wire is dimmer so would i just not even worry about hooking that wire up to anything?: Since a stock receiver does not have a remote lead, some aftermarket wiring harnesses will not include it. The head unit however, will have a lead usually marked as such and sometimes terminated with a female bullet connector. Just connect that lead to the remote wire going to your amp remote terminal. If the Blazer wiring harness includes a dimmer lead, connect the orange/white to it. If not, just leave it disconnected and protect the end so that it does not short against other wires or ground. With it disconnected, the receiver lighting will not dim when you turn on the lights.
