Q:. . . or, can it only cause a loss of amps delivered to the end of the wire in the wiring harness? The voltage drop being seen in this case is constant.
i'm going with no on this one. it must have stopped off at something or has been tapped to another component. can you isolate down the lead where exactly the drop occurs?
Q:I am totally clueless to this stuff. I want to get a wiring harness that will fit a Pioneer single DIN head unit and will also clip into my 2012 Silverado without having to cut any wires. Help?
Just go to a car audio store and ask for 2012 chevy silverado wire harness($10-$15).it clicks in to the part that was connected with the stalk sterio. They shuld be the same color as the ones on back of your new sterio, just match em and there u go!.you'll need a dash kit as well
Q:I have a 2008 dodge avenger with the premium sound system and navigation head unit. I wanted more power so I added a 4 channel amp. I ended up losing my mids by doing this, but didn't mind at the time as I had also added some subs, however I now want my mids and better overall sound so I bought an aftermarket radio. My question is, since I no longer use the factory amp and don't really care if I can use the steering wheel controls (getting remote with new radio), can I use a simple regular wire harness or do I still have to get one meant for premium sound systems? Also, the car had a double din navigation unit, the new unit will also be a double din unit, would I need a sleeve, or would it simply slide in replacing the stock radio? Thank you in advance for any help.
It'll come with a new sleeve. usually Premium speakers as the dealers call them are still cheap speakers. Why not just replace the speakers also? you're input is good with the amp you installed but the output is still those cheap factory speakers. You'll need a new harness since you're replacing the headunit.
Q:I own a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500. The trailer harness is rusted and I was wondering if I could replace that with a new one from autozone? Any suggestions?
have fun it going to be a pain in the but
Q:i have a 88 mustang that i am rebuilding and i have a 91 engine in it with mass air where can i get the wiring diagram for the computer harness
the difficulty is you're proscribing your self to the internet in this seek. My adventure has been that there are circumstances once you ought to close the laptop off and make a journey on your close by library. flow to the vehicle section and verify out between the Chilton's manuals or Hayes Manuals for that year you're looking. you will get severe high quality wiring diagrams.
Q:I would like to install an aftermarket radio in my 2004 chevy impala, actually my dad will probably install it since he sa lot more experience with automotive stuff. i have been doing some looking at other questions posted on here and some talk about how the gauges will be messed up if i remove the stock radio. will this still happen if i get the wiring harness, or does the harness solve this problem. If I were to take it and have it installed at a store would this not be a problem?

Q:I am installing a trailer hitch on my van. Is the plug for the trailer lights already under the van or do i need to wire it? If not, do i just have to go to the dealer and get a plug for the wiring harness or do I have to go from scratch and hardwire it? Thanks
There is a connector for the harness just behind the engine. You can buy the harness at the dealer and then its just a matter of connecting and routing.
Q:Any idea where in the world I can get one. Buying a new car right now is out of the question.
Yes, for genuine Toyota parts at about 30% off MSRP plus UPS SH, I found and have dealt with 2 Toyota dealers in Texas: Toyota of Dallas and Toyota of Richardson TX for like 10 years. You can find the Toyota parts catalog, the part number, the suggested price and their discount right on the internet, call the Internet Parts Department and fax in your order along with credit card. Locally if I need a genuine Toyota part, I have to watch for a coupon in the mail from local Toyota dealers and most of the time, the discount is only 15% and occasionally 20%. A wiring harness can be expensive but if you want to keep your Toyota for Life, then I recommend only using genuine Toyota parts bec we owned 5 Toyotas from brand new and the longest was 1993 Toyota Camry LE with 211,000 miles before my wife and her sisters decided SUVs for safety and we bought 2005 Highlander 6 cylinder AWD Hope the Above Info Helps!
Q:If you can send links or pictures, that will be perfect THANKS.
a company called schoshe makes harnesses for just about every car that will plug directly into the factory harness.you simply wire the harness to the new radio as directed and plug into the factory harness.most every wal-mart sells them for $20 or so.
Q:I want to put 9006 6000K HID Kit I can install it myself I just don't understand the whole 55 Watts and 100 Watts thing.I need to know if my car can handle the HIDs without the Wire harness and relay. According to what I have heard the Wire harness and Relay are used if there isn't enough power to fire up the HID ballasts. If there is not enough power the Ballasts begin to fail. Do I need the Wire Harness and Relay for my 96 Honda Accord?
Sounds like someone's trying to sell you stuff you don't need. I had mine installed (can't do anything that technical myself), and whatever I gave them, is what they used. For sure no additional wire harness, aside from what was in the kit.
