I just replaced my water pump.fixed.. A week later I've been noticing he might of over filled it because.were the coolant goes.steam comes.out.the little.while plus water.. And.before.I.started my.car I noticed.it was all empty now and my.engine sounds like a mini diesel when it runs.. What's the deal? And I.already filled it up with coolant again
Anytime you replace your water pump. You should replace the thermostat and gasket. Also check the upper and lower radiator hoses to see if either one of them are collapsed. It wouldn't hurt to replace the radiator cap.
I replaced the water pump on my 1997 acura cl 3.0 v6 vtec. I set the timing how alldata said to. (Lined up marks on timing drive pulley and both cam pulleys) and put it all back together. Now when I start it the motor runs rough for about 45 seconds then it smooths out but won't rev past 3000 rpm. What are some possibilites it could be?
Ive seen this before. u replaced the water pump, which means u drained the coolant, replaced the pump, and filled it back up again. When u filled it back up u created big air pockets in the coolant system. Small air pockets are always in the system, but wont cause a problem. Big air pockets cause the engine to idle rough, like its misfiring. Then when u go to press on the gas it stalls, or it wont rev past a certain point. Ive had this problem myself a few times, replacing water pumps and lower radiator hoses. About the best thing u can do is just let the car run and idle for an hour, maybe even 2! Then rev it when its still parked at a higher RPM, just to flush out those pesky air pockets. I know it wastes gas, but thats what i think the problem is. Air pockets are something that most ppl dont think about when they drain and refil the cooalnt components.
1998 Honda civic water pump plastic or metal inside (OEM)?
Water pumps are metal including the frame, the water pulley, and the fins on the other side. Plastic fins would not be ideal as it would spin constantly and come in contact with hot coolant for the duration your engine is on. Eventually, it would soften, bend and become insufficient in pushing and circulating coolant throughout your engine. Hope this helps!
when i drove my truck after about 15 minutes i was parked and let my truck idle afetr about a minute of idling my truck stalled and when i turned it back of it was squeeking and made some noises for about ten seconds and then stopped. I noticed that the pully on my fan coming from the water pump was wobbling. my tempuratue was still normal what could cause this i am suspecting taht the bearings in my water pump went?
Ram Water Pump
I replaced the water pump on my 350 chevy small block with a new water pump and the thing is leaking out of the lower bolt hole on the passenger side. I was told to remove the bolt and coat it with permatex hi tack gasket sealer and reinstall it Any how I'm wondering why there would be a leak there in the first place, any ideas?
i would try getting a new gasket and make sure you seal it really good and make sure the bolts are tightened really good
Domestic pump automatic shut off the water, but also turn around, stop what happened?
You can find a water pump factory people ask, ah, Baidu, find a corporate website, many have online advice. By the way, a site called water industry navigation, pump manufacturers included a lot, and find it may be faster.
Water is leaking from the front of my car, on the right where the radiator is located. only thing is that its not leaking a lot, just a little.... but people keep telling me that my timing belt is going to go out and that i will be stranded!. i will like to know the cost of both the water pump and timing belts for my 2001 PT Cruiser please.
A suggestion. If your car is around 70,000 to 100,000 miles then you should change the timing belt. If it breaks, it will leave you stranded, and cost you more because the engine may be damaged. (girlfriend ignored the warning and it cost her $1000 in engine parts - I was the free labor!) Because the timing belt runs the water pump, most mechanics recommend changing the water pump at the same time, the water pump does not cost that much more. Parts and labor for this cost about $700 to $1000, sometimes it costs a bit more because the idler pulley is worn and must be replaced also. As for your leak, it would be best to have the cooling system pressure tested to find the spot of the leak. If its sometime other than the water pump, you'll be glad you found it early. Good luck.
I want to build a portable, working steam room display for trade shows. I need to feed water from a storage tank to a steam generator when it's called for. How can I do this? Is there a type of water pump that would work for this?
I would buy a little aquarium filter pump to feed the steam system. You can regulate it with a little valve in the tubing and use any kind of tub as a reservoir for the water depending on the amount you need to create the steam.
