- If that stereo doesn't have it's original harness then it won't work. You also need a new harness for your car. If I knew the year/make/and model of your car I could give you suggests. Peace.

- As long as you have basic knowledge of soldering and you are working on wires that aren't connected to the power you should be fine. You could use shrink wraps to re-insulate the wires. The new insulation should last for years, all depends on what kind of atmospheric or mechanical conditions apply to your harness.
- Q: I am installing a trailer hitch on my van. Is the plug for the trailer lights already under the van or do i need to wire it? If not, do i just have to go to the dealer and get a plug for the wiring harness or do I have to go from scratch and hardwire it? Thanks
- There is a connector for the harness just behind the engine. You can buy the harness at the dealer and then its just a matter of connecting and routing.
- Q: I have a 1996 Mazda protege lx. The problem is that my stock car radio has two slots for connecting wireharness and when I disconnect them from my stock radio, I'm stuck with two wireharness. My aftermarket stero has only 1 wireharness slot. How am i supposed to install this aftermarket stero if it only has 1 slot for the wire harness but my car has 2 wireharness?
- Go to Best Buy and see their car audio installation department. There you will find wire harness refit kits just for the problem you are experiencing. Good Luck
- Q: I have a 2003 Harley Davidson soft tail (with a carburetor) that needs a new main wire harness. I recently purchased a harness for a 2000 model 'Deuce', and everything plugs in just like the old one except it (the Deuce) has a 8-pin connector going to the turn signal module instead of 12-pins (like the original). Any info anyone can give me regarding the differences in these harnesses would be helpful and greatly appreciated, however right now my biggest objective is to just get a spark to the spark plug so I can start the bike. Thanks in advance for any advice.
- You have the wrong harness. The 2000's use a straight turn signal module. In 2001, HD integrated a factory security system into the bkes. When they did this, they integrated the security system into the turn signal module which is called a turn signal/security module (TSSM). You would see this in the wiring diagram if you had a FACTORY service manual.this is why you NEVER attempt any work on your own without a manual!!! A manual will pay for itself the first time it saves you from an experience like this. What was wrong with your original harness?.What's up with no spark, due to the harness?

- Q: fuel pump was pulled out and direct power run to it - it works fine. when plugged back into wire harness, it gets no power. Wire harness appears to be good. I bought a fuel pump relay that i'm getting ready to try. I was wondering if there is any other thoughts on what this could be.
- yes try a new relay and if that,s not it then you either have a bad plug- in or a break in the hot wire. you might have to run another wire up to the relay. did you check the pump fuse?
