At CNBM International Co. Carpet Dept., we design and weave  beautiful carpets of superb durability - with axminster, tufted and wilton carpets to suit all hospitality environments. · There is no size limitation on rug size.  Rugs can be created with a variety of materials from pure wool to woolen silk, from natural fiber to chemical fiber.

Q:rug is wool. its new. it costs 80 dollars to clean with the company.. id rather do it by hand.what besides hot water and a rug.. do i put on it to clean it by hand?
Let the pros clean it since it's wool. Do NOT use hot water on it.If it's just the smell then open all the windows and let it air out. The smell will disappear. If you have a clean garage lay it in there on top of sawhorses or clean trashcans so the air can circulate.
Q:I just moved into a new apartment about three weeks ago, and the carpet in only one room smells like ammonia. It's a really terrible smell and it won't go away after vacuuming many times. I know they shampooed the carpets before I move in. The lady before me who lived here had a dog. I know urine can smell like ammonia after it's sat awhile. Could it be that her dog peed on the carpet? Any ideas about how to get rid of the smell without shampooing the carpet?
That is urine. You need to call a professional. First they need to find the areas affected with a black light. Then they need to treat each area with 1-2 quarts of enzymatic cleaner. Suck it out with a truckmount carpet cleaner and an attachment called a water claw sub surface extractor. You see, most of the urine is in the pad, some is in the carpet, some may be in the sub floor. There is no way to effectively deal with this yourself. How do I know? I am a pro carpet cleaner with easily 10,000 pet urine stains worth of experience, I know, people call me after they give up. After the carpet is extracted, I will rinse it with 2-4 quarts of water per stain, basically twice as much as the cleaner. Again I extract with the water claw. I get 99% of the moisture I put in back out. If I used a Rug Dr, I'd leave about 98% in. With a shop vac, maybe only leave 90% of what I put in. I much prefer to leave 1% in. Then I will clean your carpet and use a low pH rinse agent. You see, urine smells like ammonia, because the nitrates in urine eventually become ammonia. Ammonia has a pH around 12.0, which is very high. You want you carpet to be close to a neutral pH after you clean it, around 7.0. 12 being 5 points over 7 means I will rinse with something with a pH of 2, neutralizing the carpet back to 7 and the ammonia is gone. Use a certified pro that knows what they are doing. Your landlord is obligated to pay, he rented you an apartment that was represented as clean and it obviously isn't. You could take him to court over this. It is called breech of contract basically you are not receiving what you are paying for.
Q:Handmade rag rug, about 40 or 50 years old. It has gotten very dirty over the years and also has smoke smell in it. Any ideas how to clean it or what type of establishment would clean it? Thanks!
Rag Rugs are usually pretty durable, so take it to your local laundromat that has a large capacity washer (some are double loads and some even have quadruple load washers) and throw it in with some regular laundry detergent on cold. I would spin it as dry as you can in the machine and then take it home and let it air dry. It could shrink if you throw it in the dryer. It should wash up very well.
Q:I was wondering how shark steam mop performed on carpets. does it remove stains and spots?
I don't own one, but they appear to be designed for hard flooring such as tile and linoleum. There's only a cloth at the bottom where the steam passes through. I think you'd really be struggling trying to use one on carpet. A better alternative would be a carpet cleaner, Bissell and Hoover are both good brands. Expect to pay $150-300 and up. But for a budget, I love the Little Green Machine by Bissell which is much smaller. Don't try to clean an entire carpeted area with it or you'll be exhausted! But it's great for cleaning upholstery and for picking up spills on carpet, and doesn't take up a lot of storage space. Costs around $100 and you can get it at WalMart and many other retailers. Then if you need to do your whole carpet, you can rent an extractor for around $25 (check with your local supermarket, they probably rent Rug Doctor, etc.). You can get the job done in a day and not have a bulky machine taking up valuable closet space the rest of the year.
Q:Normal household carpet. NOT industrial carpet. Per square foot.
The average price for carpet will depend on a few things. The type of yarn, the amount of yarn and type of store you buy it from. Unless you are comparing apples to apples it is not possible to get a fair average price. I have a carpet business and customers ask a question like this all the time. So this is what I tell them. My company has a 25 ounce carpet with a FHA padding for $6.99 per square yard. Just over 77 cents a square foot. This carpet is not industrial and is better then rental carpeting. And the price goes up from this point. You must tell the store you are call the exact type of carpet you want to get comparison prices, that way you are apples to apples, not whatever store one gives you compared to store two. Installation cost run around 30 cents per square foot in my area (depending on size of job, type of carpet, stairs etc.)
Q:Can I use a fabric dye (RIT), and just paint it on the 3quot; wide border? Want to change from present light blue to dark brown.jackie
I have worked with Rit dyes quite frequently and although they are good dies for natural fibers, I am not sure painting a boarder will net the results you desire. First of all, the dye has to be mixed with salt. Because you will not be able to rinse and spin the dye out of he rug, that salt will just remain in your rug when the dye has dried. This may leave salt crystals in your rug along with making it quite stiff. And,because the dye is wet, it will certainly bleed outside of the boarders of the rug. Another problem is the dye bleeding onto the floor causing permanent damage. Even if you can jump over these obstacles, the dye will remain in the rug, full strength because it can not be rinsed and spun out, so it can easily transfer the color from the rug to your shoes to other areas of the house. And, heaven forbid, if the rug gets wet at a later date it will reactivate the dye and boy I will hear you cursing from here. So, you see, using this type of dying process is really full of challenges and there is too much to go wrong so I do not think it is worth the risk. However, there may be other dyes I am unaware of. Do an internet search on dyes and also rug dying to get some helpful hints and possible products that will net you the results you are after. I have lots of resources that I will check on and edit my answer if I get more information.
Q:i took my carpet there was carpet underneath it looks pretty good but . but how do i get the glue marks off any suggestions
I don't quite understand--they glued carpet TO carpet? That's the laziest thing I've ever heard. Carpet adhesive can't be removed from carpeting, you have to tear it all out and replace it. Keep going and see if you hit hardwood floors, much better looking.
Q:I have wall to wall carpets in my apartment. I have placed large rugs on top of the carpet. Without damaging the carpet or the rug, how can I stop them from .wrinkling and moving? Is it caused by static electricity?
A grand piano would keep the rug in place. Short of that i'd go with a felt pad or something similar. Remember, as you walk your feet are pushing the rug in the opposite direction that you are trying to go, that is why they are wrinkling up over time. So you can either pin them down under something (piano), put some friction between the rug and carpet (felt pad) or stop walking on them.
Q:I need to patch a section of my carpet. The size I need to patch is 2 feet by 1 1/2 feet. I will be patching just a few inches from the wall/front door. Here's my questions:1. Will the patch job be noticeable at all or will it blend in to the other carpet? 2. Will the replaced carpet piece be loose or need stretched? 3. What if the carpet I am patching doesn't exactly match because my current carpet is used and the patch will be brand new? I've never done this before so any advice for a first timer would be awesome! Thanks!
Hire a pro. They will come in match the carpet if possible, they should then cut out the old piece, and tape in the new one from the bottom, using a wax based tape and hot iron
Q:I asked about what to cut carpet with, but now I'm questioning whether I should cut the carpet out at all. A floor lamp I had fell over and burned a hole the size of a half dollar in my apt. carpet. I want to repair it so I don't have to pay for carpet replacement. Since it's an actual hole and not just burned at the tips, do you suggest patching the carpet?
If its too big of a burn mark then It may not work out very well.. but check it out and you make the choice! gosh, I hope this helps you!
