Q: So I‘m taking a couple of private lessons before i take the MSF, I‘m having trouble stopping the bike smoothly from 2nd gear. The instructor told me to brake first and then clutch + downshift, Is it possible to just brake and clutch, then downshift after I‘m stopped?
Some bikes won't shift into first easily regardless of braking and clutch use. Try hitting neutral on first tap, then first just before you put your feet down. You may need to declutch after neutral just to make sure. As one of the other answers mentioned, at low speed you should pull the clutch with the brake anyways to avoid stalling and reduce momentum.
Q: Pedal motorcycle downhill brake failure how to do
Uphill when the brake failure, should be timely to reduce the low block, to maintain sufficient power to park the top of the parking. For halftime parking, should keep the forward low gear, tight hand brake, the vehicle staff in time with stones, pad wood and other objects stuck in the wheel. If there is a slippery phenomenon, the rear should be towards the hillside or safe side, and open the headlights and emergency lights, causing the attention of vehicles before and after.
Q: I just customized my motorcycle helmet to have EL wire on it, it is red colored and is just a constant red color. I‘ve been hearing that this could be illegal and want to check. Does anyone know if A. motorcyclists are considered a part of their vehicle or not? Or B. it is legal or illegal to put constant red light on a motorcycle helmet for riding after dark? thanks
I agree with rick29148. As long as the light in on the rear of the helmet, and is on all the time, and you have not mess with the integrity of the helmet, I can see no reason it would not be legal.
Q: Hi guys, I‘ve got a 99 CB400, been doing recent work on it and when it came to bleeding the front brakes, they simply wont bleedI‘ve checked the master cylinder located below the reservoir and had a worn seal changed in it. After that, checked if it was working and bled just the master cylinder with the hoses to the calipers disconnected, than tried to bleed the calipers but no luck, just a few bubbles from time to time. Sometimes the bubble would actually go back into the hose instead of going completely out.Can anyone help please from personal experience or please redirect me to a post that sheds some light on this situation? I have also checked the hoses, there are no tears. Could changing the washers and putting new ones help?
Very possible it is just a plugged bleeder valve. If the brakes still work, try to clean it out with a small wire. If the brakes are not working, the caliper may need to be rebuilt.
Q: so lets say im on second gear then i have to suddenly stop. how do i get on second gear back again after i had stopped.?? i know i have to put it on first gear again in order to take off my question is how do i do that. Can i put the bike on first gear while holding on to the clutch and break at the same time.??
properly the front brake is a minimum of 70 p.c. of your combating ability. humorous element is I experience an olschool chopper without front brake and have not have been given any difficulty combating. whether in case you merely use the rear brake do no longer lock it up using fact the rear of the motorbike will slide out to the superb! Im engaged on a twin disk rear brake and which will sparkling up this difficulty and make me a set of money.
Q: Was riding the motorcycle and the wheel just locked up. I came to a skidding stop. It won‘t roll, won‘t go in to neutral or shift easily. Am I looking at a transmission or final drive problem?
I have had failure with the crown and pinion in the final drive and I have also had universal joints go on the drive shaft. Transmissions seldom fail but it is possible, I would start by removing the back wheel
Q: Okay say i am in third or second or even first gear there is a stop sign coming up how do i brake correctly?do i hit clutch hit the rear brake and slow it down and once stopped hit the gears all the way down to first? or do i brake n while i brake hit the gears down?
by way of fact the transmission isn't robotically linked to the shifter (that's laptop controlled) the shifter won't enable the transmission to shift into independent. the placement is like that a formulation one driving force looses his paddle shifter, you're caught in what ever kit you're presently in. whilst an plane has a fly by potential of cord gadget there is redundancy (back up structures) on automobiles at present time there is no longer. the expenditures to supply them might offset the fee fee savings and weight savings won by potential of using them. all all and sundry is going to ought to reconsider our emergency approaches as a number of them won't paintings with those structures.
Q: I‘m 16 years old and am going to get my car and motorcycle license in about half a year. Although I don‘t have experience on the road by myself. I feel confident in my abilities and am eager to start on a 2008 Honda CBR600rr. I‘m not looking for people to tell me Oh you shouldn‘t start on a 600cc bike. Rather I‘m looking for tips and advice to improve my knowledge of what and what not to do. I have never driven a motorcycle yet but will definitely take the safety courses and be responsible in learning to ride the CBR600rr. Any advice from starting up the bike, to riding it on a main highway wIll be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Great choice! As for a motorcycle, ride like a normal person. Don't try to impress others by doing wheelies or burnouts. People don't really care if your bike can do a burnout or wheelie. You need to be very experianced when doing a wheelie. Sure it looks easy, but if you land down at the slightest angle, your done. Don't tailgate, wear your gear, don't mess around with cars(brake check etc.), don't speed, and don't race. Take a MSF course so you know how to handle situations if they appear. When riding on the main highway stay to the right of the lane you are in. That way anybody who is merging will be more likely to see you. Don't ride in the center, as there could be oil slicks or debris. Also, always be aware of your surroundings, if you find yourself boxed in by cars, get out of there ASAP. The less cars around you, the more space you have to move around if anything does happen(for example, somebody moves into your lane). Also, get a visible helmet along with gear. Get a visible color on your bike too(get any color but black). The helmet is the first thing a person focuses on because it is the highest point of the bike.
