Q:soap or a regular carpet cleaner
depends on the stain. I like carpet cleaner personally. If your whole carpet is dirty, those rug doctors you can rent at the grocery store are actually amazing. I rented one and couldn't believe how well it cleaned. I also rented the upholstery attachment and cleaned my white couch and the interior of my truck. It was totally worth the $25 for 24 hours. I didn't bother buying all the soaps and stuff they sell with it, just some steam cleaner detergent and a little fabric softener in the other tank instead of the suds reducer they push on you. Good luck. Of, if it's an animal stain you can buy enzymatic cleaner that will actually take care of the stain and the smell.....
Q:So, im trying to make a little ramp for summer skiing. I need to know what i should use(ex. carpet (type?))
Go to the place near you that sells carpeting. Get the green plastic stuff that looks like fake grass. Some people use this on decks and on boats. If you are using Snogel, this kind of carpet works very well. It's what I use.
Q:I have a carpet that I am having removed in order to install hardwood floors. The carpet itself is only about a year old and still in very good condition. (If we didn't have pets we would probably keep it.) We have another house we would like to put the carpet in, but would only like to do so in the form of an area rug. Is this kind of transplant possible? Has anyone ever done this? What are some other options? Thanks!
yes you can cut it to size and bind the sides
Q:I have a Nepalese oriental rug. I assume its wool (thought it may have man made fibres in it).I've cleaned various spills with water over the years - with no probs. It really needs a clean.. can I clean it with cold water? Is this dangerous?I'd like to just take it out and wash it down with a hose... Thanks
You can hose it down but the problem is that it will be sopping wet so it will take forever to dry. Also, professional rug cleaning people who use this method have a way of extracting the water out (vacuum table) so that the colors don't run from being wet too long. Since you don't have the material, I would suggest a carpet shampooer (injection/extraction) or if not, have a wet dry vac handy to suck up the maximum amount of water from the rug and be able to hang it over a bar in a very well ventilated area. You will have to turn it once every few hours. The biggest risk is that the colors run after X time being wet.
Q:What covers the carpet?
Toward the PVC, and the kind of things above the pavement. The price is about 120 yuan a flat. May consider
Q:I have blue walls with a gray blue carpet. That would make for ugly curtains. Do they really need to match?
you dont have to match the carpet to the curtains, they should blend with the colors of the whole room, so as long as it matches or blends in good with the other colors of the room it light, light blue, white, off white, or even a creamy color or it can even match other objects in the room painting, flowers etc..........good luck
Q:Do i need to use a carpet stretcher to install carpet. If i don't use one will it still work alright
The stretcher is a key component. Without the stretcher you could end up with wrinkles in the carpet and the edges may pose a problem.
Q:I am new to weaving and inherited a loom. I a looking for opinions on the best websites to buy warp for my loom. I am looking for the best price, etc. I need to buy 360 spools.
360 okorder too. If you're a new weaver, better to start off with the materials for one rug first.
Q:I am trying to find a practical solution to carpeting my basement with pets and kids in the house. I was looking at carpet tile because I can just replace a worn or stained piece. Has anyone here used carpet tile? What brand did you buy and how did it hold up? Can this be easily installed or do I need a pro? Any tips?
Unless your pets are WELL behaved They will make short work of ripping tiles up and chewing the edges to frazzles. Leaving turned up edges and holes your kids can trip on. If they are unruly, even a one piece carpet is up for grabs. Esp in the corners and at the door, if they want in or out. This applies whether it is Glued down Or stretched in. Good Luck with it! RT
Q:We have a red rug which needs cleaning, but I'm no longer interested in using the harsh chemicals most commercial cleaners insist upon.
I okorder . FYI - if you fill out a short form on their website, they'll give you $10 in Earth Friendly Products printable coupons. (I personally use Earth Friendly Products and think they are great). You can find Seventh Generation and Earth Friendly Products at just about any organics store, such as Whole Foods, or you can order through their website. Hope this helps! Good luck!
