Q:is this a decent tire?
Our four wheeled 'friends' steer much differently. On a bike you are leaning more than steering. If you look at the size and tread pattern of most bikes you will notice that they usually have close to the same diameter overall but the front is usually a larger rim. This is because of the gyro/weight/control factor that a larger (read heavier) wheel would put on that dynamics. You should also notice that the tread pattern is reversed, this is done fore two reasons. One the front pattern is angled to 'wash-away' water for more traction to the rear in it's same path but also to give you more of a 'cat's-paw' effect in the road surface.
Q:What does twi mean on car tires?
Tire wear Indicator Tire wear indicator. The tires of the car tires to the mark. According to the wear of the tire to choose the time to change the tire, all tires in the pattern depth of 1.6 mm there are wear marks, where there are wear marks have a small bump, the boss called "tread wear mark" Boss next to the "tread wear mark" abbreviation "TWI", in the normal use of the premise, the tire wear to reach this raised place, it means the need to replace the tires.
Q:i recently replaced my passenger side front tire because it had a knot, here it is 2 months later and a new tire and a new knot. what could be the reason why my tires are getting knots?
you could desire to declare it as salvage and sign in it through vehicle call Branding and get a Rebuilt Salvage call. Doing so differs from State to State, even nevertheless it many times starts off by making use of having your assurance verify that that's salvage.
Q:Okay. Here's the deal:Got 4 new Tires and Alignment in August.Car Runs GREAT.UNTILI Had my Tires Rotated Yesterday (Way over due I know)Now Car feels like it's pulling to the right.Could this be uneven wear on the tires and the pull will lessen as the tread gets used to the rotationOR do I need an alignment again?
Heres the skinny. and you said it yourself, you waited too long to rotate the tires and it is the tire wear what is causing the problem. I did the same thing. We live and learn.
Q:Need new tires for me 02 escalade wondering if anyone could tell me if these tires are good or not if not any other recommendations for around $150 a tire
I assume you are referring to the Kumho Road Venture AT KL78. Also, I assume you are in need of a LT265/70R17 sized tire. The Road Venture AT KL78 is a decent quality tire. However, there are certainly better quality tires available for the same amount of cash. You do realize the Kumho KL78 is a On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tire, correct? Sure that is what you want for your Escalade? If it is the BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain T/A, Firestone Destination A/T or the General Grabber AT 2 would all be better tires for the money. Only use this type of tire though if you are truly going to be off roading in you Cadillac. Otherwise, consider getting a highway all season tire instead such as the Firestone Destination LE 2 or the Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S G051. They would be much more comfortable and long lasting. FYI, all tires I have mentioned can be had for $150 or less.
Q:why are they called radial tyres
In the old days tires were "Bias Ply". That means the cords in the rubber ran around the tire. Radial ply means the cords that are closest to the pavement run the radius of the tire. Radial tires roll easier and grip better in hard turns. Much better than the old tires.
Q:We are shopping around for a van and a friend of mine told me that SOME but not all AWD Siennas require a special tire, costing at least $800 for a set of 4. Can anyone tell me which models of Sienna AWD require these tires and what are the tires called?
The only thing I could think of is if your Sienna was equipped with V speed rated tires from the factory. The speed rating is best described as a sort of performance rating, at least here in the US. If this is what your friend is referring to, then he/she is right that V-rated tires are typically more expensive than lower-rated tires, although at least $800 for a set of 4 is simply throwing numbers out there. HOWEVER, on most vehicles that came from the factory with a V-rated tire, it is perfectly safe to drop down to an H-rated tire with no adverse effects on vehicle handling and performance. And just a reminder, AWD vehicles need to have the tires replaced in sets of 4, as putting 2 new tires on the vehicle with 2 worn tires can cause drivetrain problems.
Q:is there such a thing? such as in the james bond car? or in the movie taxi? basically tires which, if punctured, you can still drive on. fiction?
bearing could freeze up, causing the vehicle to skid out of control.
Q:I just bought a new Honda Pilot in February. The front left tire became flat yesterday out of nowheremy question is since the car is new and only has 5,000 miles.should I have to pay for the new tire???
Tires are wear items. They are only covered by the tire manufacturer against defects in materials and workmanship. Honda does not warranty the tire at all! Why did the tire go flat? did you get a nail or screw in it? Was the puncture in the tread or the sidewall? Many time a tire can be patched, and be perfectly safe. A patch will cost less than a replacement tire!
Q:does it mean it doesnt hav a tube inside the tire??? why is it called so?pls tell me in detail... Thanks in Advance....
Tubeless tires are pneumatic tires that do not require a separate butyl rubber inner tube. Traditional designs of pneumatic tires required a separate inner tube which could fail for a number of reasons, such as: incorrect tire fitment, or friction between the tire wall and inner tube generating excess heat causing a blowout. Tubeless tire technology does away with the need for an inner tube thereby increasing safety. In a tubeless tire, the tire, which has an inner lining of impermeable halobutyl, and the rim of the wheel form an airtight seal, with the valve being directly mounted on the rim. If a tubeless tire gets punctured, air escapes only through the hole, leading to a gentle deflation of the tire. Conversely, an inner tube could potentially burst like a balloon, leading to a rapid deflation of the tire which could result in sudden loss of control of the vehicle. A liquid tire sealant can be added to tubeless tires to prevent deflation.
