Q: what is a tire rotation and what happens if you don‘t get it rotated over certain period of time. what will the results be? and when should one get their tires rotated every time? thanks
Tire rotation is when the wheels/tires are removed from the car and replaced in different positions to help even out tire wear. It's a good thing to help extend the life of your tires. Some people recommend tire rotation every 5000 miles. I normally have it done at every second oil change, or about 8,000 to 10,000 miles.
Q: If my tire was flat and I drove would it make a funny noise And feel funny?? Please help.
YES With the rim trying to cut through the tire.
Q: How to look at the size of car tires?
Tire written above
Q: Im doing a presentation for my marketing class selling bike tires. I need to know the material composition of a bike tire, if there s any warranty or Guarantee, and for how long on bike tires. The price of an average mountain bike tire?Thank you.
most tires (bikes, cars, etc.) primary part is rubber. then there is a cord made of kevlar or other material for strength and puncture resistance (no tire is puncture proof) avg price of a MTB tire: $ 25.00 no warranty or guarantees on most tires for most bikes
Q: I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla VE and It currently has 4 14 inch tires. I want cheap tires and installed and balanced for a good price. I found 4 tires they are 15 inch tires. Can these still fit on my car I dont know about tires any help? they are a good price then I need to go somewhere to get them balanced and put on
Nope. you need to match whats on there. Google how to read a tire.
Q: How are these tires on ice?
Those tires have no sipes in the tread. I doubt they will be any better than the other mud/sand tires that Interco sells. You want a good ice tire? Buy a set of dedicated snow tires, such as the Bridgestone Blizzak. That is the best ice tire I've ever used.
Q: Nascar is a competition sport, right? Why not let multiple tire manufacturers compete for the most competitive tire? Would race results determine who makes the best tire?
Goodyear paid to be the official tire of NASCAR. Back in the day you would of seen Goodyear, Hoosier, BF Goodrich on the cars, maybe others as well. But the bottom line is they paid for exclusivity. I wonder what would happen if Michelin wanted to be the Primary sponsor of a car. Would they be denied based on last years ATT vs NEXTEL (I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about) and Sunoco vs Shell (on Harvicks helmet the Shell symbol was too big and Sunoco had a problem with that)
Q: Since i started working at this job my tire has been flat twice and it‘s kind of add i don‘t drive old car for me to happen i kind of think that someone has been doing it but i am not sure. Is there any possibility that someone would do and if he or she did how might they do it.?? Because both times happened same every time i leave the parking lot it happened thanks for the answer
you will be fine with 4 lugs,I would just have it replaced with the next brake job, unless you're feeling handy. It's a pretty simple repair in most cases and you can get a good look at your rear brakes while you're doing it.Nothing else back there to be changed
Q: I have a 2010 focus, it says I have low tire pressure? Is this a big deal? None of the tires look flat. Can I still drive in it?I tried pumping air into it but the air pump almost electrocuted me :/Lol.Help??
Low tire pressure will effect the safety and fuel efficiency of your car. Although the tires may not look like the pressure is low the only way to know for sure is to use a tire gauge and check. If a tire looks low than it is WAY too low and dangerous to drive on. Technically you can still drive a car with low tire pressure but it is bad for the car and the tires. The tires will wear out incorrectly which means you'll have to replace them sooner or could cause a blow-out. The car also has to burn more fuel when the tire pressure is low so it costs you more at the pump. If you do not want to fill the tires yourself take your car to a garage or tire store. It will take less than 5 minutes for them to check your tires and fill them for you, they may even be able to teach you how to do it yourself! While you are there make sure to pick up a tire gauge, they are easy to use and by using one you will not have to question your tire pressure any more. The pressure in your tires will naturally change with the weather and temperature so it is good to be able to check and maintain your tire pressure yourself.
Q: I currently have Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S (215/60R16 95V) tires in my car. I want to switch to low profile, wider tires. I was looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3 (225/50R16 92Y). Can you switch the size of the tires like that? I have 2008 Hyundai Sonata SE
your speedo will only change slightly like 1mph. the tires you're looking at are wider than your originals and may give you a little bulge which can give you minor sway around corners, that you will not be able to notice. i personally do not recommend going to a lower profile tire because the biggest impact is made on comfort, and the lower you go, the more crap you feel while driving around and you risk bending a rim on a pot hole or something. the lower profile tires are a little more visually appealing, but try and steer clear from attempting to turn your sonata into eye candy. if you're just trying to pick those lower profile tires because they're a lot less expensive, then i'd say go for it! the pros and cons are small
