- One thing that always works and is inexpensive as well. Rubbing alcohol. Here's how you do it: Pour and I mean really pour the rubbing alcohol on to the carpet and completely soak the stain. Then fold up a few paper towels and put directly on the stain. Find some books that are really heavy...like phone books or anything that will cover the stain and let it sit for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, replace the paper towels and do again. Keep doing this until no more stain comes out on to the paper towels. This works, but does take some time. By the way, rubbing alcohol will never hurt the carpet.

- You can't actually get rid of the burns. The carpet where it is burned no longer exists, it's not like taking out a stain. What you could try is to find a remote spot of matching carpet, a closet or something, a place where it won't be noticed if you take a little sample of carpet. Cut out the area around the burn, an inch by inch section or so, and also cut a piece from the closet that is the exact same size. Replace the burnt piece with the closet piece. Some strong glue should hold it in place. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. That has worked for me though. Good luck.

- Replace the carpet. Nothing will ever get all the odor or urine out. It's soaked through to the pad and possibly the concrete under that. You might think about painting a sealant on the concrete after you take up the ruined carpet and pad. Before putting down new carpet. That odor can seep back up from the concrete (or wood) subfloor for years to come. Every time it rains or is damp outside, you very likely will smell it again. Better yet, put down wood laminate or something instead of more carpet.

- Start with any thing from cardboard ,construction paper to just plain newspaper and cut your shape you want and for a nice shape and cut to fit around the stool. Mark the top and bottom with a marker. Turn your carpet pc over and set you template cut out over this remembering to turn that over too. Cut carpet from the back side, cutting just through the carpet backing. Best to use a regular carpet knife but the next best is a utility knife or sometimes called a Stanley knife. These work better than a box cutter but a box cutter will work. Careful not to cut to deep and cut the flooring or surface below.. Old pc of plywood works well since then you can cut through harder.
