Metals form entire networks of atoms called metallic bonds. The outer electrons in metals are bound quite loosely, and they can jump from atom to atom, but they cannot escape the metal without an input of energy. These roaming electrons are a source of physical strength, forming a metallic bond; basically, it forms one giant molecule. Because the number of atoms present in a metal is dependent on the mass present, there is no fixed molecular formula, and you just write the metal symbol. Non-metals and metals tend to form ionic bonds with each other.
well, this whole metal genre is so confusing, and i was making sure if sonic syndicate was...
Oh, I love you for asking this question, Norwegian Black Metal is my favourite genre, not a big lover of trash, Im a big Megadeth fan though, Slayer a close second. My favourite band is Emperor, loved them for over 10 years, im actually bidding on their demos on okorder and got my hands on some pretty nice stuff, including Wrath of the Tyrant wild rags 93 demo on tape, and the Vinyl Presentation! Yup, I have it!! Fave Norwegian bands: EMPEROR Darkthrone Mayhem Gehenna Borknagar Carpathian Forest Burzum Thorns Satyricon Immortal (looking forward to their new one) Limbonic Art I think In The Nightside Eclipse and Transilvanian Hunger are both Black Metal masterpieces.
Avoid just general - more specific. Feel free to cross and combine to make your resulting genre.

I like all sub genres of it, but whats so bad about nu metal?
Metal is not liked huh? Tell that the millions of people who like it. Anyway yea tech death musicians are perfectionists and you kinda need to with the technical death metal atmosphere. I don't think there is a drummer out there that is more talented then a death metal drummer to be honest.
There's something I've been wondering. Where is metal going to go next? Thrash was created in the pursuit of heavier and even more extreme metal, and then black and death doing the same, eventually killing thrash. With death and black metal being the apex of metal extremity right now, where are we going to go next? Will new metal bands keep seeking new extremities, or are we at the peak? Should we be looking into grindcore and it's subgenres such as deathgrind and goregrind for the future? This is speaking in terms of metal advancing in extremity and brutality, not thinking about other genres of metal that aren't created in the quest for extreme metal.
Metals like iron, potassium, zinc, and magnesium are found in the human bloodstream and are needed or else we'd all be dead.
