Q: in these automatic models (gs) the transmission constantly shifts and acceleration is noticeably worse than the automatic ones, wondering what i could do to enhance the performance of my transmission
I have a '98 LS automatic and I've been having the same problems. Basically, there's nothing you can really do about it, it's the way the car was designed. The automatic Integras have taller gear ratios than the manuals(as well as fewer gears), which is why it's constantly downshifting for power like if you're going uphill or passing someone on a highway. Just about any automatic four-cylinder will have similar behavior, there's really not a whole lot you can do about it. When you car shifts, is it doing it smoothly or is it jerking itself into gear? If you notice a roughness in the shifting, it could be a sign that your transmission is in bad form. With the older Integras, an easy way to tell if your tranny is going bad is to look at the shift pattern that's on your dash(right on the tach). There's little green/red lights that light up when you shift into gear(I'm sure you've seen them). If you shift into D4 and there's green light around around where it says D4 on your dash, it's an indication that your transmission is starting to go bad. This happened to me about 2 years ago, but my car is still running fine(despite the constant jerking). If this is the case, you may want to start saving for a replacement transmission while you still have time. But don't worry about it, mine's been doing it for years and I've yet to have my transmission replaced.
Q: how much does it cost for slipping transmission repair? and where is the best place to go.?? im here at calgary, alberta.thanks
if it just started to slip go to any garage and have the transmission fluid and filter changed. before doing that check the fluid. it will slip if it,s too low. i am assuming it,s automatic because you did not say what it is. if it,s a manual you probably need a new clutch and that won,t be a cheap fix.
Q: how do you adjust the bands on a siarra2004hd transmission?
iron ores are created under extreme pressures underneath the earth using heat and several gases to create a rock like form with tiny bits of ferrous and ferric elements. Both are iron, one being in a greenish form and one in a reddish form. Those rocks are then taken to labs and are broken down and the iron particles are separeted from the rock and then accumulated to become iron. let me know if mines the best answer :)
Q: My 03 Accent has 125k miles on it and just started having problems shifting gears. It has a hard time in reverse, but is fine in 1st. It lurches pretty hard when shifting up, but once on the highway it does fine. When slowing down, it lurches and shifts back and forth into low/high gears. What can I do, or what should I check. The transmission fluid is fine as is the engine oil.

Q: Alright, so I have a 1988 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 v8 4x4. I was driving it the other day and noticed that it started to rev up more than usual when I was driving on the highway. The day after, the truck would go up to 30 m.p.h., and wouldn't go any faster but it would continue to rev up. I replaced the transmission fluid and it did nothing to help. What could the problem be!?
Transmission is most likely shot. 700r4 is notorious for doing that, it happened to me in '88 Chevy pickup
Q: My block is cracked in the 97 and I can buy a 92 for $300 that only needs a transmission so I was wondering if I could combine the 2?
the trans will fit no problem, just not sure about the electronics. or the shifter linkage. i'm sure you could get it to work.
Q: isuzu pup 81 Transmission?
try a salvage yard for one, they may have a good one to fit it,if you don't find one, you may have to get the one you have repaired, good luck.
Q: i own a 2000 bmw z3 2.3 roadster. my dad and i were putting a new radiator in and we forgot to bolt up the transmission lines so when i turned it over, transmission fluid sprayed all over. we hooked it up and turned it over again, only to find out that it now will not go into any gear without slipping. by slipping i mean catching and releasing so the car kinda rocks forward a little and rolls back.i jacked the car up and crawled under it and took out the bottom plug to see if transmission fluid was in it and it poured out. i checked the other plug located on the side of it and that poured out too. ive also noticed that the transmission fluid bucket thing where you pour it in hasnt drank any down. the car only has 30k miles on it, so i dont suspect the transmission to be failing. any help would be great. Thanks!
Is the transmission light on? Its the toothed wheel symbol on the lower right of your instrument cluster These transmission are very sensitive to fluid level and fluid type, as they are lifetime fluids and are not supposed to be changed. sounds like you might bee in limp mode, this is where the transmission locks itself in 3rd gear and doesn't shift up or down. I'd the light is on, disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnect the battery, turn car on, let out warm up and go through the gears slowly without moving the car. let the car idle in each gear for at least 10 seconds. Even of this fixes it, i would try to put the correct fluid that you lost in the processes back in.
Q: I have a 2000 Chevy Impala i recently had my transmission fuel and filter changed and transmission fix-it added, now my car goes out of gear when i driving on the main roads or come to a complete stop i have to turn my car off for a few minutes then restart and it continues this cycle every 10 minutes, however when I‘m driving on the highway it does not shift out of gear. Now I‘m told I need to replace my sensors and or torque converter or catalytic converter which could fix the problem just wanted to know if this was true or did I need to replace my transmission?
First; transmissions have fluid filter they don't use fuel. when the person put transmission fix-it is this an additive that is one of those miracle in a can things ? Because they simply don't work. Most times they are used; they are used improperly and cause more damage than good. People think that it's a cheap fix rather than rebuilding the transmission but, it's not very often that they do what people think they are supposed to do. And they have to get a rebuilt transmission anyway. The catalytic converter is on the exhaust system not the transmission, replacing it wouldn't effect the trans. at all. Since they didn't say which sensors to replace, disregard that diagnosis. If you replace the torque converter it MAY solve your problem but it will cost about as much as a rebuild. I'm not a transmission EXPERT but I would take the car into a good, reliable transmission shop. Instead of some fly-by-night place to get an expert opinion, since you got ripped-off this time around. Don't be too surprised if you have to replace the transmission with a rebuild.
Q: 1990 240SX 115K on the motor, 113K on the automatic transmission, put it in drove fine for about 2 months, then it started shifting really hard from 1st to 2nd gear, then around two weeks later i went to drive it, and it is stuck in second gear.oh and reverse works as wellwhat might be the problem anyone have any ideas?
Your talking about an auto to manual conversion. Shouldn't be too difficult since you already have all the parts you need with your wrecked 240, but if you asking is if all you need is the motor and tranny than no.you will need to do more work than that.
