Q:Are electrons transferred from metals to nonmetals or nonmetals to metals? Why does this occur?
The alkaline earth metals beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, and radium, react strongly with water but not quite so strongly as the alkali metal to its immediate left in the periodic table. Although compounds of these metals might appear in a battery, the battery plates themselves wouldn't normally be made of anything like the pure metals. Even mag wheels are really a magnesium-aluminum alloy. Beryllium isn't as reactive as the other alkaline earths but it is poisonous.
Q:Does a Metal Dector find DS games and video games?
Heavy metal fans from the 1980's classify a lot of stuff in the past two decades as false metal. Examples would be In Flames, Amon Armath, and just about any Nu Metal band you can come up with. Personally, I like Mudvayne, which falls under this category. At the same point in time, I don't think of them as metal anyway.
Q:Why is this considered Black Metal?
The most active metals are in the groups furthest to the left. Therefore the answer is: A) Alkali Metals, also known as Group 1. They are the most active because of the presence of only 1 valence electron...making them easily ready to bond. I hope that helped! :D
Q:POLL: Heavy Metal or Rap?
It's a gas, honey. Are gases metal or metalloid?
Q:Hair Bands or Thrash Metal?
Metal atoms in pure metal are very close together and are able to transfer heat easily via conduction from one atom exciting the other atoms next to it. So the amount of energy it takes to heat a metal is relatively small to that of water for example. Non-metals have crystal structures generally farther apart and thus don't transfer energy as efficiently.
Q:Heavy Metal recommendations?
they are, well two of them are, lithium and sodium are used to make some batteries. heres a short piece on group 1 elements (known as the alkali metals) from wikipedia : The alkali metals are a series of chemical elements in the periodic table. The alkali metals comprise the group 1 elements, along with hydrogen. The Alkali metals are lithium (Li), sodium (Na), potassium (K), rubidium (Rb), caesium (Cs), and francium (Fr).[1] Hydrogen (H), although nominally also a member of Group 1, rarely exhibits behavior comparable to the alkali metals. all alkali metals' outermost electrons lie in an s-orbital. The alkali metals provide one of the best examples of group trends in properties in the periodic table, with elements exhibiting well characterized homologous behavior. For instance, when moving down the table: all alkali metals show decreasing electronegativity, increasing reactivity, and decreasing melting and boiling point. In general, their densities increase, with the notable exception that potassium is less dense than sodium. All discovered alkali metals are naturally occurring, although francium is the second-rarest naturally occurring element, after astatine. All are highly reactive metals under standard conditions. Experiments have been conducted to attempt the synthesis of ununennium (Uue), likely the next member of the group, but have all met with failure, but because all elements with lower atomic numbers have been discovered, it is likely to be found in the near future. However, ununennium may not be an alkali metal due to relativistic effects.
Q:Do power metal and progressive metal count as extreme metal?
i dont
Q:which elements would most likely react with group 2a metals?
Most likely the sheet metal from Home Despot is galvanized steel. Not much for interesting patinas there, either a whitish powdery finish or a rust color, depending on how much zinc is on the surface of the steel. The best metals for patinas are copper based alloys. Brass is probably the worst, with bronze being the almost best. Copper would be the ultimate best. There may be some copper sheet at HD, or other hardware stores. You might try some roofing supply outfits, sometimes copper sheet is used as flashing on finer homes or historical restorations. As far as what chemical(s) to use, the application, and preservation of the finished patina is a whole 'nuther question. Finding the metal is the first step. Good luck
Q:extreme metal v.s core metal?
in my opinion i dont really think that kurt cobain was 'metal' but there are other kinda of metal music such as death metal and speed metal and such. but i think that metal is bands such as metalica and pantrea.. or arch enemy
Q:how metals r moulded?
