- Q:I really can't find any info on installation online. I have even been at hardware sites and was given a generic explanation. Do you remove your old carpet?
- By carpet panels,do you mean carpet tiles? If so, you need to remove all your carpet first. Smooth the floor surface,or glue or nail down hardboard panels first. This will ensure even surface throughout area you want to cover.Do your panels have a sticky side? Or do you want to glue them? You need to use suitable glue(hardware shop should know). Measure floor area first. Always start from centre of room working outwards.This ensures any half-cuts you need to make will be on outside walls.Do you not have A Mega 10 website.? - Carpet padding staples can be removed(mostly) by a flooring scraper , if you have one. The kind you stand up to use with a long handle. You ll get most of them out. Others just pound down and carpet and padding will go right over them. GL
- Q:My cousin spilled nail polish all over the carpet! How can we get it off the carpet and wall?
- Often nail polish on carpet is just on the very tips of the fibers. If this is the case you can just snip the polish off with sharp scissors. Just cut the very tips of the fibers. Work slowly. Don't cut a single millimeter more than you have to and pull up while cutting. This will help prevent divots in the carpet. Try your best to do just one or two fibers at a time...not a whole clump. This will work unless you have used nail polish remover and worked the nail polish deeper into the carpet. Good luck. -

- Carpet is pretty cheap....$2-$3 per square foot installed but look for a carpet cleaner who is going is use only Hot Water! You need a restorative process. Make sure the carpet cleaner doesn't use soaps or surfactants - they cause the carpet to rapidly resoil...... Get it clean and get the stains out....if you elect to replace go to Loews or .Home Depot ...they have a carpet that uses a new technology called Puraesque.....it can be done, just make sure you get pros instead of a bunch of nerdowells!

- For decent carpet with good pad, figure about $3 per square foot (installed price). (cheap carpet $2-2.50, high end cpt $4) Laminate comes in many different prices, based on quality. Expect to spend $4.50-5.50 for decent laminate, as low as $3 for the cheap stuff. Buy the best you can afford, you really get what you pay for ESPECIALLY in Laminate. PLEASE, for your own sake, make sure you put in tile landings at the doorways to preserve the life of your laminate floors. Laminate on the stairs is a BAD idea, go with carpet there.
