Q: i have a 600w rms and a 300w rms amp the 600w amp has an 80a fuse and the 300w has two 25a fuses right now i have two seperate power cable for each amp going to the battery the inline fuse for the 600w amp is 100a and the inline fuse for the 300w amp is 50a (i need to swich to a 60a i know) they both have 8awg power cables 100a amps is about all a n 8 awg can handle so what i want to do is run a single zero guage cable to the firewall than on the inside of the vehicle have a distribution block what i need to know is -what guage wire should i use for the power wire at the battery-what size fuses to use and how many-the locations i should put the fusesthanks i pick best answers fast
white is often you impartial conductor. eco-friendly is often the equipment grounding conductor. black is a warm conductor. i think of the bare wrap is an equipment grounding conductor for the twine. that is there incase somebody have been to place a screw or puncture the cable in some incorrect way. a screw penetrating the twine might hit the bare first, then it would hit the nice and snug twine. the bare safeguard might carry the present each and all of the some time past to the panel and holiday the breaker rather of the present dealing with your physique.
Q: I got two mobile GPS units for my car which use a mini USB interface for powering. One of the units didn't come with a cigarette adapter so I am trying to figure out how to power it. Can I just use a normal USB cable? I would tap the red wire into the fuse box in my car, and ground the black wire to the frame. So:-Can a mini USB cable handle 12V for ~5ft-Is that the right way to connect them? Thanks!
I believe usb cables supply 5 volts. You might want to check that before you fry something.
Q: all i found was four power cables and 1 was for the floppy and the other 3 were the 4 color cable how can i power this 3rd hd with unplugging my cd drive?
goto the computer store and get a power plug T adapter or make one yourself u know cut, splice and tape or saulder just make sure it is in parallel yellow to yellow red to red etc...
Q: Can i make the CAT 5 speaker cable, explained on many websites, as a 4 gauge power wire from my battery to my amp?
No, the cat 5 wire will heat up too fast.
Q: Acoustic Audio 10 inch home theatre powered subwoofer use speaker wire or subwoofer cable?
Use a long RCA cable. If you use speaker wire - you have to run wires from the left/right outputs to the sub, then more wire from the sub to the left/right speakers. Then you have to tell your receiver your left/right speakers are LARGE and you do not have a sub to get things to work. A single long RCA cable is simpler. You can even make your own with pre-terminated CATV coax and some F-to-RCA-Male adapters from Radio Shack. Subwoofer signals work fine and do not need any kind of higher end RCA cable.
Q: I'm extending one of my PSU power cables because is to short. the line got 2 black/1 yellow and 1 red (molex) I know the colors have to be matched but if at the other end I end up mixing the 2 black lines, will there be a problem?ps: I already sleeved the cable for that matter I can't see the 2 black cables inside and i forgot to mark them. :)
Mixing the Two Black Wires doesn't matter becuase the Black Wire = 0V it is common wire used with red and yellow. The Red Wire = 12V and the Yellow Wire = 5V so don't mix the Yellow and Red Wire and be sure to connect the Yellow and Red Wires to the Correct Place in the Connector because if wrong connection made with yellow instead of red it will damage your hardware.
Q: The green light on the back of the power supply comes on when the power cable is plugged. also, every time i plug in the power cable, the fan on the power supply wants to spin, but it stops. The squeezing noise remains and i push the power button - nothing comes on.Before, it used to come on for a few seconds and then it will turn off by itself. I though it was a virus, so i restarted in safe mode to scan it. The PC stayed on for like 30 minutes and then it turned off by itself. But every since it doesn't wants to come on. Is the power supply gone? If so, how can still the green button comes on and the squeezing noise remains?well, I bought a power supply, and with the new power supply, nothing comes on - not even the squeezing noiseplease help me out! I need my PC! thanx in advanced!
Make sure all the cords are properly hooked up properly. I recently bought a new PSU and forgot the most important cord, the main board. Also, make sure the cord for turning on or off the computer didn't come off the motherboard. If that isn't attached, no signal will be sent to turn on the computer.
Q: My power cord for my computer and all usb cables i have seen have these cylindrical things on them. What do they do?
Those devices are for supressing RF interference to external devices. The high data rates, tend to create signals just like transmitters, which can interfere, with you TV, cordless phone, stereo system, etc.
Q: I'm trying to plan out my new install and I'm debating whether or not to spend money on power cable adapters and run o gauge to a distribution block thats 0g in and 4g out, therefore running a 0 to 4g cable adapter inbetween every terminal on the distribution block --or-- to Instead run 0 to the distribution block and 4 from the block to everything. I have a 1200RMS sub amp and a 200RMS 4-Channel amp. Hi output alternator. Big 3. So if anyone can give me some advice on whether or not they're worth the money that would be awesome. Oh and my amps accept 4 gauge.
well hell yeah if you did the big 3 upgrade and end up useing 4gauge wire or thinner it will burn the wire or at least end up corroting it its too much current running through the wire and it might work for awhile but the wire will end up turning brown from the inside just go for the wire upgrade good luck
Q: I recently bought a 750watt power inverter and there are two small cables to connect to it that look like small jumper cables. Can i connect my regular (longer/bigger) jumper cables to the car battery and connect the other end to the inverter cables??Ive been told that this will blow the inverter, and i've been told otherwise. Please let me know if you've had any experience doing this. Thanks,
A secure connection is the best connection. A connection like that can cause hot spots in the connection itself.
