- Apartment grade carpeting can run as low as a1$ a s/f ( all flooring is sold by the s/f now by law) installation and pad extra, That equals out to about $1.60/1.70 a s/f installed. Very cheap carpeting, usually no warranties etc.. GL
- Q: I have a shag rug in my room. It's right infront of my mirror where I brush my hair, so now there is always hair caught in the shags of the rug. Also, dog hair gets caught in it from my dog. Vacumming doesn't get the hair out.How do you clean a shag rug? I need to get the hair out of it!Help!
- I suggest...brushing it/raking it. Sounds weird but back in the 70's when shag rug was in, raking was introduced to the carpets. If you rake it, it combs the direction of the carpet, but also pulls materials in from deep within the carpet. If this doesn't work...try a lint brush with teeth. Not a roller that picks up sticky stuff.
- Q: Ok, I have a very dirty carpet with dried on blood stains from one of my pets (He is ok, he had an infection) that's been sitting there for a few weeks. The carpet has not been cleaned for three years, and is very dirty. The stain was pretreated immediately after the incident, but never got out. - Q: my rug is filthy ....we moved in after these people had dogs in my room and it smells like pee when it gets hot so i decided to clean it today and i put Woolite on and scrubbed it then water and soap on it( i didnt care) now its wet and i want to vacuum it up with a regular vacuum .. is this ok and will my carpet stop making my room smell since i scrubbed it twice with Woolite and water and soap

- If anything, put a rug in the bathroom. This way it kind of helps with the water when getting out of the shower. Personally, I think they add a lot of detail and decoration.

- You'll be doing your allergies a major favor by removing wall-to-wall carpeting and replacing it with hardwood or tiled floors. If you don't have the option of removing carpets, what can you do? Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum!
- Q: The pad is worn out under the carpet in traffic areas, but the carpet is fine.
- the carpet might not go back down after. it might tear or rip, they can kind of dry rot. if you can find a carpet installation guy that would attempt it, he might not make any guaranty that it will work out right. that's the problem when people don't get the premium quality stuff that makes the carpet look good for a long time. our installer came out with the wrong stuff, then thought that i'd accept it. he had to go back to the warehouse and get the heavy padding that we ordered. good luck, but it might not work out for you. i wouldn't do it unless you can afford to replace it if it doesn't work out. and then it will have cost you more than just putting in a new carpet. buying the best padding helps the carpet last longer.

- you are going to have to do some leg work for this one. You will never match it on line, go to some carpet stores.
