- Depends on how big of an area you are talking about and the carpet. I have done it with a high pile carpet by cutting a small slit and injecting glue beneath the carpet and then put weight on it for a while. If it is a low pile carpet you might have a hard time hiding your incision. Maybe if you can get a syringe type injector (meat injector) you can make a small enough hole that's not visible.

- Carpets don't last forever. The carpet should have been cleaned from the very begining when before you noticed it was dirty. Depending on the stains some can't get out at all so you're stuck with it. What you can do is put an area rug over your carpet. Ask your parents if that is ok. Go to WalMart and see if there is something you like and can afford. It is important to take care of things that you use. Later in life you'll see how much more expensive it is when YOU have to pay for them.

- It's called a 'transition', a piece of metal or wood that is beveled toward the two levels. Should have installed a sub-layer under the laminate before installation to bring it closer to flush as a 1 rise is a bit high. A 3- 4 wide transition is recommended in your case. Should have asked earlier.

- Q: I have a espresso colored round table (i think its about 4' or 5' diameter) and it also incleds a leaf to extend the table into an oval shape. I am trying to decide what kind of rug i should get for underneath the table (there is ceramic tile in this area). Its going into the formal living and dining room in the house which is the first you room you enter when you come into the house. The entire room is about 13' wide by 22' long. There will also be a buffet by the table taking off about 2' or so from the width. This is what i was thinking1. getting a big square rug (about 8x8)2. getting a rectangle rug (either 5'x8' or 8'x11')Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks for your input!
