Q: I have a 1994 Geo Tracker. I have a AIWA CTX409 (is ISO/DIN compliant and conform to the ISO Wire Color Code standard if that makes a difference)head unit in. I want to put a Kenwood KDC-MPV619 in. Do I need to get a new reciever wire harness or would the old one be ok?? I don't know much about the car audio and such so annnny help would be greatly appreciated :).
If an adapting wire harness was used to install the Aiwa, you can cut away the part of the harness that plugged into the back of the Aiwa radio and crimp or solder the Kenwood on instead. No need to purchase another harness; the wire colors should be the same.
Q: i have a 1998 chrysler sebring with a infinity sound system in it. i bought the line out converter to splice on to run RCA cables but which colored wires do i splice into? i noticed that the rear left speakers are yellow and blue and the rear right are red and yellow in the trunk but is it the same at the harness? A color coded diagram for the infinity system harness would be great!
i comprehend you may't have too useful of an amp because of the fact it could blow your subs, and which you ought to attempt and experience the rms rankings, yet what in case you has too sturdy of subs? in case you deliver too lots power on your sub, you hazard unfavourable it. The cone of the speaker and the mechanical areas that make it pass might ruin under the strain. fairly, too little power may additionally injury your subwoofer — in certainty, this is rather extra common than injury brought about by utilising overpowering. whilst the quantity is grew to become up and the amp does not have sufficient power, the sign will become distorted, or clipped. This distorted sign might reason areas of the speaker to overheat, warp and soften. no longer good! you do no longer ought to experience speaker and amp wattages precisely. An amp with a much better output than the speaker's score won't inevitably injury the speaker — only turn the amp down slightly in case you hear distortion from the sub and don't run the speaker at rather loud volumes for long sessions. Likewise, you would be comfortable with a decrease powered amp in case you keep the quantity down and don't feed a distorted sign to the sub you will deliver the amp into clipping Clipping Clipping happens whilst an amplifier is asked to furnish extra modern to a speaker than the amp is able to doing. whilst an amplifier clips, it actually cuts off the tops and bottoms of the musical waveforms that this is attempting to reproduce, for this reason the term. This introduces a extensive volume of distortion into the output sign. Clipping could be heard as a crunching sound on musical peaks. that reasons distorted sound which will injury your subs over the years
Q: Heres where it is and what it looks like:It's in a 2007 Ford Mustang 4.0I'm taking out my shaker right now - my car is in my driveway with everything disconnected except the stupid wiring harness behind the place where you set where you want your air to come out (ie defrost, down by the feet, etc)
Um. Welll pull the HU out. Find a Clip or push down piece of plastic on the harness. SHould come off with a little bit pulling.
Q: If I put a wiring harness for a 98 Jeep wrangler manual into my 98 Jeep wrangler automatic will there be a difference?
Hardcore Jeeps are trailered, and customarily have instruction manual transmissions and flow circumstances from 3/4 vehicles, alongside with the axles. They run total flow slowly ratios of 88:one million or bigger. something much less is a street Jeep, easily, and maximum do not bypass offroad extra desirable than as quickly as a month, in spite of each and every of the toys screwed on them. Automatics artwork effective on them. experienced motor vehicle drivers can take care of place on great boulders without burning the grasp and rolling backwards. It has plenty to do with ability and motor vehicle dynamics. I project to wager maximum green Jeepers carry their motor vehicle street Jeeps to the great hills to aim, so its no ask your self the extra advantageous equipped crawlers make it up extra in many cases. there is extra to Jeeping than getting intimate with each and every great boulder on your way.
Q: I had a Sony head unit in my car, and it was stolen, so I was wondering if I could go out and buy another head unit, and just plug it in as long as the plug were the same? Are all of them wired the same way or does each head unit have it's own wiring design?

Q: I have several bicycle computers that the harness have broken .some of them have a nick on the cable and others show no signs of damage .Does anyone out there know where to get replacement harnesses or how I would go about fixing t he harnesses I have. These are 'old' cycle computers out of style and I really do not want to buy a new cycle computer when what I really want is a new harness.I an particularly interested in the Echo j12 echowell? as I have several of those cycle computers because I liked the average cadence feature.I do not want to buy another cycle computer that the harness will probably break on and I will add to the collection of cycle computers with no functioning harness. I want to fix or replace the harnesses I have
If you can see an obvious nick trim back the plastic insulation and rejoin it. There will be two conductors so make sure that when they are rejoined they don't short together. Use tape and separate the soldered joins by at least 1/4 inch. Most breaks in the wire occur with in an inch of either the pickup or the holder so you could just try shortening the wire a few inches. ( If the holder and the pickup are not molded) Or just replace the wire. Any electronics store should be able to supply the wire. Most pickups have a reed switch which closes as the magnet passes nearby. They sometimes get dirt/water in them which shorts them out. A spray with wd40 can fix this. If the computer is OK you can get a speed reading just by shorting it's contacts together every few seconds. Good luck
Q: i have a 57 bel air and it needs to be re wired, and one shop i took it to said they would do it for a couple thousand, which i know is very vague but im assuming that means around 2 grand. he said hed put in a good wore harness/fusebox and rewire it properly and he is very trustworthy, and he said its around 30 hours of work to rewire the whole thing. whats a fair price for this? wire harness included (he said the ones he uses run 300-500 depending on which ones, and comes with a nice fusebox)
The problem is that job is not listed in the labor estimating guide lol so basically your going to just get your best estimate and go with it. if it came to my shop i would remove the old harness and just build another one identical to it using new connectors where possible and using the original ones where needed. Keep looking around at different shops and keep in mind a dealership has its name to stand behind, the small guys only have there reputations and work, you might be surprised if you keep looking around you just might finds somebody that still enjoys what they do.
Q: I am trying to install a double din stereo in my 08 impala and i cant find the right wire harness to fit in
Take it to your local professional stereo installer
Q: I know there are different wiring harnesses for different head units.
Every head unit is going to have a specific harness that is designed for the head unit by the manufacturer of the head unit. So, if you are looking at a Kenwood head unit, it'll have a Kenwood harness. If you are looking at a Pioneer head unit, it'll have a Pioneer harness. They also make wiring harnesses that are vehicle specific. This will plug into the harness in your Honda, and wire up to the harness coming off of the aftermarket head unit. So, you have two harnesses that wire together. Basically, you can purchase any head unit, and as long as you purchase the correct harness for the vehicle side of things you'll be all set.
Q: I recently had a hitch intstalled on my car for my bike rack. However, I'm having a tough time deciding if I want to install the wiring harness for trailer lights, just in case I ever decide to tow anything.I will primarily use the hitch for the bike rack. But, it's not inconceivable that I may be inclined to tow a small trailer occasionally if I had the wiring harness. However, my car does not have the connector that you can use to plug the harness into. So, it would require splicing directly into my car's wiring. Since the car is still under warranty, I don't like the sound of that very much. I don't want someone messing with the electical system if they could accidently mess it up somehow.
Hold up before you start cutting wires, First, many auto part stores has a do-it-yourself kit where you can Plug into your existing wiring. It comes with easy to follow instructions to install it properly, and installation is basically finding a connection point on your cars frame that plugs into the tail lamps, usually just behind the bumper. unplug it, then you place the kit's connecter inbetween what you just unplugged , then reinsert the plugs in that and, bam you now have the ability to connect to a trailer with lights.
