Q:what is the carpet under the tea table in living room used for?
Walk on it barefoot is very comfortable, it also can prevent feet from being cold.
Q:i want to re carpet my bedrooms, where could i find carpet besides a carpet shop?
Cassy, if you want new carpet then you will have to go to a carpet store. Some of the larger companies have end of line run out sales for carpets that they are replacing with a new pattern or colour so it's always worth asking, you might get last years carpet at a bargain. You could also look at some auction houses for carpet bargains. If you are okay with second hand carpet then have a look at some of the trader newspapers, we have trading post here in Melbourne and they are online too, Australia wide I think on the net. Some people will sell their old carpet when replacing it so check around. Also, you could contact some carpet installers because they are always ripping out old carpet when laying down new stuff. Ask them what they do with the carpet they are getting rid of. They might onsell it somewhere if it's in good shape. You can always jump on line and google 'second hand carpet'. I got a few hits when I did this so you might find something in your area.
Q:what is the commercial that the woman is looking at her carpet saying oh no my mother in law is coming in a hour how am i supposed to get this carpet clean. It's like a shake on thing moist powder or foam then you vacuum up after like 30 mins.
commercial carpet cleaners do a rotten job, except for Resolve. most that a powder can do is loosen some dirt and hair and deodarize. the foaming ones do not work. Buy a tub of Oxy-Clean, make a thick paste out of warm water in a Dixie cup. spread on carpet, work in with brush, wait a minute, then pick up the most that you can with a wet towel, rinseing at least once.
Q:I bought a new rug for my living room. My cats love it and they want to lay on it and scratch it up. How can I let them know its off limits!?!?!?
Good luck with that one. You could try buying a cat repellant spray but not all cats are offended by it. (Didn't work with mine) I just gave up after awhile. A spray bottle might do the trick. I taught my cats to stay off the table this way. I filled up a spray bottle (buy one from the dollar store, DO NOT use a spray bottle that has had chemicals in it) and every time your cats go on the rug spray them with the spray bottle. Works great.
Q:The problem is I am not sure how I will paint the bottom part because of the carpet. What is the easiest way to paint it without having to remove the carpet? Are there paint shields specifically designed for stairs? Thanks
I don't see any mention in your Q about a TARP, but certainly the carpet needs to be masked, and covered with drops. You can use shielding, but it's a tedious, often one step at a time process. In your case a lot of prep will give you the better job. I might use thin plexi. or even a wide blade MUD knife, to press back the carpet, then with something substantial like gaffing tape, or even Duct tape pressed into the carpet to keep the fibers off the area to be painted. In any case cutting will be the major issue, and caution the keyword. The prep alone will take longer than the painting, but worth the effort, and seemingly your better option. NO I might not pull the carpet, but then again, I don't have an idea of how the carpet has been installed? Tack Strips? Nailed/stapled to the wall butting? Glued? Steven Wolf Just my two sense
Q:I live in an apartment and recently decided to get rid of an decades-old carpet. But the floor is plain white tile. Can you give me a suggestion as to a nice decor to cover the floor that's on a cheap end (I'm a student)? I don't like rubber backing because they tend to break off, but something nice. Under $50 preferably, up to $100. Send links to images. Thanks!
I okorder / I hope I hear from you soon!
Q:Do i need to use a carpet stretcher to install carpet. If i don't use one will it still work alright
The stretcher is a key component. Without the stretcher you could end up with wrinkles in the carpet and the edges may pose a problem.
Q:What about the Muenster carpet?
The difference between the two carpets in the mode of production is:Wilton is a cashmere yarn woven into the organization and then cut pile carpet made of cut or uncut ring made of carpet; While Muenster is referring to the method of knitting an oriental carpet, with mechanical methods cashmere yarn first cut into the specified length, the consolidation method of U "or" J "shape of the cut to the carpet warp between the buried layer, then the weft to be fixed, so the drag on the back will not sink yarn the carpet.
Q:My carpet is threadbare and needs replacing. The kids are almost grown and pets live outside. Should I get a timber floor or go with carpet again. Which is easier to keep clean? I know that carpet is dirty but it also hides a lot. If you have a timber floor and then get rugs, aren't you getting the vaccuum out anyway? What do you think?
I prefer bare floors, but it's 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other.
Q:it rained and water got in my carpet . it is humid/wet it smells bad how do i wash the carpet?
Carpet odor sanitizer then dry with fan to dry as quick as possible
