- Q:my sister and i were driving, and we bumped into a curb, and the back left tire just went flat, so we rushed to the nearest gas stationwe put air in itbut unfortunately, it didnt work. so we had to call the towing service and payed 55 dollars to change with spare tire.but he found a bubble in the front left tire. (explain please) and he said u would have to replace BOTH left tiresthe model is a volkswagon ‘06 passat and the tires michelin? Pilot? MXM4?. and the cars crappy overall, but we don‘t feel like paying 500+ for tires. the volkswagon dealership services our car once in a while.and we have car insurance.anything that would cover this would be appreciated
- The tire must be replaced, as it is unsafe to drive with a bubble on it. The bubble was due to hitting the curb. There is no need to replace both tires, unless they are worn down. There is no coverage unless you bought the road hazard, and therefore would be covered. I have to agree with you, the tire is an expensive one, as I work for a tire dealer.
- Q:Hi i have a 2003 beetle and I need new tires. The goodyear guy is trying to sell me tires that cost $600-800. I have to believe that there are just as good tires for me out there that won‘t cost me 3 monthsworth of a car payment. I was looking through their sale tires and I have a deal with Doral tires. All 4 tires for $300. Are these good tires?? Does anyone have these tires on their car? Did you like them or not? Thanks
- well, its just that too many people are too lazy to buy a stick shift, they want manual transmission. But things they don't realize are: A stick shift gets better mileage A stick shift breaks down less because of the less engine needs Stick shifts are better because people who don't know how to drive them can't break into them A stick shift has a less complicated engine because it doesn't need the ability to automatically switch gears
- Q:I have a 2003 Honda C-RV that is maintained regularly. It has 33,000 miles on it. I‘m going to be driving from the SF bay area to Arizona and back later this year and I don‘t want any tire problems. Should I be thinking about getting new tires?
- usually the bigger, or longer cars have them. its rare to find a everyday car with a windshield wiper on the rear, unless its a luxery car.
- Q:The front tires say 35 PSI but I could not see what it said on the rear tires. Do the rear tires generally get less PSI than the front, or more, or the same? Also is it ok that I just over inflated to 37 PSI?Thanks
- The more air you put in the less the whole surface of the tire contacts the road. Which results in uneven tire wear. The less air you put in, more of the tire contacts the road causing better grip sometimes. A few pounds or even 5 pounds isnt going to make a difference. All cars just about require or ask for equal tire pressure all around. Just read the side of your tires and look for the # before the PSI. and that should tell u for sure.
- Q:Some people say that plugs are not a god idea, some say depending on the type of plug, they are just as good as a standard tyre.1.Pluged from the inside using a mushroom fitting i have been told is the best possible repair yet shops always say its a temporary measure. because they want you to buy a new ?120 tyre? possibly?2. Plugged from outside is just to get you off the road side is little more ‘quick fix‘ and with 38psi pushin on it will cause alot of stress with flex.Alot of people say that the plugs are not a good idea but have tehy tried them? people i spoken too so far have tried them and say they are fine. but i not spoken to anyone yet who have tried them and had a problem. sureley cant of killed all of them? are people jsut little catious using them so give there opinion? help me out guys. thanks alot in advance
- If the tire has a tube in it, then all you need to do is replace the tube. If the tire is tubeless, then you will need to patch and/or plug it. If the nail is straight in the tire (that means not entering on an angle or from the sidewall), then you can use a plug/patch combo. This is simply a patch with a plug in the center, which you repair from the inside of the tire. If the nail in angled, then you can only use a patch. Plugs don't work very well when the hole is on the sidewall, but you may still use a separate plug and separate patch on the inside. Purchase a good patch repair kit from you local dealer or auto store and follow the instructions to a tee. Then it'll most likely hold up for the rest of the life of the tire.
- Q:i‘ve some good discount for firestone tires for my corolla, but a friend said that Firestone tires are not that safe, so i Googled and found this bad publicity back in 2001 where ford explorer SUVs had so many accidents due to the tires peeling off. What do you think? are these tires now safe? thanks.
- Since then, Firestone has recalled that line of tires. They have also since fixed any major defects in their design. The imperfections in the tires were not in the design, but in the manufacturing process. Besides, even if the tires still weren't fixed, it wouldn't matter to you because all the problems were with truck tires, specifically those sold to Ford in 2001 for the Explorers.
- Q:How long can a car tire be used?
- It depends on road conditions and personal driving habits it! There is to see what brand it, such as Michelin by Bridgestone grinding fast but the rice is comfortable! Ordinary people with a car on 2 to 3 years! The
- Q:Tire question
- Several brands of tires are good. but Michelin are the best tires.
- Q:I am wondering what every ones thoughts are on rotating tires. I know that everyone has heard that you should rotate the tires on your car or truck every so often. I am of the opinion that this was only something made up by the tire companies to sell more tires. If you notice the back tires on a front wheel drive car hardly wear since they only roll without any torque being applied. If you did not rotate tires the back tires would last through two sets of new tires on the front. Therefore, I can not see buying 4 tires when you would only have to buy 2 if you did not rotate them as suggested. What is your opinion?
- rotating tires have a far greater impact than money. even tire wear is safer and the tires will last longer. as the fronts wear, so does the geometry of your suspension. front wheel drive has an inherent problem. they have to do all the work. braking, turning, acceleration, and support the majority of the vehicles weight. BTW, it's a fact, the tires will last longer, and in the end will save you money. your choice
- Q:My tires are only a year old and I noticed a slight bulge running up and down on one tire.
- When the steel bead in the tire sidewall breaks. It could happen when you hit a curb or a pothole. You should replace the tire.
