Is this rug like a throw rug or is it like carpet? Either way you can sew them. If it is carpet, attached to the floor, then cut a small piece from behind a door or inside of a closet. Use that to replace the damaged part by sewing it in. You can make a carpet needle by holding a large needle over the flame on your stove using a pair of pliers. With a second pair of pliers bend the needle into a half circle. Let it cool before touching it of course. Then just sew the piece into the damaged area. I've had to do that many a time with my puppies.

A horse will only need a rug during cold weather if they have been shaved or do not grow an appropriate winter coat. A majority of horses who are not shaved will not require a rug, when outside or inside. Breed of horse should also be taken into consideration, breeds originating from cold climates are even less likely to require a rug than breeds that originate from warmer enviornments. Another reason a horse may need a rug is because they are very young or very old. Winter foals often times will be rugged because they just came from their mother's very warm womb and do not have coats suitable for the winter weather. Very old horses often can have difficulty keeping weight or growing good enough coats for winter as well. Very ill horses may also need to be blanketed, as will extremely skinny horses. After exercise during cold weather if the horse has worked enough to sweat it is advisable to throw a fleece rug over them for a bit to wick off the sweat and dry the skin and coat. This will allow the horse to remain warm, if you were to put them back outside still sweaty it would cause their core body temperature to drop, which is dangerous during winter months.

Couple of questions:Do you know of a good store/website that has matching rugs and runners for reasonable prices?Also, we plan to put the runners on stairs ourselves, which are all wood also (they are straight and all the stairs are uniform in size so it shouldn't be a problem ... it's a three-story-house) but we were wondering if we can just buy a runners to do this or do we have to buy special runners specifically made for staircases? I think you should keep your dark wood furniture. It'd be a waste just to buy new things when you already have them. If it just does't look right paint the walls a colour that would make your furniture and floors go good together. Try adding some accessories that match your furniture and floors and keeps the focus of anything that doesn't match. Hope you find your answer!

Q:I have an area rug 10' x 7' about 4 years old...I have purchased new furniture and moved things around so the rug is now too big for the area i want it...but I like it still....does anyone know a place to cut a rug?!!!!! Check with specialty carpet outlets. Cutting would be easy, they would have ideas on who could put a binding on that end.

I had some pros come and do My floor in the basement and my steps and it was only about 300 sq ft and it cost me almost $700 ...... You need to shop around and look for the best that you can afford and do only the rooms that need it!!

Q:I am putting in 2 subs in my car with a plate so the subs look like the back of the trunk. Problem is that my carpet has quickly deteorated due to my previous box and I want to replace it. I am going to cut out a plywood sheet to fix the bottom of the car then install the carpet on that. The plywood is going to have a hinge to swing it up so I can get to the spare tired + add extra support. I need to do this by saturday before the subs are installed. What thickness plywood should I use (Thinner is better for me and I am going to drill holes in it for weight reduction) and how do I install the auto carpet so it's smooth and looks nice.Thanks!!!

Get a gallon jug of Acetone from Home Depot in the paint department. Pull all the old carpet up, pull up the tarboard sound deadening material, then pour out the Acetone and scrub the floor using steel wool to clean up any glue or tar that might be on the floor. Once you've got the floor pans clean, paint them with flat black paint to protect them from rusting. Finally, you can find replacement carpet at a parts store, just glue it down with contact cement.
