Q: I have a 1997 Ford Explorer Sport 4X4 and I am looking for a engine wire harness. Do anyone know where I can find one?
It is very common in salvage yards from roll overs, since Ford was recommending tire pressure of 26 psi. So you should be able to get a wire harness for $10 or so.
Q: i need help on the back park of the radio or plug or wire harness whatever you wanna call it but i need help on the wire color what goes with what because the wires on the harness is different than the ordinary new aftermarket radio. So please you guys help me out!
make it easy on yourself and go up to Best Buy or Circuit City and buy a quick connect for your car. it connects directly into the back of the aftermarket radio and into the car harness.
Q: I am rebuilding an 1981 FLH. My question concerns the wiring harness. Coming off the starter relay there are four wires. Two are black ground wires, one is green going to the solonoid and the other is orange(pin 87) that is supposed to go up to a copper stud under the instrument panel. The previous owner just had this orange wire running straight over to the copper bar off the battery. The bike ran fine for years like this so I assume its ok. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me a little more about what the orange wire is for?
I also have an '81 FLH--- welcome to the elite club-- the orange wire is a power wire to the relay, mine is hooked to the power side of the main circuit breaker, same as the wire to the ignition switch. Also if you are re-wiring w/o diagram, make sure the power wire to the start button goes thru the neutral switch or the bike will be able to be started in gear---trust me thats a problem waiting to happen. Just found what I was looking for earlier--The relay has numbered contacts---No. 1 is the power wire--No. 2 goes to the solenoid--No. 3 goes to the start button--No. 4 goes to ground
Q: I bought a newer pioneer cd player from my friend and all It needs is a wiring harness, where can I get one?
at your local best buy or circuit city for about fifteen to twenty dollars. if there is a swap meet or flea market, they will probably have it as well.
Q: I need to connect my radio illumination wire on my 1990 honda accord but I dont have a illumination wire connected to my radio. But I have the wire. And there isnt a dimmer wire in my car. How would I go about this?
You would have to figure out which wire behind the headlight dimmer switch is the dimmer wire, and connect your radio dimmer wire to that with a longer piece of wire and secure your connections. Im not sure the wire color but it should be one of the thin wires coming off of the headlight dimmer switch, you may have to test the wires with an ohm meter to find the one that drops voltage as you dim the lights!!!!!!!
Q: Here is my situation: I have a a Pioneer DEH-1600 already installed in my 99 accord which my dad paid to have it installed at pepboys. I recently just purchased a Pioneer DEH-1300mp to replace my old one because I wanted an aux input. The problem is that I know little to nothing about wiring. I can take things apart and install things but I have never tried wiring. The stereo I purchased came with a wire harness as well and I was wondering if I have to completely rewire the harness or if I could just unhook the old stereo and plug the new one in. Especially since the two pioneer stereos are the same model line, I would think that they would use the same wire harness. But unfortunately I do not know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Compare the wire colors in the plugs since those are standardized. Generally if it is the one that has a fuse, usually 10 amp, below the connector on the back of the head unit they are all the same. My Sanyo, Sony Aiwa (Sony in drag) and JVC all use the same harness and connector pinout and as such swap out in a matter of seconds. I have an older Pioneer that has a different connector (it looks like computer ATX motherboard power connectors) and I found out the hard way that a Clarion with the same connector did NOT use the same pinout. Some of the speaker and power wires were swapped between the 2. Yours should be the same but check them to be sure.
Q: I know very little about cars and stereo systems. I just got a car the other day, and it had a Kenwood head unit installed. Only problem is, it doesn't work. Some of the buttons are broken, rendering it useless. I was looking at getting a new head unit (probably JVC) and I was wondering if I would have to go through all of the wiring. Or would it be as simple as unplugging it from the other unit and plugging it into the new one? Details:1999 Ford EscortOld head unit: Kenwood KDC-MP628Possible new unit: JVC KD-S37
It will not be plug and play. Different companies use different pinouts for there harnesses. Even if you go with the same company they tend to change them over time so that might not even work. If you are lucky the previous one was installed with a vehicle harness adaptor so wiring in the new harness will be easy. If it was wired straight in it could be a little tricky as you may not have a lot of wire to work with.
Q: Does anyone know if the JVC KD-S33 uses a large or small wiring harness, i know its a 16 pin harness i need, but im not sure if i need the large or small
i think its a large i have the same radio in my lowlow and i had to use a large wiring harness.
Q: I have a 98 jeep grand Cherokee and I just bought a pioneer stereo for it. We got a wiring harness and connected everything how it goes except 3 wires ( mute, dimmer and illumination) but the radio won't come on. Should I be connecting those 3 wires? If so, where?
I dont know what any of those do so im gonna say no. You must either have a wire wrong or a blown fuse which a wrong wire will result in a blown fuse. Maybe your power and ground accidently touched when you were installing it. There is usually a fuse under the hood and in your inside fuse panel.
Q: I want to put 9006 6000K HID Kit I can install it myself I just don't understand the whole 55 Watts and 100 Watts thing.I need to know if my car can handle the HIDs without the Wire harness and relay. According to what I have heard the Wire harness and Relay are used if there isn't enough power to fire up the HID ballasts. If there is not enough power the Ballasts begin to fail. Do I need the Wire Harness and Relay for my 96 Honda Accord?
Sounds like someone's trying to sell you stuff you don't need. I had mine installed (can't do anything that technical myself), and whatever I gave them, is what they used. For sure no additional wire harness, aside from what was in the kit.
