Operations Conditions


1. The medium temperature should not be over 60oC, the density 1200Kg/m3, and the pH value within 5-9.
2. During running, the pump must not be lower than the permitted lowest liquid level.
3. Rated voltage 380 V, rated frequency 50 Hz. The motor can run successfully, only under the condition the deviations of both rated voltage and frequency are not over ± 5%.
4. The maximum diameter of the solid grain going through the pump has not to be larger than 50% of that of the pump outlet.

Q:I recently bought a 1992 Honda Accord. It has high mileage but the records kept on it were impecable up to about the last 3 years. I have read that you need to replace the timing belt/water pump every 80k miles. However; I do not know when it was changed last. The Only record in the book on the subject was back at 90k miles. That was the first time they had the timing belt changed.So How do I know its time to change it again? The car now has 199k miles. I do not want to do unnecessary work before time, however; I also know that the affects it will have on the engine is great if its not done within the right TIME! Is there anyway to know it needs to be done? What kind of signs will the car give? And how much is it going to cost me when it has to be done? Thanks!
can't tell you the price, don't know where you live and where you get yoiur work done, call around.. belts need to be replaced when they're worn. look for cracks, frays and listen for squealing. (sometimes the water pump will squeal when it's bad...) otherwise, take the car in to someone you trust and have them look at it..ESTIMATE only..

Q:All of a sudden I have no water coming to the house/anywhere from the pump/well outside. It's a newer well, good water quantity (Florida...no dry up problems), no sand in water. If you are sure you have power to the unit, go to the pressure tank. There should be a pressure control switch with wires going in and out. It may have a reset switch that you can try to reset. You usually have to hold the switch for several seconds for the water pressure to build up past 20 pounds before you release the switch. You can tell if this is working by hearing water flow thru your pipes and/or watching the pressure gauge on the unit.

Q:I have a 2000 A4 1.8 T with 91 k miles on it. I went to the dealer for my oil service. I told them that I hear a quot;clinkingnoise when I start the car and that it goes away after the car runs for 5 minutes. I told them to check this also. They diagnosed and said that the water pump has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Since it was close to 105 K miles, I might as well change the timing belt. Total charges for both is 1250. And they also see that Cam Seals starting to leak oil. Since I was doing the timing belt, I might as well change them too. Additional cost to do them is 950. So the total for all three comes down to 2200. I bought the car at 90 K and checked it at Firestone and they said it was cool. They noticed an oil leak but said it was not anything major that needs to be taken care of right away. Do you think the dealer is taking me for a ride here? I just drove 500 miles and would things go this bad all of a sudden? Or should I make the replacements? Please advise.
I also own an 2000 Audi A1 1.8T. I am also currently researching the same problem. It turns out that 2000 Audi (up untill 05/2000) the water pump is on the OUTSIDE and not driven by timing belt. So they can and should be changed independantly. So you should check to see if the timing belt was changed already and how many miles on it (change the timing belt about once every 60K miles to be safe). The engine codes (that has water pump on the outside) are: AEB / ATW (150HP engine). The engine code AWM (05/00 and onward) has water pump driven by timing belt and should probably always be changed together. I think these are the more powerful 170 / 180 HP engine. My Audi dealer (Beiner Audi of L.I. NYC) did NOT tell me this. They wanted to squeeze in an unnecessary additional $400 unnecessary repair for the water pump along with the over priced timing belt replacement. The Audis maybe driven by upscale market, but the dealers are still no better than the old used car salesmen. Good luck, Jong P.S. Get yourself a factory Audi service manual (I own a Bently publishing manual and Chilton VW/Audi manual). Do your own research. It's saving me tons of money. P.P.S Also, always use full synthetic motor oil if you want to avoid the engine sludge problem. Turbo engines are prone to engine sludge. Funny how model year 2000 A4 was NOT recommended synthetic oil (till recently). Could it be that back then THEY had to pay for the oil change and now all 2000 A4 are no long under bumper-to-bumper warrantee (and the more expensive synthetic oil are no longer their cost)??

Work is force x distance, which is conveniently pounds x feet. Since we are only interested in the height here (as that is the direction we are pumping), we only need to integrate along that path. The differential weight/force being pumped is the volume (LxWxH = 2 x 3 x dH) times the density (80) and the distance is the height that volume is pumped (6 - H). So W = integral( 6 * 80 * dH * (6-H)) from H=0 to 6 W = integral ((2880 - 480H) dH) = 2880H - 240*H^2 = 2880(6) - 240*(6)^2 = 8640 foot-pounds of work. If you are pumping from the spout, replace the 6-H with 11-H, and the answer becomes 23,040 foot-pounds, which makes sense since you have almost tripled the averge height you were lifting. For the 2/3, change the range of the integration to H = 2 - 6, since H = 0 - 2 represents the water at the bottom of the tank that will still be there later. This gives you answers of 3840 and 13,440 foot-pounds respectively, showing that the last couple of feet are the hardest to pump out (because they have the farthest to go...)
