Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q: My roommate spilled fruit punch on our carpet a month ago. Any idea how to get it out?
Wow...a month? Bummer. Well, if its a PURE white carpet, I'd recommend trying a bleach-based cleanser. Spray it on, let it soak for a minute, then rub it out and spray with clean water and step the water out with towels till the area's bleach-free dry. Or you could look for a cleaner called Spot-Shot. However, this is usually best on fresh stains... Good luck. (PS - try putting this under Cleaning Laundry in the House Garden section as well...you might get some more answers there)
Q: specifically, throw rug on carpet which shifts and moves out of place.
There are rug pads for this appropriate reason. they are made from a type of sticky foam, and it seems that like it really is a type of mesh. i'm no longer confident what you got at Wal-mart, yet i does no longer imagine that they could carry this in any case. you have to be able to purchase one at a good furnishings save that still sells section rugs. additionally they help to operate some cushion to it so as that the rug does no longer placed on down as quick. i purchased mine on the furnishings save I save at, it changed into about $35. for 5x8 length.
Q: How Do I Install Carpet, I just installed the wood tacking boards and new foam padding. and now am lost as what to do next.
If you want it done properly you should hire someone to do it because they do have the right tools for the job. If you just want to fly at it and try on your own, then there are a few things you should probably know. Make sure you've installed the wood tacking boards correctly as they will be of no use to you if you put them in the wrong direction I'm sure. when you install your carpet make sure that there is a little space between the edge of your carpet and the wall (you can trim later) because over time your carpet is going to stretch and you'll get ripples in it if it's jammed right against the wall. The space will be covered by base boards anyway. If you don't have any seams to worry about, that's better. If you do you may have to contact someone who knows what they are doing. There is like a sticky/glue tape that will go on the underside of the carpet to join them together and then you have to use a hot iron in order to activate the glue...I wouldn't recommend trying this on your own. Think of it this way...worst case scenario is that you install it and have to later get someone to come in and do it correctly. I'm sure it will look great and kudos to you for attempting your own renovations. It's apparent that you looked into how to lay carpet as most people have no idea about the wooden strips you use to keep the carpet in place....or they will skip the underlay and just throw new carpet on top of old. --- Oh and by the way there is a special tool used to stretch your carpet ...I imagine it's called a carpet stretcher lol, but I'm not sure and that too looks like a job for professionals. When my mom installed her bedroom carpet she did so without the tools, and it turned out perfect, not a single flaw.
Q: What material is good for bedroom carpet
Home bedroom carpet, this material carpet not only maintains inherent beauty of the fiber in a long time, linen has a good characteristic of the texture of the carpet
Q: What can i do to make the bumps go away? i tried vacuuming and that works until i put the table on top of the rug. Help?
lay the rug out upside down and place some weight on the problem ares....boxes of books, or canned goods for example...it don't have to be too heavy. let it go for a few days and then turn the rug over and do the same with any problem areas
Q: I need to carpet my whole house because there are extremely ugly tiles throughout the house. I cannot afford professional carpeting. I want to do it myself. My questions are: do carpet tiles look good? And approximately whats the price of carpet tiles, the amount for one regular size room?
Carpet tiles look fine. I'm in a commercial building where carpet tiles are used almost everywhere, and they look and function quite well. They also have the advantage that if damage occurs, or wear becomes too noticeable, the tiles can be pulled up and replaced. Prices vary a lot according to the design, depth of the pile, resistance to wear, etc.
Q: I ordered carpet and was given a brand name and color for the carpet I picked. Now I can't find anything about this carpet manufacturer online. It sounded as if the lady said that the manufacturer was quot;Belrockquot;. Can anyone help me? Maybe I misunderstood the name?Carpet - quot;Belrockquot; (?)Color - quot;Cambridge Goldquot;Style - Twist quot;Friezequot;
I've never heard of it. It could be that this is the pattern name and not the manufacturer - you may try confirming at the store. Many designers/retailers don't want to give the names of what they are selling, since they don't want to be price-shopped either locally or online. Also, some carpets have several names, even though the manufacturer and the carpet are exactly the same! Larger stores have carpets under private label, but they may be the same as a dozen other carpets on the market. The manufacturers to this to create exclusivity for their dealers. It makes it hard as a consumer, but this is the reality.
Q: My parents bought a 5 x 7 area rug about 20 years ago, at K-Mart or somewhere abouts, and bequeathed it to me when I moved out. The colors are still really nice, but the problem is- and I suspect this has always been the case- its a bear to get clean. I don't mind a few spots, but it collects hair like mad. Its a very tight-woven rug, with no long strands. I run my Dirt Devil upright over it usually three or four times, and nothing budges. Is there a vacuum cleaner that is powerful enough to disentange hair from the carpet fibers? I really don't want to throw it out or store it, but I can't afford to have it professionally cleaned, at $100 a go, every month.
You can rent a cleaner for a day and clean it yourself. Dirt devil vacuums aren't that great for rugs I'm afraid.
Q: ive been looking online but i have no idea what size to get him.. he is a pacer or a trotter, standard bred// i think 19hands..all the rugs ive found online say 5.9 6.0 etc.. how do i know what.what my horse is?
rugs are sized in feet and inches, and are measured from the centre of his chest to the point of his rump, this will give you a feet and inches length for the length of the rug. they are usually sized in 3 inches, so 5'9, 6, 6'3, 6'6 etc. from the photos he looks to be about 16 hands - he's gorgeous by the way - and not too long, so he will probably need something between a 6 and a 6'6. it's better to have them slightly too long than too short. my tb is massive, he's 17.1 and really long and stringy and he wears a 7' and sometimes a 7'3 rug depending on the make. it's great because they are the ones that are always on sale because no one ever buys them. :)
Q: I have carpet with dog urine stains and the like. When I use cleaners my carpet is either stained darker or not affected. The even bigger problem is that my carpet is white. If you know how to remove stains from white carpet or have any tips on how to eliminate the odor, they'd be greatly appreciated.
Well, first i'd try a carpet cleaning machine...you can rent one, i know in my hometown you could rent them from the local grocery store. But things like that are getting pretty affordable soo you might be able to find one for cheap, which may not be a bad idea since you have a dog, and since your probably not planning on getting rid of him you will probably have to clean the carpet again in the future. If using a carpet cleaner is out of the question, then i'd suggest using white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide, the stuff in the brown bottle from the drug store. You probably have a bit of both in your home already. Definately stay away from using chemicals not meant for carpets, i learned that lesson when i was 12 and had a kool aid spill on the living room carpet. My mother still is'nt quite sure how it got a hole in it..lol...anyway. Make sure that what'ever you decide to use, you test a very small spot in some corner or somewhere out of site, just to be sure that it won't make it worse, or act in a negative way with your carpet.
