Wheels dont usually come with bearings. So yes. Or you could just use the bearings out of the wheels that you already have. Often times inexpensive wheels are slow due to bad quality urethane being used(im talking generic Ebay wheels.) Here are a few options that are quality/inexpensive. the noise is the first clue. The other way to tell is to drive it on the highway for a while, then when you stop get out and feel the center of the wheels. If they are really hot there is a good chance that your bearings are going.

So if you look at any of her other boards you will see in the wheels there is a metal ring that is a bearing. A bearing allows the wheels to spin. One size fits all and differences are the rating also you need 8 bearings for 4 wheels -Ratings are like ABEC, ABEC 7 bearings are more popular. I recommend 7 lower numbers are slower and I hear bad things about anything higher,although Bones Bearings(a brand) has no scale ,but trust me these are some of the best bearings you will find, I ride them and many people as well ride them. Any skate shop would sell them. Probably not department stores. I recommend Bones Reds About $18 Bones Super Reds About $25 And any lucky ABEC7 Bearings Although I HIGHLY recommend the bones reds or super reds! Another thing you could get is bearing lube..it speeds them up

You can certainly do the majority of the labor and parts replacement. Any machine work to the crank shaft or connecting rods as well as any balancing that is needed will have to be farmed out to a shop that has the equipment needed to do that type of work.

Disconnect the caliber,pull off the rotor,remove the axle nut,remove the bearing assemble bolts(3or4bolts)hammer off the old bearing assemble,the lug nut studs are part off the bearing hub.Reverse the process for the new one

The abec number is basicaly meaningless for skates and boards. Any abec number can be great or junk depending on the maker. Most non-abec bearings are absolute junk but some of the best companies (Zero Drag, Twin Cam, Bones) specificaly design their best bearings to violate the abec specs to make them better. Getting any of them from a reasonable skate/board company will be good. The main differences in most bearings is the lubricant (grease is slower at first but lasts forever, oil is fast but you need to reoil them more frequently, gels are in between). In some cases the lubricant makes a difference in rust resistance if you hit wet areas. Twin Cam has been known for very high rust resistance and Bones for low rust resistance.

Q:i noticed a kind of humming noise coming from the front of the truck, my gut reaction is its the bearings going out. if i remember correctly its a pretty straight forward process.1. remove wheel2. remove caliper3. remove the bearing cap4. remove the spindle nut5. remove rotor and replace bearingspretty sure thats the sum of it, but do any you need any special tools? its been a while since i've done any bearing work and now i at college at my tool arsenal is basically limited to a 100 or so piece craftsman set.

no special tools is required,a good socket set channel lock players or the right size wrench to remove the spindle nut,tap out the rear bearing cap to remove the rear bearing,you should also replace the bearing race in the router,repack the bearings with a good bearing grease then replace router.make sure you tightened the spindle nut to the right specks,not too tight or loose.also replace a new cotter pin.
