Q: i soldered in one of those ribbon cables on to my hp's laptop power button cause the old ribbon was failing. anyways i am having some issues with this new cable1 the laptop will power on by itself if i insert the ribbon into the motherboard connector2 the only way to power off the laptop is to remove the cable from the mother board connector and that means opening up the whole laptop3 like i said it will power on by itself so that means that i cant turn it on/off with the power buttonevery thing is soldered correctly i dont understand also i am not sure but does the cable have to be like the old one cause the new one i soldered in looks the same? could it be that it needs that one particular cable replaced again? please help me i am sad: Time to hang up our computer repair skills and take it to a shop...

Q: Hi everyone. On a national trading website, I am planning on buying a second hand xbox 360. Now the auction I'm aiming for, only comes with the console and the hard drive. No power supply or av cables. But on another auction, they are selling power leads and av cables on their own. I was wondering if all types of power supplies/ av cables work on the different types of xbox's (Elite, Pro, Slimline, Orginal etc)10 points for best answer ;): There are 3 different power supplies, and 5 different types of Xbox. First is the Xenon/Falcon Xboxes. The power supplies for these work with all Xboxes (excl the Slim) Next are the Opus/Zephyr. The power supplies for these ONLY WORK with these consoles. They have a little plastic pin in the plug so that they wont work in any other type of Xbox Lastly we have the Jasper Xboxes. Again, the power supplies only work with these consoles. Unless you buy a power supply for Generation One xboxes (Xenon/Falcon) then you're not guaranteed to get it to work. TBW

Q: Im going to get a new graphics card. I am getting the XFX Geforce 9800 GT and it needs 1 six pin PCI Express power cable. It comes with a cable to convert 2 molex cables into 1 six pin pci power cable. Problem is, is that dont have any molex cables available. I have 4 SATA power cables. So if I got a converter to convert 2 SATA power cables into 2 Molex cables into 1 six pin power cable work? Would I lose any voltage/ watts?
