Q:How do I keep the the coffe table from digging into the area rug (persian rug) and moving around ?
Put a set of coasters under the legs of the table.
Q:Ha-ha, all jokes aside, this is a serious rug question. What do you call the type of rug that instead of being made out of yarn, is made out of jagged-cut t-shirt material hooked through rug backing? I want one but don't know how to search for it.

Q:Besides vacuuming, how do you maintain white carpeting? Personally I have found that using a storebought steamer makes my carpets look dingier. A person I knew at one time told me about a dry cleaning method using some kind of powder. She told me she rented the equipment and it only cost about thirty dollars. I've researched this and don't have any idea where to go. Links to more info. would be helpful.
I spot clean with 409 heavy duty traffic foam carpet cleaner but once a season i clean the rugs professionally as it makes the color last longer, in fact i am getting ready to do the fall cleaning the first part of october../.
Q:I have a large sisal rug that has been spilled on cat-vomited on, and who knows what else. Trying to spot-clean the stains hasn't been productive. What should I do?
Hey,i happen to have a sisal rug myself!! Firstly, it depends on the kind of sisal rug you have. There are two types: synthetic fiber, which may contain nylon or wool-blend materials; and natural fiber, made of plant products such as sea grass, paper, or coconut fibers. To safely clean synthetic-fiber sisals, follow the manufacturer's directions, which may recommend hot-water extraction or a dry-cleaning method. Manufacturers of natural-fiber sisals suggest only a dry-cleaning method. Do not steam-clean or wet-shampoo; liquids or excessive dampness may cause these rugs to shrink or pucker. For spot-cleaning a stain, lightly mist the area with the manufacturer's recommended cleaning solution (do not pour or heavily apply any cleanser directly onto the rug). Then blot the damp area with a white towel and continue blotting until the stain is removed. A fabric protectant may be applied to both types of sisal rugs during the manufacturing process or by the consumer. But regular wear and tear and cleaning can decrease its effectiveness; it may need to be reapplied.=] thx,
Q:Is there any easy and/or quick ways to get paint out of carpeting? We painted a bedroom this last weekend, but some paint leaked through the sheets and is on the floor now. Any ideas?
If it's latex, once it's dry, that's it as far as I know. My friend once spilled bleach on her carpets--she called a carpet place and they came out, matched her carpeting to some remnants they had, cut the bad parts out and put the remnants in, seamed it up and you couldnt even tell!
Q:how do you make a rug?
Depends on what kind of rug you want. You can go to a carpet store to buy a remnant, then purchase an easy finishing edge cording so it doesn't get ratty edges. Or you can do some quilting and attach it to a straw or rubber type mat. Try googling DIY Rugs and look at all the different types you can make and what the materials would cost. There are so many choices!
Q:Does anyone know the daily care of horse rugs? Like what to check for. Thanks..x
Daily care of rugs. My horse is in at night (weathers cold) and wears two rugs. In the morning I tie him up out side his box for breakfast the when I remove his rugs I shake them out, turn them inside out and hang in the yard to air through and if necessary dry off the pooey bits. Later that can be brushed off.. Check that the straps are in good working order also the buckles at the front. If he goes out during the day he wears his heavy waterproof rug with a neck piece and due to wetness after all the snow it gets plastered with mud from rolling. The mud dries out during the course of the day and when he comes in, it can be brushed off while he is still wearing it.. If it's wet still, hang it up to dry in a shed if possible but not near your tack as the dampness isn't good for leather. Check it all round for rips, tears and loose buckles/straps etc. When a horse starts to shed his winter coat, your work will really start! All those hairs to brush off the inside of the rug. I use a rubber curry comb or a pair of damp rubber gloves and then a good shake and hang to air out. Different rugs for different times of year - some of the lightweight ones can be put in the home washing machine once a week. When the summer arrives, get all the heavy weight ones professionally cleaned and re-proofed. Well worth the money.
Q:I'm looking for a soft shag rug that is orange and maybe 5' by 8'. any suggestions?
Orange shag was really in back in the 60s. Check some yard sales? or retro or vintage stores. If nothing turns up, hooking a rug does go pretty fast once you get started and you can make tiles and just keep adding to them as go go.
Q:My mother recently passed away. I had prepaid her rent for a full year. The bedroom had several stains on it and I recognize the carpet needed to be replaced, and I'm OK with paying for it. The bedroom is around 200 square feet in Connecticut. The landlord took the opportunity to replace the carpet with hardwood. He told me the carpet would have cost $600 installed but he paid extra for the hardwood out of his own pocket. The carpet that was there previously was the cheapest contractor grade material you can imagine. I have a hard time believing it cost $600 at $3 a square foot for cheap carpet installed. Should I be pressing this? I figured it would be $300 - $400, max, for similar off-white basic carpet.
The law allows for normal wear of carpets. If the carpets were ruined then you are responsible for replacing them. You can ask the landlord for a copy of the estimate to replace the carpets but I am guessing $600 is reasonable for material and labor for 200 square feet.
Q:I am wondering as a general question how many rugs would you need im talking about bare minimal if you do not intend to show your horse but clip it so that it does not sweat alot while exercising. please list the rugs you feel are essential to have in the climate of south east england thanks so much for your time xx
For turn out you could probably get away with one lightweight summer rug, one middleweight rug and I would say at least two heavyweight turnouts, preferably with necks. If your lightweight gets soaked you can temporarily use the middleweight but in the height of the winter you would need at least two heavyweights coz they take ages to dry and its not nice to put a wet rug back onto a dry horse. I don't really bother with stable rugs during the summer but in the winter I have one light weight one and one heavyyweight one and I find that an under rug is also useful if you need that little bit extra under either.
