- Q: I'm only asking this on here out of interest, this is not homework. I want to know how to calculate exact distances between to poles connected at the top by a cable. The length or height of the objects are not important to me, but if you must use an example please do so. So I want to know what formulas to use, what variables in those formulas mean, and how the slope of the cable will affect the distance. For example, if two poles have a distance between them of 0, and the cable extends 100, it would not mean that the drop of the cable (called a catenary?) would be 50, (it's misleading because you would think that since the distance between the two poles is 0, the cable would drop 50 and rise 50. But this is not taking into account the slope it has to take at the bottom of the catenary. It must lose some drop (perhaps to 48 or 49) in order to bend and rise back up...I want this out of my head, it's bugging me that I can't figure it out.
- So you want the length along the cable? I honestly don't know how to compute the arc length of a catenary, but I'm sure that the power company knows how to do it because they need to know how much cable it will take to string up a whole line of poles. Your example doesn't work only because you impose a physically impossible constraint (zero distance between the poles - the poles have no thickness) and then try to impose physical reality (the cable can't bend instantaneously) on the problem. In the physically unrealizable problem, yes the cable does drop 50 ft because it is infinitely bendable. You're dealing with hyperbolic sines and cosines. Good luck
- Q: I recently replaced my 300W Bestec power supply with a 600W corsair power supply. the 600W electric cable (the one that goes to the wall outlet) is too short, can i use the power cable of the 300W power supply ?
- Yes...all psu cables are interchangeable...all are 3 pronged..have been sence the 80's.....some psu makers don't even include them with new psu's figuring you'll have a extra laying around EVEn you monitors cable well work..
- Q: I was walking through the bush recently and I noticed that there were cable towers separated by a valley. How would they get the cable between the towers when there is a cliff on either side?
- There once was a contest to see who could fly a kite across the Niagara river. The winner would receive a cash prize. The kite string was tied to a stronger string and pulled across. Each time a stronger string, then a rope, and then electric cable. Helicopters can be used instead of a kite, but they still use rope to pull the cable across because the metal in the cable is too heavy.
- Q: HiI'm organizing my cords at the moment, but I'm curious, is it safe to use power cords (say a phone charger) when it is still wound up in a coil? It would save a lot of cord clutter, but are there any drawbacks, as in it would start a fire? Thanks
- There is no problem coiling the short cords that come with most devices. There isn't enough current to create a lot of heat. But don't leave long extension cords coiled up when you use them. The induction of the coil can limit the power to whatever is plugged into the cord. This can cause the device to overheat and burn out but it usually won't damage the cord.
- Q: I was watching a YouTube video awhile ago and this guy was reinstalling his cables to his amp. I heard him say that he ran the RCA one on the opposite side of the car so there won't be anymore humming? I currently have my power, RCA ,and rem wires running from front to back on the driver side. Should I re run the RCA one on the passenger side? Will my system sound better?
- i substitute into continually informed to not run capability next to RCA cables. when I ran my cables I ran capability on one side and speaker and RCA down the different side in my motor vehicle. It even says to do it this type in my amp handbook;Plan the twine routing. save RCA cables close jointly yet remoted from the amplifier's capability cables and any intense capability vehicle upload-ons, distinctly electric autos.it is performed to ward off coupling the noise from radiated electric fields into the audio sign.
- Q: will leaving the power cable in for my laptop hurt the battery?
- No, I've always done that with no issues.
- Q: I left my power cable at my cabin, which is a few hours away. I don't want to replace the cable (I'll be going back anyway in a few days), but I need to use my laptop. So far I've tried an old laptop cable, but its to big, and a game system adapter, but it doesn't have enough power. Are there any solutions that don't involve me buying a new cable?
- Do NOT play guessing games with this. If you use one of a higher rating or worse with reverse polarity input you will totally destroy the laptop.
- Q: So this is on my brothers christmas list and I can't find one anywhere. I'm assuming that computers don't have the juice to power a 1TB external without a power source, especially since he needs this for a laptop. He just wants it USB powered, btw.If anyone can find one for me that would be great, because I can't seem to...Thanks!
- Do you nevertheless have the force? if so, what style of pc do you have? Who advised you it replaced into ineffective? some situations you will get better information. What you're able to do. acquire on aim information restoration. deploy on your force. you're able to the two make the undesirable force a slave with the jumper. Open up on aim and choose information restoration. it is going to checklist the misplaced records on the main suitable. Then %. the records. do not %. this methodology records or widows. After it reveals the records, it is going to build a tree. Then it is going to extract the records to a folder which you create on C. you additionally can use a USB force, for you to use for Sata, Pata, IDE. and pc not undemanding drives in case you do not sense like establishing your case. do not purely supply up. in case you have the force attempt that first.
- Q: Cable YJV-1KV-5 * 10 pipe laying, including cable head system with what fixed amount?
- KVV is the control cable, generally do industrial control; and RVS is twisted pair, generally used for weak system, to eliminate the interference requirements of the occasion, such as two-wire bus system, specifically, the electrical fire bus more Such as RS485 bus and so on.
- Q: I have a usb hub that is externally powered that stays on 24/7 even when i shut my computer off. It is buried behind by desk so removing the usb power supply manually each time is what im trying to avoid. Is there anyway i can put a switch in the power cable going to it?
- Before you attempt this, make sure you have the following items: -Wire strippers -Electrical tape -Two terminal switch -Scissors IMPORTANT! make sure that the cable is unplugged from the computer and the hub before you do this! 1st, cut the cord halfway with the scissors. Next, remove the outer wire insulation from the two new ends you just cut with the wire strippers. Now strip the small colored wires that are now exposed. Then connect the red wire from one half of the cord to a terminal on the switch. Do the same with the other red wire from the other half of the cord and connect it to the other terminal on the switch. Strip the other small wires and connect them back to their appropriate colored wire. Finally, wrap each wire individually with electrical tape, then wrap the entire gap in the cord with it. Now plug the cord in and try it out!
