while changing a lighting fixture i accidently pulled out the white wire while trying to strip it of the three caps in the electrical box im not sure which one it goes intheres a cap with two black wires and one white running too it another cap with three white wire running two it and a cap with a black wire running too it and the other black wire goes too the fixture which one of these caps do the white wire that connects too the fixture belong in?
Your fixture is wired as a switch loop. Power comes in at the ceiling box and continues onto other parts of the circuit from there as well. One of the pairs of wires is for the switch. The cable containing the black wire that went to the fixture also contains the white wire that is HOT and is connected to the remaining black wires. All the remaining white wires are neutral and need to be connected together with a wirenut. But before connecting them, also include a white 14-gauge pigtail with the connection. Use a beige or red wirenut. Yellow will be too small. After you've made the wiring connections, simply connect that white pigtail to the white wire of the fixture, and the black wire to the black.
I keep trying to strip this damned wire but the copper wire inside the tubeing constantly ends up getting split apart instead of staying together. Im pretty sure Im doing it right Ive done it before easily. The wire is very old though could that be the problem?
Grab wire, and twist until it's back together, problem solved.
And how can you not get them in hair straightener wires? Thanks!
Short in a wire is when two wires either don't connect cuz they're not long enough, OR when the wires start to smoke or burn or catch on fire.
Which is live and which is not, there is a black wire and a blue wire?
The oven is rated at 220 volts they are both hot conductors.
Does anyone know what color the neutral safety wire is on a 1995 suburban? The one in the ignition harness.
The yellow wire on the ignition switch harness goes to the transmission range switch (aka park/neutral safety switch) on the transmission, and then the purple wire on the transmission range switch goes to the starter solenoid.
What wires plug in under the center console of a 2000 firebird, there is a 5 wire plug that I can't figure out where it plugs into
You may want to go to one of the many forums for F-body cars for help(links below). Can you include a link to a picture? I'll try and find a wiring diagram.

US electrical tech question from a non electrically minded fag. I have a dimmer controlling a light and a single light switch controlling a fan. There is one blue wire going to the dimmer and one blue wire going to the switch. There is one black wire going to a 2nd terminal on the switch, which is also connected to a 2nd wire leading to the 2nd terminal on the dimmer. Now tell me how to wire an outlet into this ******* mess.Inb4 op is a fag, inb4 op should post this somewhere else, inb4 turn the power on and touch the wires, inb4 op can't inb4
From the sounds of your description, you are in the UK or a country where they use UK wireing system and standards. If ythis so and by outlet you mean a receptacle, then you do not wire an outlet to the lighting circuit. Receptacles are wired on separate circuits only meant for receptacles. Take CRISDRUMCHICK's advice, hire a reputable, qualified electrician. You do not know enough to do the job safely. Inb4 op is a fag, inb4 op should post this somewhere else, inb4 turn the power on and touch the wires, inb4 op can't inb4 - What is this nonsense? It looks and is degrading and uncalled for in Yahoo Answers.
