Q: i soldered in one of those ribbon cables on to my hp's laptop power button cause the old ribbon was failing. anyways i am having some issues with this new cable1 the laptop will power on by itself if i insert the ribbon into the motherboard connector2 the only way to power off the laptop is to remove the cable from the mother board connector and that means opening up the whole laptop3 like i said it will power on by itself so that means that i cant turn it on/off with the power buttonevery thing is soldered correctly i dont understand also i am not sure but does the cable have to be like the old one cause the new one i soldered in looks the same? could it be that it needs that one particular cable replaced again? please help me i am sad
Time to hang up our computer repair skills and take it to a shop...
Q: my tv is mounted on the wall, and my friend came round and we tryed to plug in his ps3 and we knocked the main power plug from the tv.we have fiddled about for around an hour looking for wer it came from and need help before my mam gets back!
Ignoring all the upfront on-line research I undertook, I made 8 separate visits to the showrooms of the 'usual suspects' in UK electrical retail I was so torn between the sony panasonic 42 offerings!! As a brands snob I wanted the Sony because I wanted a sony on my wall.. But every time I viewed the TV's in various store environments I kept getting drawn back to the simplicity if the panasonic's operation, the depth of tone / image on screen vs. the sony. After much consideration I went for the panasonic as (for me) it's a better TV to watch TV on!.. Technically the sony has a faster refresh rate plus slightly more advanced image 'in-fill' technology and technically it should therefore give a
Q: Whats the Power Pass mean on a coax cable splitter?
It means it can pass DC current, such as used for satellite LNBs and amplified antennas
Q: I took a vacation last week in Victorville, Ca and i brought my 360, well when i was ready to come back home i packed everthing but my Xbox 360 power cable, now im stuck at home and can't play my 360 or nothing..=[. And i don't wanna order it online. I need some help where to find this.
are u missing the whole power source or just the end cable? the end cable is the same power cord has a computer
Q: it is not the power cable either
That is from the handbook IF THE vigour mild IS BLINKING AMBER — The laptop is receiving electrical vigor, but an internal vigour concern could exist. ? make sure that the voltage decision switch is set to compare the AC energy at your vicinity (if applicable). ? ensure that the processor vigour cable is securely related to the procedure board. Has your pal upgraded or brought whatever? This might most likely require a stronger vigour supply, wile the older one could meet the ouput for a bit of it will fry after a short while.
Q: in the specs it says the power supply doesn't have a pci-e connector?Does that mean i cant use the video card, or is there a way I dont know? Please help.Thank you very much
Okay, right off the bat I see a problem with that power supply. Aside from not having a pci-e connection it states it doesn't work with SLI or Crossfire (i.e. Nvidia or ATI). Since you're wanting to get a GeForce card, which works with a mobo with an Nvidia chipset, you'd need a more up-to-date power supply. Second - that card uses 18 amps on the 12-volt rail, and according to the specs on that power supply it runs up to 16 or 17 amps, so the power supply you're looking at isn't powerful enough to support the card. My advice - first make sure your mobo has an Nvidia Chipset. Second, spend a bit more and get a better power supply, and check the voltage - you need at least 18 amps on the 12-volt for that card.
Q: in my efforts to make everything as simplified as possible (lazy) im looking for a 25' or longer sata cable (also if there is an extension to the power cord thats used to power a cd drive in a desktop) trying to mount the cd drive all the way on the other side of the room (5ft away lol) so that i dont have to get up to change dvds. id mount it to the dvd shelf which is next to the sofa.
No go: What is the maximum length of a SATA data cable? 1m for SATA I, 2m for SATA II The exercise will be good for you. Maybe you have a wife, or a sister?
Q: I blew 2 fuses in my amp in my car, i have replaced them both, one was a 30amp and the other a 20. The 30 amp was an inline fuse from the battery to the amp and the 20 amp was a standard 20 amp fuse in the amp. As i said i replaced both fuses and try the amp again and it wouldnt go. There is a LED light on the top just lighting up a logo, when i attatch the power from the battery the light goes off and when i disconnect it the light comes on. When i dissconect the power the red light for diagnose comes on.
This sounds like a wiring problem i reccomend you completly inspect all wiring to your amp if looks fine then use a test light and test all the wiring if all passes then your problem is within the amp itself. test the remote wire with stereo to car on if wired that way.
Q: So I use my laptop with power and only put in the battery when I take it around. So I sat my computer down and it abruptly just shut down. I powered it on and I set it down again and the same thing happened. The third time it went all the way to the desk top. I touched and moved around the power cable connected to it shut down. WTF
sensitive power supply connection i guess
Q: I never expected this problem, but I have an HP with a liteon power supply. The thing has these weird clips on the power cables that go into the hard drive. How do I free the hard drive power cables? I have to put in a new power supply for my video card.
SATA just pulls out.. actually so does molex connectors (for IDE drives).. just very tough sometimes to get them out. If its black and kinda thin, then its probably SATA and they should just pull straight out.
