- Q: I drive a 1995 Acura integra ls model I'm mechanically inclined just not enough to do a headgasket (more patience wise) my car loses coolant once in every 3 weeks it starts to over heat. I don't have white smoke coming out of the exhaust or milky oil. Everything else runs smooth on my car. I've head it pressure tested and every thing else checks out so I'm kind of lost. All hoses are fine and not leaking and there is no coolant leaks showing up on the ground. Any ideas?
- You are probably right about the water pump leaking, Of course you wont see it until you remove that cover and put a pressure tester on it... Sometimes they leak better with no pressure on them, Kind of like the piddle valve on the radiator cap.
- Q: A pump parameter is the maximum flow per hour 960L, followed by the standard flow of 480 what do you mean?
- The parameter standard of the pump factory is determined by its efficiency, that is, the efficiency of the pump is highest at that point. All parameters have two curves, that is, a flow curve and an efficiency curve. You can according to your standard flow, see how much the efficiency of the point, the maximum flow efficiency is how much will know.
- Q: Water is pumped out of a holding tank at a rate of 6-6e^(-.09t) liters/minute, where t is in minutes since the pump is started. If the holding tank contains 1000 liters of water when the pump is started, how much water does it hold one hour later??Round your answer to one decimal place.
- Let V(t) be the volume of water (in Liters) in the tank after t minutes. We are given that V(0) = 1000, and we wish to find V(60). We are also given the rate of change of the volume: V'(t) = -[6 - 6e^(-0.09t)]. Note that a negative sign needs to be placed because the rate represents water leaving the tank, i.e., being pumped out of the tank. By the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, Integral (0 to 60) V'(t) dt = V(60) - V(0), so that V(60) = V(0) + Integral (0 to 60) V'(t) dt V(60) = V(0) + Integral (0 to 60) -[6 - 6e^(-0.09t)] dt V(60) = V(0) + Integral (0 to 60) [-6 + 6e^(-0.09t)] dt V(60) = V(0) + [-6t + (6/-0.09)e^(-0.09t)] (Evaluated at t = 60 - Evaluated at t = 0] V(60) = V(0) + [-6(60) + (6/-0.09)e^(-0.09(60))] - [-6(0) + (6/-0.09)e^(-0.09(0))] V(60) = 1000 + [-360 - (200/3)e^(-5.4)] - [0 - (200/3)] V(60) = 1000 - 360 + 200/3[1 - e^(-5.4)] V(60) = 640 + 200/3[1 - e^(-5.4)] V(60) = approx. 706.4 Therefore, approximately 706.4 L of water occupy the holding tank 1 hour after the pump is started.
- Q: My 2000 Chevy Cavalier (2.4L) has been overheating pretty majorly (within a 10 minute drive!) when it's been super cold out, about 5F. I took it to the shop and they told me it was my water pump. Right after getting out of the shop, the problem went away for an entire week and the car's temperature has been at exactly what it's been for years - never past 195. It seems to be back now, though not as severe. It's about 20F now.Could the weather have to do with this??Why would the problem go away like that?I'm female and definitely do not seem educated walking into a shop so they can really tell me anything and I'll buy it. I just wanna see if the problem going away like that makes any sense, or if I should just wait out long trips until it warms up outside. It doesn't look like I'm losing coolant, though my low coolant light goes in and out.I have no idea. Thoughts?Thank you!!
- There is the possibility that the water pump cause a wake spot in the system to develop a small leak. The level at the reservoir might not drop but the coolant level in the radiator will drop. Just go back to them and tell them exactly what you said here, and ask to check your coolant level. Outside temperature won't effect it because the car runs at almost 200F
- Q: The at is a 2003 Toyota celica. And how much would it cost to get the water pump and timing belt replaced?
- the cost of the pump, which will variety finding on your motor vehicle make. Any small block chevy is approximately 30 greenbacks, some distant places automobiles i've got considered over a hundred greenbacks. A gallon of antifreeze and a gallon of distilled water (approximately 12 greenbacks) and a sparkling belt in case you like it. The hard paintings is many times the main costly section. while you're accessible the motor vehicle areas shop which you purchase the areas at might have a handbook on your motor vehicle with step by step training for decrease than 20 greenbacks. many circumstances you will come across step by step training on your make and sort on the internet for unfastened. it extremely is a quite user-friendly challenge lots of the time. yet in specific circumstances on smaller transverse fixed engines you're able to pull lots off to get to it. examine it out and see in case you experience tender attempting it. lots of the terror approximately fixing automobiles isn't understanding what to anticipate. With the internet at present you may examine issues quite thoroughly till now you start up. additionally you may examine the words used in the training in the adventure that your motor vehicle restore lexicon is slightly lacking. If money is tight it fairly is an extremely practicable challenge for many individuals.
- Q: Today I see the saying that if your pipe diameter has been selected, then the pipe diameter on the pipe diameter should be smaller. I don't know why
- The size is only a matter of convenience or experience, and a small number of tubes are already available. As long as you can pick it up, you can use it.The so-called thick pipe to reduce resistance is a certain relationship. But it shouldn't be your decision to choose the big one. Then why don't you choose the big three? Four or the thicker ones?! @! The resistance will be smaller!!!!- - - - - - - - - - - - - - layman; look at the knowledge of fluid mechanics!!!The question is a conclusion, explain why not one or two words, learn the knowledge of fluid mechanics to know why -- try to answer it, that is to improve the water pump outlet total pressure head, intuitive feeling is to have enough pressure to pump out the water pressure. As for the big three or four, it is necessary to ensure that the flow velocity in the pipe is more uniform, otherwise the flow near the pipe wall will flow or flow too slowly due to viscous action.
- Q: me and my friends are contemplating going on a road trip.almost 20 hours of driving.but we dont have a water pump, can you drive without one?
- Not unless you intend to spent about 4 days walking the 19 1/2 hours that will be left of your trip after the engine seizes up.
- Q: I took my 04 Grand Prix to the mechanic for a coolant change. My car had never drip coolant until after the coolant change . I took my car today to the same mechanic and he told me that the problem was the water pump and wants to charge me 70 dollars. Could changing the coolant affect the water pump. Or did the mechanic damaged the water pump on purpose.
- The mechanic should have used GM Dexcool coolant, but even if he didn't, the chances are your coolant was long overdue for replacement and your water pump suffered from your failure to change the coolant as per your owner's manual maintenance schedule.
- Q: can this happen that pump is pressurizing system and no flow in suction.
- Hey Gamel..Lets see if i got this question right..You have a circulation pump in a hot water line. this line is a closed loop when no faucets are on. When you let the system circulate for a while say during the day there seems to be a build up of pressure in the storage tank. You were wondering if a plugged loop in the hot water line would cause a dramatic water pressure increase.. the answer is YES..but NOT from the PUMP..the type of pump most people have requires that flow through the impeller be available at all times or two things will happen !. it will cavitate (that's a gurgling sound at the pump) or 2. It will only beat the water that is in the pump and no flow will be apparent. Either one of these though could be a symptom of a plugged hot water line in the loop. Here is what happens to increase the pressure apparent.. The water on the loop is pressurized from the storage tank to the pump then out to the loop .If the loop is terminated and air gets into the end of the line next to the restriction the outside water pressure is acting like a piston compressing the air that air reacts the same as it would in any compressor and can reach higher than normal operating conditions. If you will find the plug and install an expansion bladder in the highest part of your line your flow ,pressure and noise problems will stop...Good luck with the search...From the E
- Q: how do i remove and replace the water pump on a 2003 ford focus with a 2.0 engine
- You most likely wont be able to do this at home in your own garage. The water pump on this vehicle is driven by the timing belt. In order to access the timing belt, you need to first remove the accessory drive belt, some pulleys, and i thing a couple components like the power steering pump, and the AC compressor as well. Once you have all that stuff out of the way, then you can remove the timing belt cover and begin removing the timing belt, with the timing belt removed, you can now access and unbolt the waterpump gear and then the waterpump itself. It goes back together in reverse order, except you will need a speical tool to hold the two cam gears from moving relevant to one another when you realign them with the crankshaft to put a NEW timing belt on, you shoudl use a new belt since you are forced to replace it while removing the waterpump. Your going to have to take it into a shop, it will be kinda expensive, a timing belt replacement in that vehicle is estimated at 2.2 man hours, the water pump will be only a bit more labor ontop.
