- Q:Is it acceptable to glue 3/4 engineered wood flooring to a concrete floor?
- To be honest I ve never seen a 3/4 engineered hardwood. 3/8s and 1/2 inch yes, both of those which can be nailed or glued. Glue only on cement of course. You ll have to get w/ the manufacture and see what they say to do. E mail me back thru my avatar what you find out for sure, I m always eager to learn something new GL P S , if you do find it to be gluable, e mail me and I l give some pointers.Have you checked your cement for any moisture/ hydrostatic pressure?
- Q:Solid wood flooring and solid wood flooring
- "Flat floor" this name is just a process, indicating that the surface of the floor is "flat", which is different from some of the antique floor, antique floor surface is uneven wood.
- Q:Solid wood flooring how to repair scratches?
- A: in the scratch painted brown or light colored leather leather oil, oil and paint on the door must be color light similar, with a dry cloth and rub along the grain, until the color of wood covered deep scratches, and waxing and polishing.
- Q:I have been spending a lot of time researching and inspecting. For those who have actual experience with both these type of floors, would you please give me your take on whcih one to go for.My biggest concern keeping me away from going solid hardwood, is the scratching/denting, particularly the scratching part factor. It apperars that lamiate flooring is a lot harder and more durable to abuse. It is my house, but I do not want to live like a guest in it. Taking the shoes off, watching not to pull the chair to fast, etc. Thanks for your input.
- Mannington floors makes a new vinyl called Adura. It is sturdier than the other choices and comes in planks and tiles. Look at the flooring stores in your town, or go online and look for it. They have some hand scraped pieces and beautiful strips of wood..
- Q:What are the types of solid wood flooring on the market?
- Aggrandizement wood floorThe scientific name of laminate flooring is impregnated paper laminated wood floor. It is also a three layer structure: the surface is a wear-resistant material containing melamine resin impregnated decorative paper, the core layer of medium and high density fiberboard or particleboard, the bottom of the resin impregnated with the balance of phenolic resin. The characteristics of this kind of floor, wear resistance and dimensional stability
- Q:Three layers of solid wood composite floors or multi-storey wood composite floors
- Three betterSolid wood composite floorThe so-called composite floor. The 'composite floor' for the laminate flooring. For example, there are some (living home) multi-layer solid wood flooring, three floors of solid wood flooring and so on are one of them, so we have to understand this.
- Q:Remodeling -- getting wood floors --- should I do solid or engineered wood flooring?
- If you are laying your floor over a concrete slab, you have to do engineered wood. It really depends on what your subfloor is made of. If you don't have a concrete slab to lay over, then look into the warranty offered and the look of the wood. If I could, I would do solid wood. Unfortunately we have a slab floor. Good luck!!
- Q:What is the general brush on the surface of the wood floor is better
- We should avoid the bump process of wooden floor, the best at the door is provided with a plurality of soft bottom slippers, for family and guests to enter.Wooden floor in the use of the process, should pay attention to the safety of water, avoid drinking water and other acts of dumping. If you accidentally poured a small amount of wood on the floor, need not panic too, should be timely with a dry cloth or paper towels absorb the water fall, then cool fan dryer, air conditioning with moisture in the family function, you can also open the moisture function. General solid wood floor has six sides sealing paint treatment, a small amount of water will not cause too much trouble. But it should be timely and dry, to avoid moldy black.
- Q:If I am not wrong Solid hardwood is one piece hardwood, engineering is multiple peice sheets glued on top of each other and Laminated is just plastic. Please correct me.Here is my situation.
- Hardwood flooring would give you the best resale for the money, but is expensive. Hardwood could run anywhere from 3 to 10 dollars per square foot. If it is scratched, it can be sanded and redone later on. Engineered is a hardwood floor, but cannot be refinished in case something happens. Also costs around 2.5 to 4 dollars square foot. Laminate looks a little cheaper, but will hold up better than hardwood or Engineered in the long run. I would suggest the Pergo 30 year warranty. Hardwood has to be nailed down to the floor, Engineered has to be tacked or glued down and laminate is free floating. In the case of the hardwood and engineered, you would have to pull up the ceramic tile. With laminate, you MAY not have to do that. Laminate in stock should cost around 2 to 4 dollars a square foot. A lot of laminate floors now look like the real thing. I suggest you do some window shopping to find out for yourself.
- Q:Iam looking to do my dinning room in Hardwood Floor's. I keep seeing Engineered Hardwood floors. So I was just wondering if someone could tell what the difference was between them if any..
