Like dogs cats have a way more sensitive nose to us so he can probably still smell his urine on there. This stuff works well and can be bought from a good pet shop. Also i switched my litter to the crystals. My cats had to get used to it because they were used to the clumping litter but the crystals draw away the oder and draw the wee to the bottom so it lasts longer.
