- Make sure to shake it out really well. After you're done with that use a vacuum on its lowest level (If you have a looped rug- the bristles can damage it) So make sure the brissels aren't spinning! - I would think you would measure across the top of coffee table, end to end. Then do the same at carpet store. You can judge how many inches you would want the carpet to over lap the table.
