FAQ

A horizontal current-carrying wire, free to move in Earth’s gravitational field, is suspended directly above a second, parallel, current-carrying wire. (a) In what direction is the current in the lower wire? (b) Can the upper wire be held in stable equilibrium due to the magnetic force of the lower wire? Explain.I assume they travel in opposite directions if they are both charged the same, but I think my instructor wants something more specific. Any help is much appreciated.
Current carrying wire does not have extra charge but only flow So there is no electrostatic force between them. The magnetic force is present only when current flows through both wires. If it flows in the same direction then they attract. So if the lower wire is fixed and you wish to suspend the above it must repel it to overcome the gravitational force due to earth acting on it. Hence the wires must carry currents in opposite direction.
Looking for legit (good) speaker wire?or does it depend? are all speaker wire good?the speaker wires are for car audio
Hi, look for oxigen free copper wire, that is UWG certified first off. Then shielding comes into play and then wire twist and then wire strand count. Tsunami, rockford fosgate are pretty common so start there first.
I need help installing a Pioneer DEH-P3700MP in a Saturn S Series 2001, the wiring harness does not fit and need to know how to connect the wires. Which wires go to what on the Saturn?
Go to the local stero shop(car audio) and get the adaptor harness for $10-20 bucks. It is the only way to do these without a full on wire diagram of the car and electrician skills which, by your question, I assume you aren't really good at...
I need the wiring codes for a factory radio to install a new one.

I have a universal 02 sensor 4 wire (black, black, white and blue) the stock is white black and grey how do I wire it? thanks :)
Keep in mind the sensor has a signal wire, a ground wire and a heater wire (or wires). Good luck!
I have 2 wires coming up a conduit. i need to put those wires into a timer and then to my pump. can anyone explain or has a website with diagrams
I agree entire heartedly with Tatimspas and that guy that reported to apply the white twine is fortunate he hasnt harm or perhaps killed somebody(possibly he has who knows). You woulnt have faith how many properties i'm going into and locate basically that top subject inflicting a sink or perhaps bathtub to alter into energized
I'm splicing four pieces of 14-2 gauge copper wire to an 16 gauge electrical cord. The copper wire doesn't have any covering on it. Is it okay to connect the grounds, then attach it to my keyless lampholder? Or is something bad going to happen then?
Ground wires are typically bare. Just be sure as you put the wires and light back in the box that the ground wire is not near the connector with the black wire. The black one is the one that bites !
I recently purchased a 1-wire alternator and I'm not sure what to do with the wire harness that was on my stock alternator. Also not sure what the three wires on it go to. Can anyone experienced in alternator wiring tell me what these wires do and if it is ok to leave them unhooked?
the three wires are prolly alternator turn on one wire for the guage and one random maybe ground or something what you need to do is look at the instructions that came with the 1 wire alternator to see if it needs a turn on lead if so you can check the three wires you have with a meter to see which wires put out twelve volts when the ignition is on this is a turn on/ignition lead then youll wanna find the lead that goes to the guage on the dash and make sure it gets twelve volts so the guage reads the other can be capped off
