Q: we found a large area rug that we'd like to use in our bedroom, but it takes up more than half the room. is it possible to cut it to fit into the corner under our bed so it looks like it was made for that?: You might change your mind in winter when your feet hit the coldfloor and you need to buy smaller rugs to put you feet on. But yes you can cut the larger rug down. First undo the border that keeps the rug from unraveling and save it for reattacment . then cut the rug down to the size you wantusing the approreate type of cutting tool. then start sewing the border back on. cutting of the excess length. and finshing the neddle work .

Q: The floor of my room is carpet, but is there are need to get a rug? I just want it for decoration. My bed is in the middle of my room, so where should I put the rug? And how often do I need to wash it? (I would normally vacuum my room once a week.): I have a shaggy light purple rug in my room that is in front of my bed and near my closet. To clean it I just beat it outside to get any dirt that's on it. My room has carpet as well (dark brown). I honestly think that you should just test out a rug that you really like and see if you like it or not in your room. If you don't just return it. Maybe make sure first that the rug goes well with the colors in your room. My rug looks good - it's on the smaller side, but my room is pretty small anyways. It matches the rest of my room's colors (light shades). If you get a rug, make sure it has a right color or design with it that wouldn't affect the room as much. Oh, but if it's a shaggy carpet, then I don't suggest buying a rug. Only if the carpet is a flat carpet. (If you know what I mean).

Q: Ok, I have a very dirty carpet with dried on blood stains from one of my pets (He is ok, he had an infection) that's been sitting there for a few weeks. The carpet has not been cleaned for three years, and is very dirty. The stain was pretreated immediately after the incident, but never got out. I am going to clean the carpet now, and here is my plan. I am going to get - 1 Rental Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaner- 1 Bissell Spotbot- 1 box of Borax- 1 box of OxycleanWhat should I use as the carpet cleaning solution? Have any pretreat recommendations? Have any suggestions?: no rent a rug doctor machine I think homedepot or pathmark use the rug doctor chemicals before you do this pretreat the stains

Q: It's beige and im thinking of buying a Vacoom cleaning that cleans the carpet do those really work? like a Bissel?: Yes they do, but only for maintnence jobs. If your carpet is really bad and stained I would get it professionaly cleaned, then buy one of those carpet cleaners to maintain it every 2 months or so.

Q: My carpet is AWFUL.Even the big, top of the line cleaning machines won't get out the dirt, stains, and ground in stuff in my carpet. I cannot recarpet it, I am 15 and my parents won't let me.What takes staind out? And what about dirt? Except for where furniture used tobe the carpet has gone from white to a lightl dirty beige.Any help will be wonderful, I can try anything, thank you.: Some of the new carpet foam cleaners work really great...and smell good too....I don't know how much carpet you have to clean....but they do work....just spray on the carpet...get a bunch of paper towels.....and wipe off....or let set for a few minutes...and repeat.....you have to do it by hand....so it will take a while.... ...some stains though are really hard to get out....others...from everyday dirt...the spray carpet cleaners really do help....

Keep the litter box CLEAN. Clean the litter box at least once a week with a disinfectant. Clean the turds and clumps of urine every other day, more often if need be. Steam clean the rug. A clean litter box = a happy cat.

Q: I'm trying to figure out how to place a standard rectangular rug under a horseshoe shaped sectional with an oval coffee table making up the center. Should the rug go under the whole sectional with room to spare behind it? That would have to be a very large rug.Can the sectional be only partway under the rug?: I like to see area rugs placed at an angle under horseshoe configured sectionals. You can put it just under the front so that there isn't a gap that will get dirty right in front of the curved portion of the couch. You are placing the rug to anchor the couch to the room and protect the flooring underneath, having it under the couch doesn't serve either purpose. This saves you a little money as well in that you don't have to purchase such a large area rug...
