- Q: What are some good brands of aquarium water pumps? I have had bad experiances with Hydor Seltz (cheapest ones I could find, ugg, I know, you get what you pay for) pumps, failing very quickly, and sounding like plastic gears grinding around inside. What is the best kind to get?I need one that's around 150gph
- PowerHead? or Sump Pump? I have used hagen aquaclear powerheads on my saltwater tanks for years 24/7 without a problem. I just purchased 3 MaxiJet 1200 powerheads and a wave timer to see haw they do, 6 months now 24/7 and so far so good. The longest lasting Sump Pump that I have ever owned is made by Ehime, I've had it for 14 years now and it's still going in one of my tanks. I better cross my fingers on that one.LOL
- Q: What does 'MCL' Unit stands for water pump. How can convert this Meter head of the pump. For example : 50 MCL to ------- MTR HEAD. What is the formula?
- What Does Mlc Stand For
- Q: Ok, so if i have an 80 watt solar panel and want to run a 12v dc fan and water pump ONLY when the sun is out or enough light to power them, will i need something like a voltage regulator? I would like to have the panels charge deep cycle 12 v batteries at the same time or when the fan and pump is not running. For instance, i have the panels out and my fan and pump on allowing them to run only on solar as well as charge the batteries. What diagram would i use? I would probably get a charge control for the batteries but more importantly what would i need to regulate the power from the panels? Inverter?
- You may have to do some math. The 80 watt panel is only 80 watts at peak sun on a 75°F day at the equator. Chances are you will have something less than 80 watts to work with. But you can add up all the hours of partial sun to get an equivalant number of peak sun hours. An example would be a few hours in the morning and evening at partial power and a couple of hours at solar noon at nearly full power may give you 5 peak sun hours worth of light. 5 psh x 80 w/ps = 400 wh Your supply may have 400 watt hours worth of power per day. You state that the fan is 12v dc but what is the wattage? It could be a little 12v dc fan out of a computer or it could be a huge 12v dc fan out of an RV. What is the power requirements of the water pump? Is it a little 12v dc one for a foot tall decorative fountain or an industial 3 phase pump for a well? To charge the battery you need a voltage 120% higher than the battery voltage. 12v x120%=14.4 v To add up your loads convert them all the use to dc watt hours per day Here is an example to give you an idea of how to play with your numbers: Fan 12vdc x 1.5 A = 18 watts, use this for 5 hours your load would be 18w x 5hr = 90 watt hours Pump 120 vac x 2.5 amps = 300 watts (The AC will need to come from an inverter. The inverter has a certain amount of loss. How good it does the job of converting dc to ac is know as it's efficency. Lets use 90% to be safe) 300 watts / 0.90 = 333.4 watts, use this for 1/2 hour per day 333.4w x 0.5hr = 166.7 watt hours The 90 watt hours + the 167 watt hours = 257 watt hours per day. This would leave about 140 watt hours to put into the battery. Yes it would be best to use a charge controller to protect the battery from overcharging if the pump and fan are off, or from draining the battery too much if the fan or pump stays on.
- Q: What's the water pump?
- Whether frozen water pump or cooling water pump, including the boiler with the water pump, as long as it is used for replenishment, are called water pump. Normally, the pump works intermittently.
- Q: I have been given a project to build a windmill driven water pump. So far, a lot of the books I've researched only give me info on how a water pump works. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance
- How Do Windmills Pump Water
- Q: Water pump
- well thats gana depend on the year and engine size but i would say that you can plan on spending between 30 and 70 dollars
- Q: ok im ready to install my new water pump but it has to gasket in the package i no where one goes it shapes to the water pump but i dont no if the other one is used, and also where does the o ring go in the big hole in the center does it have to be pushed down into a seem or something and do the to out side holes need o rings as well, and does the hermonic balancer seal need to b replaced
- The water pump should come off the block with 4 bolts, the gasket goes between the body and rear plate. The o- ring fits onto the transfer tube that travels between the valley of the block. Add a little lube to it to make installing the pump and cover easier. The lower t belt gear should slide off easily, if not a bit of heat may help, careful not to break the oil pump (front end of block). The upper cam gears are best loosened slightly while the belt is still installed. If not try slipping the old belt over the gear and holding the outside of the gear/ the belt. Air tools may be required due to torque required.
- Q: took car to meachanic on a friday drove home . mecahnic put in timing belt engine coolant water pump car on sunday leaking alot of green fluid and smoke coming from hood
- green fluid is antifreeze. with the hood open start the car and look under the car to see where its coming from...then look up top at the hose connections,,,,,personnally i would phone the mechanic ands have him come out to the car so you dont overheat it and blow the motor.he shouldnt charge you for this as there has to be warrenty...i think he just ddidnt tighten a clamp or screwed up the water pump gasket
- Q: A mechanic replaced my timing and other belts on my 2001 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cylinder today but not water pump. He said the water pump looked good. All the other mechanics I talked to told me they had to replace the water pump. This mechanic said the belts were not connected to the water pump in this car and therefore the water pump was ok. The car has about 100500 miles on it. Is this bad or should I call him back and ask him why he didn't change the water pump. I don't want to pay more later.
- no your water pump should be fine if the belt wasnt spinning the water pump then nothing was moving to break or whatever the way you can tell if your water pump is bad is it will leak green antifreez out of the front of the motor and you will see green puddle on the ground but if its not leaking then its good
- Q: I have a well that is 6inch and down 250 ft. It use to be used to water our grove. The submersible pump went bad and I had it pulled and capped. I was wondering since the water level in the pipe is around 6 feet down, can I install an above ground jet pump to feed my house? Could I just go down around 30 feet and pump with the above ground jet pump instead of using the submersible pump? tks for any help..
- You should have a local engineer or qualified contractor take a look. Even if you can get it to work (you'll have to consider the NPSH Net Positive Suction Head rating of the pump, since you're still pulling the water.) it may not be acceptable per code. What's more, since the well was used for irrigation before, it's possible it was installed to comply code only to the extent of irrigation and not for potable use.
